Chapter 55 - The gift (2/2), CH 55

The group had made their way towards the sleeping quarters and when they entered they found a surprise. There was a small black cube on the dining table. It reflected the light of the chandelier above so it was impossible to ignore it. It was rather small and it's surface shined like polished onyx.

Everybody was curious about it so they placed their stuff on the sofas and headed towards the cube. It's surface reflected the light and shined beautifully completely hiding it's inner contents. Alicia was the first to touch it as she held it up to inspect it closely.

"What exactly is it?"

"I think it might be a delivery for us."

Kyle had a curious expression but he knew perfectly well what it was. He had seen this event happen in those visions. The items inside the cube was something he was extremely scared of. He would have to find a way to dispose of it without arousing suspicion.

{I have to make sure Hannah doesn't get her hands on them!!}

Kyle simply smiled as he asked for the cube from Alicia. He looked at it's surface and his reflection stared back. A wide smile but heavy, scared eyes. He moved with the cube towards the fireplace with his back to the group.

"Hey what do you think you're doing?"

"I just think it would be best to observe it closer to the fire."

Kyle moved slowly and held the cube as he quickly formed a plan. He now stood before the fireplace with the cube. The bright orange glow of the fire just made the cube look even more beautiful. Kyle would dispose of it.

And so Kyle threw the cube into the fireplace. Ash suddenly escaped through the grate and the flames grew with a brighter glow. Everybody was shocked at Kyle's actions but none could see his own calm expression.

The plan wasn't finished yet. He turned to face his friends but he now had a very deep frown.

"I dropped it..."

"You idiot!! you literally threw it into the fire!?"

Kyle shrugged at Nanette's statement. Angels couldn't lie so if he tried to say she was wrong he would just fail. It was a sort of reflex that if angels tried to lie they would just end up telling a greater truth. So he would have to handle this situation in the best way he could.

By altering the truth.

"I don't think we should have been touching that box."

"What are you talking about... it was in our sleeping quarters, why the heck wouldn't we have the right to touch it?"

"Because it is definitely useless but what was inside it had more value. Believe me."

"What do you mean..."

"I'm talking about your gift Hannah. It was inside the cube and I just so happen to have it here."

Kyle then showed the palm of his hands and there was now a pair of glasses neatly wrapped in cloth. The frames were a beautiful shade of gold as the lens were pretty thin. The cloth was most probably for cleaning the lens.

Kyle handed the glasses to a rather surprised Hannah. She looked at them closely and on the frames were words imprinted in light blue.

[Heaven's inspection]

She assumed this was the name of the glasses or the brand that made them. She quickly put them on and felt the comfort as they adjusted perfectly. Her vision hadn't been enhanced nor had it been worsened but the glasses made her feel at ease. Her golden eyes shifted to a light blue, startling Nanette and Alicia.

"What exactly do those glasses do..."

"I don't really-"

[Integrating....Integrating...This may take several moments. Please be patient...]

Hannah stumbled backwards as golden words formed in the air. She was reading the words slowly as she recovered herself.

"Hey can you guys see this?"

"See what?"

Kyle had an unreadable expression as he looked away. He knew perfectly well what Hannah was seeing but for the plan to work it was best to act clueless.

Hannah stretched her hand in an attempt to grasp the words but her hand passed right through. It was almost as if they were non-existent. Hannah then looked towards her sister but the words followed her eyes, blocking her field of view. She couldn't understand and eventually the words changed to form a new message.

[Integration complete... Congratulations to Master Hannah of the third heaven. These glasses are a gift prepared for you by the relevant authorities. Please standby for terms and regulations.]

Hannah still remained clueless as a new message appeared, this one being a lot longer.

[These glasses are a product of The Order manufactured on the date; ??/??/??. Please read the following terms and regulations;

1.These glasses cannot transfer ownership no matter the circumstance.

2.You shall not use the AI to summon any divine beast or god without proper consent.

3.The AI of these glasses is property of The Order and under no circumstance will it be used for inappropriate acts. e.g; releasing Fenrir from his restraints and starting Ragnarok.

4.If the master of these glasses is caught attempting to perform the above listed actions, they shall be punished without hesitation.

Are you willing to agree to these terms? {Master Hannah}

{Yes}/{No}]

Hannah stared at the message in confusion as she kept trying to grab them. Her hands kept passing right through them but the message didn't disappear. Hannah was hesitant on what to do but she knew it had something to do with her ability.

So she hoped for the best and said,

"Yes."

What followed after was the weirdest and most complex feeling Hannah had ever had. It was a weird itch as her vision blurred. Several messages flew past her eyes and made her dizzy as she tried to balance herself. But she tipped right over just as her vision faded and landed right into Kyle's arms. She had lost consciousness.

Kyle looked down at his friend and felt worry spread over him. Although he knew this event would happen he still feared for her health. He then carried her over to the sofa and placed her down gently.

{Six hours... that's how long it should take for her to wake up. Hopefully nothing terrible happens.}

Kyle glanced over his shoulder to Alicia and Nanette they were both in shock. Hannah's random speech and actions was surprising on it's own.

Alicia walked over to her sister and started checking her for any symptoms of illness. She found none other than a random fever. Kyle watched as he let out a sigh of relief.

Although it made him look like a terrible friend he was also partially grateful that Hannah had fainted. With that all attention was focused on her and nobody had realised that he had hid an item in the pocket of his jacket.

The glasses wasn't the only thing in the cube. The other items were stuff Kyle couldn't risk letting anybody having. Not even himself.

So he silently teleported them into his dimensional rift. If things had played out the way they did in his visions then he could be assured that Hannah would wake up in 6 hours. But now that he had altered things he was no longer sure.

{Hopefully things work out for the best... for all of us.}
