(Wednesday, Lunchtime)
The angels were currently sitting in the Crypt(TM). They were enjoying an excellent lunch and a relaxing atmosphere. There were more students in the Crypt(TM) that day than before. The angels were sitting in their own secluded corner. Hannah had picked the corner because it was a bit more private and had less lighting.
They enjoyed themselves quite a bit before an unexpected person showed up at their table.
"Oh? I never expected to find your lot here."
A rather bored Sandee appeared from the shadows. He had a faint smile as he looked at the angels, they looked so uncaring and calm. He decided to sit with them.
Sandee walked towards their table and with a polite, "excuse me," he took a seat. He smiled as he gestured for a student waitress to come over. He ordered a few cakes plus some tea and when she disappeared he turned towards the angels. They still hadn't told him to get lost yet and he hoped they wouldn't anytime soon.
"I apologize for my intrusion but I honestly wanted to meet the triple S ranks of the first years."
He gave them another smile in hope that it would help solidify his excuse for being there. Hannah and Kyle simply shrugged while Alicia just stared at him silently. Sandee chuckled and tapped the table with his finger. He had about 40 or so minutes before they were to return to class so he would have to make good use of the time he had.
"You guys probably have no idea how many people are expecting great things from you. There are only a hundred Triple S ranks in the entire academy and each one is amazing in their own way."
None of the angels reacted differently as they just stared at him. It seemed the concept of ranks within the academy didn't matter much to them. But Kyle was curious about Sandee's claim as he asked a question.
"What rank are you?"
Sandee produced a genuine smirk as he scratched the back of his head.
"I'm a Triple S rank just like you guys but I'm more of a support kinda guy. I rarely fight so you probably should never rely on me."
Kyle nodded slowly in acknowledgement but the girls still acted indifferently. Sandee found this interesting and decided to entertain himself a bit more.
"You guys mind telling me what paths you guys chose during your entrance exam? If I remember correctly there was a question on what specific path students wanted to choose."
Sandee observed the angels and to his delight, they reacted differently. All three of them fidgeted nervously as the girls avoided his curious gaze. There indeed was a question about the student's choice on what specific field they wanted to major in.
The choices were either a Mancer mage or a Shinobi. Mancer mages were simply mages specialised in different forms of magic cast through chanting or mana expansion. Shinobis were also mages but they specialised in physical magic enhancements through martial arts or weapon mastery. Eventually, Kyle was the first to respond to the question.
"I chose Shinobi"
Next was Hannah.
"I chose Mancer mage, I would prefer Pyromancy if anything."
Last was Alicia.
"I left the question blank..."
Sandee couldn't help but stare at Alicia, she tried avoiding his gaze by staring at another group. Sandee wondered just how she had been accepted into the academy but shrugged it off as something unrelated. He was more interested in Hannah and Kyle since their choices held importance to him. With a faint smile, he asked yet another question.
"I heard that you had been asked to join the Shinobi squad by the Dean, is it true Kyle?"
Kyle stared at Sandee for a while before lightly shrugging and saying that it was true. Kyle had forgotten about the conversation he had with the Dean concerning the position but it started replaying in his mind.
"He told me a bit about the Shinobi squad but I eventually turned down the offer."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"Because it doesn't help with what I want to do in the future. It just sounds more like a restraint than anything."
Sandee stared at Kyle but suddenly smiled as he stifled a laugh. This angel was every bit what he expected, now all that was left was to test his combat strength. But that could come later.
"You are an interesting character Kyle Entriken... I wouldn't mind seeing your strength but I doubt we would find time for such things. What about you, Hannah and Alicia? considering to join any clubs?"
Hannah and Alicia glanced at each other before giving their own answers. Alicia answered first.
"I thought of joining the Alchemy researching club but I might join the archery club instead."
"I thought of joining the Magecraft club."
Sandee nodded in acknowledgement. Their choices were rather good and seemed to fit their characters quite well. He wanted to say something but Kyle interrupted him with a question of his own.
"Do you know anything about the class wars event?"
Sandee turned to Kyle with a surprised expression, he hadn't expected anybody to ask what a class war was. Sandee scratched the back of his head as he tried to find the appropriate words to describe a class war. Eventually, he thought of something and just went along with it.
"The class wars are exactly what they sound like. Battles carried out between classes that are supervised by a member of the academy's administration or the student council. Generally, any class is allowed to challenge another to class war and so long as both classes are in favour of the war then they are allowed to have the battle. Nothing complicated like getting paperwork or whatever but the battle will be called off if it is conducted without the presence of administration. But the class wars event are battles arranged by the academy that all classes must participate into gauge a class' growth. We should be starting the event by next month if not later."
Sandee seemed to be deep in thought as he tried remembering the exact details. He knew he would be one of the overseers for the class war between the fifth and sixth years but that was pretty much all he remembered.
"Ummmm... If I remember correctly the first years are supposed to fight the second years. With you guys, your class just might win."
He tried to sound sincere and supportive yet for some reason the angels looked troubled. Was there something going on that he wasn't aware of, if there was then it was probably best he found out. A random idea popped into his head and he smiled. This could prove to be a great opportunity for him, the only thing was to choose his words wisely now.
"I would like to suggest something but I'll only say it if you're willing to listen."
He observed the angels and to his delight, there was a change in expression. Kyle was smiling while the girls were staring at him attentively. He would take this as a yes of sorts.
"I was planning to go to the nearest dungeon later this Friday to train. Would you guys like to join me?"
