The blue light was growing stronger by the second and it took the fallen angels a while to realize what she was doing.
The fallen noble was about to give his order when he felt a sudden sharp pain in his mind. He fell to the street on his knees in total pain.
{This...this presence is the most holy aura I've ever felt yet I can sense pure rage as well. Surely she couldn't have summoned a high ranking angel?!}
The fallen noble had streams of black blood leaking from the corners of his mouth. He was obviously in a lot of pain yet the fallen angels around him were completely fine.
But everybody's attention was diverted when the street under them fissured suddenly and large jets of underground steam arose. The sky above was no longer clear as grey clouds collected in swirling masses. The noise of all this was almost deafening.
That was when everybody saw the horses.
Liath Macha and Dub Sainglend. Kyle knew about them as Liath Macha was infamous across the universe. The two horse were contrasting colors of grey and black respectively.
They were beautiful and just by looking at the chariot they pulled behind them Kyle knew the heroic spirit Hannah had summoned.
"Láeg...now I understand why she thinks she can't control him. He's way too damn strong!"
Kyle was panicking. Láeg was a hero of that distant world named 'Earth' and yet he was known by several deities. The attention summoning someone like him would bring...
They could even attract the attention of the gods of the underworlds. Something they had to avoid as best they could.
The horses had come out of a golden gate that appeared in the window of the armor shop the angels had walked by earlier. The horses had shiny coats of fur with eyes of wild free horses. The chariot itself looked ancient yet it's coat of paint smelt fresh. The chariot was quite long with golden carvings etched into it's wooden framework. The person in the chariot was none other than Láeg himself.
He had messy black hair that covered his eyes. His skin was a bright peach and the tip of his nose was a light pink. He wore leather battalion armor and next to him were racks of projectile weapons like lances and spears.
He looked like a true charioteer.
He looked mostly bored and glanced towards the fallen angels. Without uttering a word he pointed a finger at the fallen noble grovelling in a pool of his own blood.
Then the most random thing happened. The black horse opened it's mouth and out came a white column of flames heading straight for the fallen angels. They couldn't react fast enough and the flames scorched them immediately only leaving a strong smell of roasting flesh. There were fallen angels who were out of the range of the column but with their fallen noble being the original target, they had lost their leader. The fallen angels tried to retaliate but they were not coordinated.
Not that it would help them anyway.
Láeg didn't even react any faster as he simply pointed his finger at the fallen angels heading towards him.
[Original skill: 7 downfalls]
The fallen angels all stopped moving but their position and expressions remained the same. Almost as if time had been stopped. And that was when the skill took it's proper effect. Like melting butter the fallen angels started to change.
First their wings dropped and liquidized into black goo and after their wings their skin filled after, then their muscles, body fluids, bones, tissues and then their organs. It was gruesome to watch and Kyle couldn't contain himself anymore.
He vomited.
The melting of a living being was horrifying to watch as they didn't melt away but their bodies melted into goo that still bore resemblance to their original forms. Then the black horse opened it's mouth once more and shot an even brighter white column of flames that evaporated the goo.
It was over now. The charioteer had eradicated all the fallen angels on his own and turned to face the angels.
"So...who summoned me?"
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
The angels were now sitting in the familiar study room of Sheila. She had graciously invited them into her home and even accepted their extra 'guests'.
Hannah looked quite exhausted and was having a maid tend to her closely. The study room was a peaceful sanctuary the angels usually enjoyed to read.
Now there was a heroic spirit and his two horses enjoying the warmth of the fireplace.
Láeg surprisingly wasn't too talkative and simply agreed to follow the angels after Kyle noticed blood leaking from Hannah's eyes.
She had overdone herself.
They were all there including Sheila as they watched the nurse attend to Hannah closely. Alicia wasn't smiling but was instead staring at her sister's pale skin.
"So... you never mentioned who summoned me..."
Láeg was patting the fur of Dub Sainglend with a rough looking hand. The horse didn't seem to mind and simply stared at the dancing flames.
"Sorry about that... it was out friend here but she isn't feeling well."
"Oh?... Is it because she summoned me?"
"Yes... we apologise to misconvenience you. If you wish you may go back to where you want we wouldn't want to demand anything more of you."
Kyle was trying his best to control the situation. If news spread that Hannah had summoned a legendary heroic spirit and had the ability to summon more then there was a chance that they would be facing the gods in a short while.
But Láeg had different plans.
"May I be your servant then?"
"What!?"
The horses also seemed shocked at the suggestion. Especially Liath Matcha who seemed to have a more violent reaction.
The grey horse had glowing red eyes now and a low growl deep in its throat but Láeg ignored it.
"I asked if I may act as your servant if your friend can't handle having me."
"What makes you think I would be any better?"
"You have the spirit of a king, I can sense you Ryderrch."
Kyle frowned, Dyrnwyn was still in his dimensional rift.
"Anyways I don't think having me as a master will work out. I'm no summoner."
"You need not be a summoner, I will simply be your charioteer to command as you please. I promise that there are no hidden lies in my proposal. "
Now Kyle was more curious than worried.
"Why do you want to be my servant so badly..."
"Because I have a promise to fulfil and going back to the otherworld will prevent that."
"Well then I refuse, not unless Im sure that you will gain something from this pact. So make a proposal I can help you with then I'll agree."
"Very well then, I have my proposal. I would like for you to help me find a close friend of mine."
"Don't tell me it's..."
"Aye, my companion the hero Cú Chulainn."
"Then he shall agree to your proposal."
Sheila was tired of being ignored.
