Two days had passed by quickly with the angels just enjoying themselves and Sheila hiding in her room. Her room door had been locked for the past two days with no sign of ever opening. Kyle's room was closest to Sheila's room and he tried to find out what was happening with her but she never responded once.
Eventually, he let it be and practised with his sword for the rest of the two days. Myrac would be his sparring partner and they soon became familiar with each other's techniques.
Hannah had not left the study for the majority of the two days and more than once she would ask a maid to deliver her new paper and a new quill. She had compiled all of the information onto this paper and would then start a new theory to see if something could be possible or not. She wanted to try and narrow down all the useless information to what could be helpful on the mission.
Alicia wasn't as cheerful as the other two and simply walked everywhere within the mansion. She mostly spent her time soaking in the bathhouse. She needed to find a solution to that headache before another incident were to occur.
During the morning of the third day, everybody had gathered at the entrance with their weapons equipped. Myrac was also summoned and seemed to stick closely to Hannah.
"Now we should head to the academy before the gates are closed for the beginning of the exam. Walking there won't be advised so I suggest we all fly there."
"Is that fine?"
"Don't worry I can cast a cloaking spell on your wings and we can simply land at the gates. Besides, it would be much faster than walking."
"If you say so."
All of them walked out of the mansion and revealed their wings. Sheila hovered above the ground and pointed her finger towards each of their wings. All of them vanished in a moment and they looked as if they were all just hovering.
They then all took to the sky and headed towards the scholars' district with quick speed. They didn't fly to the clouds but the height of the magic towers. Sheila seemed to be at peace while flying and soon they had arrived by the scholars' district. They flew closer to the magic academy gates and glided down to a stop surprising everybody else who had also just arrived.
The beautiful magic academy was now before them with the courtyard filled to the brim with wandering students and examinees. The angels followed Sheila who led them through the school gates with no problem.
They had soon mingled with the crowd and kept moving forward to the front to see what was going on ahead.
When they were at the front of the crowd they could see an old man holding a wooden staff and running his fingers through his grey beard. His eyes were full of wonder and mystery and Hannah couldn't help but wonder who he was.
The man had two demi-human students by his side who were holding an axe and a great sword. They both looked serious but cute at the same time with their fluffy black and white ears sprouting from the top of their heads.
The old man tapped his staff on the ground and every sound in the courtyard was silenced immediately. The old man smiled at this and looked to the sky while muttering something to himself. The crowd watched him and he shrugged before returning to looking at them all.
"Hello and welcome to our Trascot magic academy! I am a professor of this academy and my name is Belkis Rutar. I shall be leading the examination with the help of our third and fourth-year students.
Any form of cheating during the exam will not be tolerated and the examinee will immediately be disqualified so do keep that in mind.
I will say the names of specific examinees who have been registered and they shall follow my assistant to my right towards the examination room. They will then be lead towards a waiting room after the exam to await the other examinees. We have a total of three thousand examinees and it seems only two hundred or so are here right now. So the exam will be for a continuous-time of four days hopefully you can cooperate with us."
The old man smiled and placed his right palm forward. A spark ignited above his palm and a white paper landed onto his hand. He was very careful in handling it and started to read the names on the list in a serious tone.
"Kyle Entriken, may you please step forward and follow my assistant to the exams."
Kyle wondered who it was but Sheila tapped his shoulder and quickly spoke.
"Entriken is the noble name that I received upon entering this world...so I used it to register you as my kid, go on now."
Kyle chuckled to himself and stepped forward and everybody got a good glance at him. He followed after the professor's assistant and they headed towards a path to the right of the main building. The assistant was female and remained silent the whole time.
Kyle tried to remember anything he could on the topic of demi-humans and came up with nothing. He wasn't a professional on the subject of racial preferences. With no topic of conversation being sure he could only follow silently.
They had soon arrived at a new building not far from the main building. Another student wearing a white uniform was standing by the entrance. There were no windows on the building and the height of it was grand.
The student by the entrance tipped his cap to the demi-human and stepped to the side.
He looked to be Kyle's age and was extremely respectful towards the demi-human. She stepped forward and opened the door and gestured for Kyle to follow her in.
So he did and he found himself in an endless void. He couldn't see the ceiling nor any walls and when the door was closed he felt as if he was in endless darkness. The demi-human who was leading him earlier had also vanished.
Kyle felt like a lost lamb but decided to harden his heart and step forward. His shoes were the only sound he could hear in this darkness. He was sure that this wasn't that building anymore and he was somewhere else now. He unstrapped his sword and heaved it onto his shoulder.
He continued moving forward for a minute before he felt a change in his terrain. The ground under him changed to stone slabs and the darkness was lit up by a new light. He now stood in a pantheon with stone pillars surrounding him. Everything was a white colour and felt extremely well cleaned. Kyle walked over to one of the pillars and ran it across the surface.
It was polished stone and reflected his appearance. He was wearing a golden wreath on his head and this surprised him. Everything else still looked the same and he moved his hand to the golden wreath to try and take it off. However, it stayed on his head and Kyle felt a sharp pain.
{Probably best to not try and remove it.}
Kyle then moved around the pantheon and inspected everything he could before he felt the ground under his feet shake. He wasn't able to tell what it was that bothered him but that shake immediately made him on guard.
The shaking increased dramatically in the next moment and Kyle had to try and balance himself. He looked up and tried to look for the source and he managed to see a figure appearing on his left. The figure was visible since there was nothing to cover who they were.
Kyle was immediately surprised and his sword clattered on the floor.
"Fa-father!!"
