Somewhere within the depths of heaven's space, where clouds and fogs wrapped the whole surrounding and mountains and lakes scattered across the vast plain, a temple was erected. The temple was huge, towering for hundreds of meters, and spanning 4000 square meters. The building was glittering with brilliance as its hard yellow surface reflects the golden light of the sun. But hidden from normal view are rows and columns of runic patterns inscribed on its surface to decorate it with ancient drawings and characters. On top of the temple is a flat surface where guards are usually stationed. But now, not one is in sight except two persons, silently staring at each other as if waiting for something. One is an overly gorgeous woman with overly long hair that flutters like a flag among the chilly breeze. Her robes are radiating holy sparkles that gave her the perfect definition of an angel. Though she was frowning as she stared at the latter, a man of the same age. He was standing there calmly with his arm clutching the hilt of his sword. Not one of them is talking or moving yet. But it seems they are going to explode real soon.

The woman broke the silence. Even though she spoke normally, her voice travelled across the surroundings that anyone could clearly hear it.

"Surrender now, Jun Xie. You have nowhere to go. I can't let you escape today. It is my duty to exterminate a devil like you!"

The man, Jun Xie, looked saddened. His face about to downpour with emotions.

"Why? Why do you need to do this? I've done nothing wrong. Believe me, I did not kill your father. And I can prove it to you."

"Liar! Don't dare utter my father again! He's been kind to you. He accepted you even if its against the laws, and even presented you with many life-changing opportunities. Yet this is what you've done? I can't believe my uncle is right. You are a demon! You are evil! If I don't reconsider my feelings for you, I could have slayed you already! Don't think of escaping again. I will kill you to avenge my father. Even if I have to die!!"

She swiftly unleashed her sword and propelled towards him in a breakneck speed. The air rippled against her absolute velocity. She reached him in a split second, moving her sword horizontally to cut his head. But at those times, were like the longest. It's like time slowed down considerably, as she looked at the face of the man she loved the most, a tear escaped her eyes. But there's no going back. She have already unleashed an attack. She must let go of her feelings and kill the culprit who stole her father's life.

Jun Xie did not even react. He just watched her swing her sword to his neck. If he must die to prove his innocense, he is willing. If his only love wants him to die, he is ready to accept. Because his life is no more than just a game. Maybe its time to end it.

Swish!

But something happened. As her sword gets closer and closer, Jun Xie can see her lips trembling and dread and fear appearing on those eyes. Then her hand weakens and the blade abruptly stopped just an inch before his neck. Both of them froze in shock. Jun Xie was astonished as he didn't expect her not to do it. He has already accepted his death. Yet he was spared instead. Meanwhile, the lady was more shocked at what she've done. Or what she've not done. She failed to kill him. She failed to kill Jun Xie, her most beloved. But it was not because of mercy. It was because of her love she cannot let go.

Slowly, the sword slipped past her trembling palm and fell down. Huh? The two stared at each other wide-eyed. They could feel emotions bubbling inside them. Those love and affection they shared for ten years, were the happiest memories of their life. Their relationship started in an accident. But it must not end in hate. No. Neither of them wants each other's death. They just couldn't accept. If she killed him today, her conscience won't be at rest. She would forever regret her decision.

Whewww...

Wind blows past them, at the couple separated by a meter. And they were silent once more, unwilling to say something. Until Jun Xie spoke.

"Mei'er, why? Why didn't you kill me?"

Mei was silent for sometime. She thought, closing her eyes and organizing her decisions. What is it? What is really the reason? Was it because of love, pity, fear? She do not know. But one thing is for sure.

"I... I...", she can't continue.

Slash!!

Jun Xie's eyes widened in shock. A blade just emerged from Mei's chest. The blade exactly penetrated her heart, dying it with crimson red.

Mei froze, unable to continye any longer. She fell and Jun Xie catches her. He looked around. There he is.

The culprit; the murderer; he is Mei's uncle. And he just killed his own niece.

There are many things Jun Xie wanted to say. He wants to get sad. He wants to curse in anger. He wants to ask why. But those words were stuck on his throat and he can't utter anything. He hold his lover.

The uncle laughed sarcastically. He was actually happy killing his niece?

"Hahahahahahaha!!" But then his expression turned to anger. "You deserve it! How many nights have you two spend in bed together that neither of you wants to kill the other? But it's okay. I already expected this. Thus, I took steps."

Jun Xie finally said some words. "Why? Why have you done this? What did we did wrong to you?"

"You ain't need to do wrong for me to murder you. You just need to have the key."

Jun Xie looked down on his chest. A key was hanging by his neck. It was glowing azure blue. Till now, he didn't what the key opens. But considering how greedy the old man is, it must be so precious.

"But why did you have to kill her? You could have just stolen it from me!"

"That's none of your business! I will kill whoever I want!"

Jun Xie stared at Mei's face. Her eyes are drooping and blood is seeping out her mouth. He was full of pity on the innocent woman. She does not deserve any of this. She deserved a good life. The pain of losing her was unbearable that dying cannot hope to compare. By losing her, he looks lost of all motivation to survive.

"I get it."

"Huh?"

"You're a blood cultivator. Or maybe you chose to walk the dao of slaying."

The uncle grinned. "What smart of you. No, I'm not. But my boss is." He reached his hand. The blade stuck on Me's chest was withdrawn and returned to his hand.

Jun Xie got a better look of the blade. The blade was extraordinarily unique. It has no traces of any elements besides the foul stench of blood. He understood now. The blade is the owner of a demon cultivator. And its spirit must have possessed Mei's uncle. He hugged Mei for the last time, to feel her heart as it gradually stopped beating. He whispered. "I love you. Goodbye." Then he placed her corpse on the ground.

"Too many have died through that blade of yours. It's time to end it." He unleashed his katana, measuring about five feet long and pointed it at him.

Demonic aura enveloped the opponent and eventually transformed to his real form. The man no longer looked like Mei's uncle but a creepy grim reaper. Death sharp qi enveloped his blade as its runes glowed working.

SLASH!

As quick as lightning, the slash can only be desribe as too sharp. It created a sea of slash wave that travelled through anything it could touch, splitting them like knife cutting through butter. The slash wave was not directed to Jun Xie but it was still powerful enough to send him flying like a bullet for thousand miles. The temple which was full of protective arrays was directly split into two; evident how powerful and sharp a casual slash was. This was just merely one percent of his power. Yet it penetrated through the soil and even caused a little earthquake. The air molecules were pressured very much that they created a short hurricane.

As the chaos subsided; the ruins was revealed. There was a large slash mark in front of the demon cultivator, stretching for a hundred meters or more. The temple which was supposed to be a stronghold was like a paper in front of a scissor. The demon cultivator spoke nornally, yet his voice travelled thousand miles.

"I will give you a chance of revenge. When you meet me again, be sure you are strong enough to take at least ten percent of my attack. Because I won't show you any mercy by then."

He stepped away from the broken temple and within the space he vanished in a flash.
