Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: My Lord

[2 Hours Later]

I woke up with a headache and slightly dizzy still. I looked around to find myself in a medical room. A nurse was waiting on me, giving me water and medicine. I refused it and stood up very lightheaded. I walked around for awhile until I found my way into the hallway where about a thousand doors were lined up. I searched nearly 20 until James appeared out of thin air, again, and said, "And what might you be doing darling?" I quickly bowed and slurred, "Sorry My Lord, but I must find my father." As I turned around to walk away James slid his arm under mine, linking them together, and replied, "I can help you with that, but first, how about we finish that tour Thomas and I promised you!" "Where's Thomas?" "Why do you want to know?" James stepped closer to me and continued, "Do I make your uncomfortable when we're alone?" I yanked my arm from James's grasp and calmly said, "No, I just don't like you. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find my father!" I charged down the hall and eventually came back into the main living area where Thomas gave me tea. I knew my way from here. I ran down the hallway and kicked in the door to the throne room where my father and the King were sitting. Their attention immediately turned to me as the King asked, "What is the meaning of this? James was told to keep you calm!" I glared and sassily replied, "Sorry, I just don't like James. Plus I don't let men tell me what to do, especially the ones who are assholes!" My fathers eyes widened, as did the Kings. Both were left speechless at my language. I quickly continued, "I apologize, I'm a bit upset at the moment for my fathers continued lies to me!" I stormed out of the room and found Thomas. I smiled as he approached me with a concerned look and asked, "Are you okay? I was worried when I saw your dad carrying you to the medical room. What happened?" I took a deep breath and answered, "I'm okay Thomas, thank you. I just fainted, but everything's alright now!" Thomas exhaled in relief. I love how much he cares for me even though we've known each other for such a short time. I don't know how he's related to such a bastard of a brother. "Do you happen to know where my grandmother is?" Thomas smiled and nodded his head, "She's having tea with my mother." He gestured his hand for me to take. I gladly took it as he began to lead the way to where the other women had their tea. "Just through this door. Would you like me to accompany you?" I smiled generously and answered, "No, thank you very much though Thomas. I shall see you later?" He nodded with a smile and left. I knocked on the door and the queen opened it with a happy look. I bowed and said, "Hello my Queen, may I speak with my grandmother for a moment?" She smiled and happily stepped aside for me to get to my grandmother. She stepped out of the room and said she'd go make more tea. I sat down and my grandmother asked, "What's the matter dear? You look ever so flustered and angry." I nodded and replied, "After hearing that James knows about us and their family is werewolf hunters I fainted and when I awoke I tried finding father once more and I had a rude run in with James. He's quite annoying! Any-who, then I found Thomas who guided me to you!" "And why did you need to see me?" She asked curiously. I quickly said back, "I wanted to ask if we may go? I'm not enjoying myself a single bit here." My grandmother examined my eager expression and finally said, "Are you sure it's because you simply aren't having fun, or is it that you fancy James and don't wish to admit it?" I was shocked at her words. I gasped which caused her to say, "Well, you seem very flustered and you've said that you had a few confrontations with him. I just put two and two together and gathered that you've developed a liking towards James. It also doesn't help your case when you continuously talk about him!" I clenched my jaw and glared for a moment. Then I said, "Even if I did like him, even just a little, I would never be with someone like James. He's rude and cocky. My feelings don't overthrow those very large cons!" My grandmother just simply smiled and winked at me. I turned around and opened the door, perfect timing, the queen was standing right outside with a tray of tea. I opened the door wider and said, "I've finished. Thank you your majesty." I bowed quickly and closed the door behind me. As I walked down the short hallway I turned the corner without paying attention, there, James grabbed me by my waist and asked, "Did you mean what you said in there?" I knew what he was speaking of but I denied it, "I have no idea what you're talking about, my Lord." I brushed passed him and as I left he said, "Fine, but if I cross a line just say so..." I was confused and as I turned around to ask he was right in front of me. Then he pulled me in to try and kiss me. His warm hands kept the coldness of the castle away. I stayed in his embrace, but I knew I had to break the awkward silence. He was waiting for me to make the next move, so I did. I pulled away from his grasp and stared for awhile before turning around and running down the hallway into the main living space where I found the door to outside where I could use the carriage to get myself home. Father and grandmother clearly weren't interested in leaving any time soon so I'll just send the carriage back to get them later! I got home and changed into my night gown. I then layed in bed and shut my eyes tightly. Trying to get James out of my head...
