I woke up realizing me, Penelope, and Kara all fell asleep on the couches. Last night we reminded ourselves of the memories we shared with our aunts and uncles. Suddenly I heard a knock on the door, I didn't expect anyone this early, barely sunrise actually. I look awful, I noticed in a mirror. Before opening the door I brushed through my tangled hair and fixed my dress. When I opened the door I saw Thomas at the door, "I heard what happened. I came to give me and my families condolences." I came to remembrance of what this deal was with the King. I scoffed and replied, "Really? If I'm not mistaken, your father is the one who ordered my grandmother to kill my family. All I have left are my two cousins who, might I add, are barely my age!" Thomas had regret in his eyes as he said, "I know about that deal. At the time, James and I didn't know you or your family personally, but my mother and I still tried to keep him from putting that part in the contract. Sadly, my father and James overruled it and forced your father to sign it. I'm so sorry Amelia!" Confusion and hatred filled my mind when I heard the words leaving Thomas's lips. "James was in on this?" Thomas regretfully answered, "Well, I didn't mean to say that, but yes. It's only because he didn't know you yet!" I shook my head and ran upstairs without another word. I wrote a note to Penelope and Kara telling them I'd be out of the house for awhile and then I changed my dress. Tight at the top and red. I pinned back my dark curled hair and ran downstairs. "What's going on Amelia?" Thomas asked me. I quickly answered, "Come on! We're going to back to the palace. I need a word with your father...and James!" Thomas didn't want to but I was already out the door. We got into his carriage and when we arrived I jumped out of and ran to the front door. Guards tried stopping me but I pushed them out of the way, shoving through the door, Thomas shortly behind me with a regretful face. I stormed the palace until I found King George in the courtroom. "HOW COULD YOU!" I screamed from across the room. The King looked at me confused so I continued, "THEY WERE MY FAMILY AND YOU SENT THEM TO THEIR DEATH LIKE IT WAS NOTHING TO YOU!" He began to understand what I was meaning. With a tear running down my cheek he said sternly, "Calm down Miss Crescent! I know you must be feeling upset at the moment, but your father agreed to it!" "You didn't have to suggest the idea in the first place. All my father ever wanted was peace between us and the humans, but you still treat us as your slaves! We follow your rules or we die, but we don't get anything out of it. So I'm calling off the deal!" He looked at me suspiciously and replied, "Are you sure you want to do that Miss Crescent. After everything your father did?" I nodded my head and aggressively said, "I killed my father, do you seriously think I care what 'deal' he made? I want to offer you a different deal..." The King asked me intriguingly, "And what might this deal be?" I quickly answered, "I'm the true alpha, meaning what I say goes with my pack. Unfortunately my pack is now only me and my two cousins no thanks to you. I want consistent protection for both of them, in return I offer that we keep our fangs to ourselves in full moons and not harm any of the humans! But if so much as one threat lays a finger on either of them I will have your head. Do we have a deal?" He squinted at me and asked, "If I say no?" "I don't see any guards around, I can be to you, snap your neck like a twig, and out of here before your could even scream! So I recommend you take the deal!" I gulped at my threat and began writing on a piece of paper. After a few minutes he handed it to me with his signature on it. I read it carefully three times over and finally signed my name as well. He stacked the paper with other documents. As I was about to turn around and leave the castle Thomas bursts through the door and in an alarming voice says, "James is missing!" I quickly asked, "Do you know where he went?" Thomas rolled his eyes at me and said, "No! If I did I wouldn't sound so alarmed now would I!" Before I could reply, King George called out, "Get the guards on it!" I quickly shook my head and said. "No! I can track him faster than your men can!" He laughed at me so I scoffed and ran out of the room. I continued to run outside and I took a abrupt stop when I smelled him. He left about and hour ago, right before Thomas and I got here. I began tracing his scent all the way into the woods, and when it stopped I saw a green clearing. The same one he took me to the day I decided I wanted to become a werewolf. I smelled something, like wet dog. Werewolves! I looked around and eventually saw two people appear out of the blue. A man and a woman. They stared at me and with a smirk they said, "The true Alpha...we've been looking for you!" I got a bad feeling about them. Then a voice yelled, "It's a trap! RUN LIA!" It was James. He was tied against a tree. Before I could do anything I felt two pairs of arms grab my body. The other werewolves were holding me. One by my head, yanking on it roughly, and the other by my arms, pulling them in every direction. 'They're trying to kill me,' was my first thought. I couldn't move, I was immobilized in place. Frozen. After a short time of tugging and pulling I heard the quiet sound of leaves crumbling. I looked up to see James standing there with a rock in his hands. The other werewolves laughed at him and proceeded to tear on me. I could feel my muscles giving up, I couldn't hold off any longer. I'm going to die! Then, I smelled it. Blood. James used the rock in his hands to cut himself in his arm! The other wolves must've smelled it too because they let go of me and slowly walked over to James. He cut himself to save me! I regained my strength just in time to get them away from James. I snapped the neck of the woman and ripped out the heart of the man's. James exhaled in relief, as did I. Then the smell got stronger. I turned away from James, but he walked closer to me and said, "Its okay. I understand. But thank you, for saving me!" I smiled and turned back to him, "You put your life at risk to save mine. I should be thanking you!" He simply shrugged his shoulders with a smirk. I stared at James for a longing moment and he finally said, "I would take the time to explain to you how this happened, but I need to do something first..." he grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him. Our faces, inches apart, I could feel his cool peppermint breath on my lips as he leaned in closer. I wasn't going to deny him this time, he almost died, as did I, I wanted this...I needed this. He slowly ran his warm hand across my neck and layed his plump lips onto mine! Embracing me in a long, heated kiss between two kids in love...
