Kierra knee 3 things.
1, Kierra could not lie to her father. Her mother maybe but not her father. He'd see right through her in a second. He knew his little girl and could figure her out like a baby puzzle.
2, Her parents would be excited. They struggled to conceive. They'd used a surrogate to have her. She couldn't get an abortion if she told them. It would crush her parents, she's feel like she was insulting them by being able to conceive then throwing it away. She would be crushed herself, if she told someone she'd want to keep her little Osita.
3, she was scared. Scared of what her Abuela and Tía would think. Scared of what herself, scared of Nicholas. Scared of osita.
September 10th
Nicholas decided to visit his sister. He left his apartment early in the morning, he needed to clear his head before confessing to his sister. She was 4 years older and already had a kid.
She would know what to do.
Nicholas tore out of the parking garage. The streets were almost empty during this hour, the sun was just peaking from behind the mountains. He blasted his music and just drove. He was soon leaving the city, he was heading into the mountains which the sun hid behind. The scenery changed to thick green trees and gravel roads.
My sisters house was small, surrounded by trees and gardens. Her small car was tucked behind a cluster of shrubs, and her son Braedon's toys littered the yard. I knocked on the door, and waited. Elenor answered the door Braedon cradled on her hip. She looked annoyed someone was knocking on her door so early in the morning.
"Norie" I say crushing her in a hug before she even knows what's happening.
"Nicky is that you?" Nora asked confused, "why the hell are you up here at 6 in the morning"
"Too see my favorite sister and nephew" I say coming at Bray.
"What about Kaitlyn" Nora teases
"Lyn ain't no sister of mine." I growl pushing myself into the house. For being a single mother raising a toddler her house was incredibly clean.
"Breakfast little bro" she asked setting Bray down to play.
"Sure" I say scooping up my nephew tickling his stomach, my head had been clear but playing with little Bray brought it back.
I could do this with my own baby.
Is it a boy or a girl?
Why hasn't Kierra told me?
Lots of questions.
Thankfully Nora asked me a question, unfortunately it was about Kaitlyn.
"I know how you feel about Lyn but have you heard from her?" She asked
"Yeah on my birthday last month, she left a wonderful message" I say sarcastically
"She came by on Braedens birthday and she gave me this." Nora tells me. She stops cooking and begins looking through the drawers. She pulls out a jewelry box and hands it to me. Inside is our Mothers necklace. The crucifix removed leaving the silver chain.
"Why would I want this" I say snapping the box back shut
"Kaitlyn insisted you have it." Is all Nora said before continuing to cook
I'd spent all day with my little nephew playing carrying him around, chatting with Nora and helping her clean. The sun was setting and Nora finally asked the big question.
"What is it?" She asked. She was rocking back and forth on the porch swing whilst I picked at the stone steps.
"What's what" I ask confused
"You only show up at my house at the literal crack of dawn if you need advice" Nora says in a matter of factly voice
"Do not" I defend
"Let's see, getting kicked out, Kaitlyn, loosing a part, breakups" Nora counts in her fingers
"Fine" I say, coming to sit next to her.
"Igotmyroomatepregnantandherdadismybossandidontknowehattodobecauseilovemyjobbuticantjustleavethebabikedleftme"
"What slow down speak up" Nora tells my parting my shoulder.
"I got my roommate pregnant and her dad is my boss and I don't know what to do because I love my job" I say still quietly. Nora turns my head towards her.
"You did what now" She whispers
"I got my roommate-"
"Eek" She squealed "a play mate for Braedon, god knows Kaitlyn will never bring her perfect angel Caleb to be tainted by my demon spawn"
"That's the point. I don't know what to do, do I talk to Kierra do I wait for her to tell me?" I rant
"What do you mean ask her how do you know" Nora asks confused
"I found the pregnancy tests" I tell her
"How do you know it's hers, don't you live with another girl" Nora reminds me.
"Oh my god, oh my god. Your right. I'm fine" I sigh with relief
"But there's still a 50 50 it's yours so I would talk to what's her name and at least have something to do with her, just. In. Case."
