Peeking out the door carefully. It was Ethan that had come back into the room. He was pretty beat up. I shoved my door open going to him quickly.
"Are you okay?" I thought our bond would inform me if he was in danger.
"Yeah I'm fine," Ethan rubbed his head gently.
I growled, "Who did this?"
"It was a training exorcise," Ethan smiled at me, "I wasn't paying enough attention."
"I'll tear them apart," I growled angrily.
System why wasn't I informed when Ethan was hurt?
Ally Ethan wasn't in mortal danger.
I felt my scales go up as I kept growling.
"It was a training exorcise," Ethan pulled out the med kit, "I got tagged by some of the equipment. No one did this to me."
I stopped growling, and sat down slowly.
"Is your room frozen?," Ethan started dabbing away at his face.
"A little," I had an idea flit into my mind at the mention of my frozen room.
I focused on the water affinity again. Gathering the water into a small ball no bigger than my own tiny hand. I directed it up to the cut on Ethan's chin. Spreading the water to cover the cut completely.
System detects users desire to heal ally Ethan. New skill. Healing spring level 1. Cost 1 mp for 1 hp.
I healed Ethan quickly. The cuts, and bruises he had healed quickly as the water flashed to each of his injuries one by one. Ethan touched the healed skin gently before rubbing it harder.
"Getting the hang of water magic huh?" Ethan hugged me swinging me off the ground.
"You really need to stop doing that," I squirmed in his grip as his grip loosened, "I'm not your pet you know."
Ethan dropped me, and I scurried back a few feet.
"You can't do that every time you get excited around me," I snorted, "I'm not a puppy."
I yawned slowly, and glanced back at my frozen room. I couldn't feel the cold, but that didn't change the fact that my room was mostly frozen solid. It would be like sleeping on gravel if I slept on the floor, and my bed wouldn't be much better. My scales were a lot harder than my soft human skin had been, but I could still feel it when I slept on hard surfaces. I didn't want to sleep on hard frozen floor, and the common room was off limits without Ethan to keep an eye on me.
"Can I sleep in your room tonight?" I looked at him, "Mine's kind of frozen."
"Yeah," Ethan agreed a little too fast.
"I'll be sleeping on the floor," I growled, "In the corner."
Ethan looked kind of crestfallen after that. I squinted at him a bit angrily. I couldn't have him treating me like I was his pet. Even if a small part at the back of my mind liked it. Ethan opened the door for me since I couldn't open it from the outside.
I pulled a bunch of his clothes up into a pile in the corner, and curled up on them.
"Are you sure you don't want to...." Ethan started to ask.
"Nope," I snapped, "I'm fine here. You're not going to move me, and I'm staying here."
I turned so my back was too him. Sleep came quickly after that. I didn't really care what Ethan did once I was asleep. I was just getting tired of how clingy he was. I could handle myself.
I didn't need a babysitter or a big brother. I woke up to the beeping of the alarm like usual, and stretched slowly. My wings extending, and stretching with the rest of me. I strode over to the door peeking out carefully. I could hear Ethan stirring to the alarm as I darted out of the room.
I rushed into my room, and realized the floor was soaked. I pulled the drawer out from under my bed, and looked at my soaked clothes. Everything I'd frozen yesterday was soaked.
"This sucks," I felt my water affinity stir as I smirked to myself, "But maybe I can do something about it."
Water wasn't as finicky as air. Unlike ice plain old water was easy to manipulate. I pulled the water out of my clothes first. Dispersing it into the air carefully until my clothes were dry. I moved onto the rug next.
Before I could finish a loud knock at the door startled me back into awareness.
"Did you leave already?" Ethan asked through the door.
I switched forms quickly, and pulled on my stiff dry clothes. I got the pant legs a little wet on the floor when I put them on, but I didn't care. It wasn't like having both my elements close to me bothered me all that much. I opened the door, and stepped out.
"Sorry I figured drying out my room was good practice," I stepped past him, and we headed to class.
I napped away most the boring stuff, and it was back to regular work out stuff. Right. Last week was guns, and ammo. I kind of wished I could practice with a real gun. They wouldn't allow that right now.
Didn't want any hot headed teenagers shooting each other. Although the idea of shooting someone sounded nice sometimes, but killing wasn't all that attractive of an idea. System my xp.
140/400 xp until level 6.
I don't want to be a hatchling anymore. I was jogging along in the fitness class at the end of the day just hoping the day would end that much faster. System when do I rank up?
Rank up to Youngling at level 10.
System what is the difference between hatchling, and youngling?
Mental maturity. Size. Elemental alignment. Breed.
I'm just supposed to understand that. I stopped jogging, and walked over to Ethan to sit down. System what do you mean by mental maturity?
User currently has the mental maturity of a 5 year old human child. Hatchling reaches at most the mental maturity of a 12 year old human child. Varies Individually.
What!?!?! That would be why I've been throwing fits. Why I've been angry at the drop of a hat. Why I'd jumped around my room playing with steam. Although I'd liked that last one.
System explain the others in more detail as well. Except for size. I know what that one means.
Elemental alignment. The ability to effect all available elements user has an affinity with reduced mana output. Breed. The variant of dragon user is.
Wait. There are different variants of dragon. What exactly does that mean? System what are the different breeds of dragon?
