I jumped out of bed when the alarm went off. Rushing to the bathroom so I could experiment with altering my human form. I switched forms, and looked at myself in the mirror. My unique eye colors stood out too much so I wouldn't be able to change that. I looked at my scrawny frame, and wondered how I could change it in a way that would be hard to notice.
I could ask the system to change my current form to my desired appearance over time. I wasn't a hundred percent sure the system could do that. I could always ask it, but first. I trimmed off the baby fat, but I didn't want to be a stick figure or a body builder so I went for lean toned muscle. I hadn't changed much but the difference was huge.
I'd always been a skinny kid so seeing myself with muscles was kind of freaky. System can you slowly alter my previous camo form to the form I'm currently wearing?
System is fully capable of task. Would user like system to perform this task?
(Yes) (No)
Yes. I went back to the skinny form I had before, and realized I hadn't brought any clothes with me. I grabbed a towel, and wrapped it around myself before walking back to my room to get dressed. Another day of boring classes. Lunch was good, but I was starting to feel like eating snacks after each meal. I was getting bigger, but if my appetite kept growing with each size up than I would have to start eating dinner too.
What would I do when dinner wasn't enough too? I sighed as I stood up to head for fitness class. System my xp.
145/400 xp until level 6.
I still have a ways to go before I level up again. I hopefully won't have a big jump in appetite when I do. Leveling up a couple times wouldn't hurt before we head to rift city might be a good idea though. I debated on what I would do if my appetite did spike. I might be able to ask Ethan to help me out, but people would probably notice that.
I stopped shadow boxing, and looked at Ethan.
"You want to go down to the pods later?" I stretched slowly.
"Sure," Ethan smiled, "Sounds fun."
I was exhausted by the time class got over. I really wanted this constantly tired mindset to go away, but I needed to evolve first since me being tired all the time was closely linked to me being a hatchling. I didn't feel that exhaustion in the pod, but it didn't help me much when I got out of the pod. We went to the pod room together after class ended. Ethan paid for my pod time so we could get three hours in.
I didn't like having Ethan pay for stuff like this, but I really couldn't afford it with how often I'd been damaging my clothes I couldn't carelessly spend credits. We both climbed into our pods, and were sent to the white room. Ethan quickly transferred into my lobby. I switched forms right before we entered a team match. The three random guys that were thrown onto our team seemed to know each other. I looked at Ethan.
"Want to work on our teamwork?" I asked Ethan.
"Sure," Ethan glanced at me, "Do you want me to cover you or the other way round?"
"I want you to cover me," I stretched my virtual body, "I have a couple spells I want to work on. Mainly my ice spells."
The starting horn went off. I ignored the destroyed city around me as I quickly switched forms. I didn't have a great sense of smell, but I did have my awesome vision. I switched to infrared.
"I can see the enemy," I snorted before getting moving.
I kept my pace fairly slow so Ethan could keep up. He was pretty fit for a human, but I was super fast. I ran around a collapsed building so that we were off to the side of the enemy group.
"I'm going to try something," I glanced back at Ethan, "Stop them from attacking me."
I started climbing the building quickly. Making my way around a half destroyed ledge until I was above the enemy team. I jumped off the ledge. Dropping to the ground quickly as I cast freeze zone. This instant my talons hit the ground everything near me froze.
The two closest to me of the five players we'd snuck past broke into yellow particles from being frozen to death. I jumped on another as he tried to break free of the frozen ground. I dug my talons into him so I had a secure grip. Wrapping my tail around his middle as I sunk my teeth into his shoulder. I felt him try to grab my neck to pry me off, and the spines on the back of my neck reacted by raising up so his fingers could fit between them.
Then slammed back down. Cutting off all of his fingers as I pulled a chunk out of his virtual shoulder. Tossing it to the side before going for the throat. He burst into yellow particles, and I sunk to the ground looking around quickly. Ethan had already taken out the last two.
3 virtual human enemies defeated. 75 xp awarded. 220/400 xp until level 6.
I might just level up sooner than I thought. I heard a gunshot, and darted to the side.
"Hide," I hissed through clenched teeth at Ethan before rushing into one of the destroyed buildings.
I looked around in my infrared vision. Searching for who had shot at us.
"Ethan," I shouted out, "How good is your throwing?"
I spotted the heat signature, and focused on it.
"Not bad," Ethan yelled back from where he was hiding, "Why?"
"Can you aim where I tell you?" I switched back to normal vision, and glanced out of my hiding spot as I was shot at again.
"Yeah," Ethan shouted back.
I switched in infrared, and looked over to Ethan. Then back up to the sniper.
"Your twelve o'clock," I shouted, "Two hundred, and fifteen feet up. Five feet from the edge."
I stared at the target waiting. Just when I started to worry Ethan hadn't heard me the target disappeared.
"Nice," I jumped out, and glanced Ethan's way, "But now we gotta move. They probably know where we are now."
