Long ago there was a man shrouded in the markings of stars, his hair gray like the moon on a mistful night, and his eyes a deep shade of blue. He was cursed by the heavens for being born, everywhere he travelled disaster followed; storms ravaged the forests, rockslides destroyed pathways, it even went so far as a man dying in his sleep when he housed the shrouded man for a night. The shrouded man lived his life in solitude hoping that one day he may be free of his accursed fate, he even contemplated ending it all, but he knew it never would've lasted, every time he would pass on he would awaken the next day feeling more disconnected from reality than before. His life went on and on and on and on for many decades until one day he came across a small cabin in the woods, the cabin was small in size just large enough for a small family but this one clearly looked abandoned with moss and vines growing the cobbled chimney and bushes riddles with berries overgrown covering most of one side even blocking sight into the abode via a window. At first, the man saw nothing in the house, it was a small cabin in the woods left for who knows how long, but then he heard the sound of crying nearby in the woods. He curiously went out in search of the source of the crying and came across the dead bodies of two adult Terrans holding a small child still very much alive. The surrounding scene could only be described as an ambush with the wreckage of a carriage another dead body, probably the carriage driver, and blood splattered around both human and beast. He looked back at the Terran infant and even though he knew it was dangerous he picked them up and cradled them, stopping the crying.
"Curious." He spoke softly, "Both your parents and the man driving the carriage have died but you lived, you were spared." He poked the child's forehead. with the response of the child smiling and looking back at him with large similar green eyes. Many thoughts passed through his mind but he shook his head and rocked the child back and forth.
"Don't worry, you are safe at least for now, I'll protect you, little one." He promised before turning back into the forest. "I will raise you till you can fend for yourself, I think I'll name you, Nexius."
