~~~Reader's POV~~~
Stumbling into an unknown village, weak and wounded. Many pairs of eyes watching as I collapse just as I make it through the main gates. My fall was heavier than it should've been. I guess that's because I was carrying a ninja on my back. This was his village. His forehead protector matched the leaf symbol on the gates. Inaudible shouts were being bounced around as my eyes closed disobediently. Ignoring the command I was giving them. 'Stay wake! Stay…awake…'
~~~Kakashi's POV~~~
'It's already been two days and she hasn't woken up yet. I hope she's okay.' As I reached out my hand to hold hers there was a knock at the door. I quickly pulled my hand back and cleared my throat.
"Come in."
It was Sakura. She had requested to be the main nurse taking after this mysterious (and very beautiful) girl.
"Oh, Kakashi Sensei, what are you still doing here?"
She was eyeing me inquisitively.
"Oh, hey, Sakura…" Quickly I came up with an excuse…er…reason, that is.
"I don't have any missions or assignments currently so the Hokage asked me to guard her and report immediately if she woke up." Which was true but I didn't have to be so, umm, dedicated…
"Guard her? Why does she need protecting?"
I sighed. "Well, based on the information that we received from Masuko once he had woken up, it's safe to assume that she may be targeted."
Clearly stilled puzzled Sakura silently checked over the girl. I guess she didn't want to seem behind by asking more questions.
'Sigh…' "Masuko was the only surviving member in his team."
Sakura, shocked, looked at me and stopped what she was doing, prodding me to explain further.
They were on their way back from a mission when the saw that a nearby village was on fire. It was the Dancing Lotus village, home to many peaceful people. They heard screams and rushed over to help. The village was being attacked by a group of very powerful bandits. The group of criminals was quite powerful, killing all of his team and leaving him unconscious. After killing everyone, including women and children the burned the village and took off. If it wasn't for her he would've been left there. But she carried him all of the way here. A ninja traveling full speed would get there in about 6 hours. But on foot, carrying someone while you're injured, it must have taken her at least a day and a half. It's incredible that she is alive. If it wasn't for her Masuko would have died, along with some of the remaining villagers. We sent a respond team as quickly as we could, and found some villagers still alive."
Sakura looked down at the weak girl.
"I hope she wakes up." She said with a sad tone.
"We all do. But she needs protection from the group of people. We still don't know who they are or why exactly they attacked her village. But it seems that they're not the type to leave witnesses."
~~~Reader's POV~~~
I opened my eyes and looked around me. The room I was in slowly focused into view. I had bandages wrapped all around me and an IV draining into my arm. There was a warm, gentle feeling that clasped my right hand. Testing out my muscles I slightly squeezed it, which sent pain shooting through me. 'Maybe I should hold off a bit from moving for now.' I traced with my eyes who the hand intertwined with mine belonged to. I about fainted, AGAIN, when I saw a ridiculously attractive ninja sleeping with his head down on the side of my bed. Most of his face was covered and he had silky silver hair that defied the laws of gravity. Although I could only see a fourth of his face, he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. 'Wait, was he here all night??' I felt my face go hot as I blushed, surely turning a new shade of red. I smiled at the thought of him keeping me company. It was sweet. He looked so peaceful as he slept, I could look at him forever. But I had so many questions that I needed the answers to.
