~~~Reader's POV~~~
Kakashi and I packed up camp and started for my village again. It didn't take us long since we were pretty close. I stopped as began to see the main gates come into view. Uncertainty and doubt came over me. I was afraid of what I might see, or what I might remember. 'What if I remember my past? What if I don't like the person I was?' All of these thoughts and more rushed through my mind. Then I felt a familiar hand take mine, pulling me away from my thoughts.
"It's going to be alright, ___" Kakashi said with a smile upon his masked features.
A smile came to my face. "Thank you, Kakashi. You always know what to say. I'm so glad you came with me."
"Shall we go, then?" he said as he held my hand reassuringly. I nodded as we started walking again. My heart pounded harder with each step we took as the gap between us and the village diminished. I felt tears well up in my eyes as I saw the destruction, there was barely anything left. Only the ashes of what were homes to once happy families. Emotion rushed through me as I felt the loss of everything I had forgotten. It was heartbreaking and relieving to be able to mourn after all of these months. Then something buried under the rubble caught my eye, I picked the object up and brushed it off as well as I could. It was a teddy bear with a silver necklace draped around it. On the pendant was a raw diamond surrounded by raw rubies. A flash of memory came to me as I touched the necklace. It was the memory of my mom hugging me, but this time it had more detail. And around my mother's neck I saw this necklace. 'Thank you, mom.' I thought as I clung to the bear and put it safely in my bag. We kept on walking in silence when suddenly I tripped and fell to the ground.
"Crap!" I yelled, looking at the trip wire my feet so gracefully found.
"Be on guard," Kakashi said as he helped me up. "The enemy may be coming." Just then an explosive kunai pierced the ground right in front of me, letting out a loud bang. Kakashi and I retreated into the tree tops just in time to miss the fatal blow.
"Shit!" He exclaimed, banging his fist against the tree trunk. "I should've known this would happen. I never should have let you come here he said." His voice laced with worry. "Anyway, we're here now and we have to face them Are you ready for this?" I nodded as I listened to him form a plan. I stayed in the tree tops, nervously watching as Kakashi appeared in front of our attackers.
"Oy! Where's that cute little toy you had with you, we'd like to have some fun with her." Said the leader of the group, with his men maliciously chuckling at his comment.
Kakashi just blankly stared at them as he nonchalantly said, "Were you the ones that attacked this village?"
"Yeah," said the bandits, "what's it to you?"
"It's personal." Kakashi said revealing his sharingan eye and swiftly doing a hand sign. "Hidden Mist Jutsu!" Suddenly a thick fog appeared, making it impossible to see. Suddenly I heard the cries of the enemy as Kakashi was taking them out one by one. I was worried for Kakashi but knew how much of a capable strong ninja he is. But somehow the mist started to fade drastically, and I could see once more. 'Did he get them all?' I thought to myself, until I saw Kakashi fall limply to the ground.
"KAKASHI!" I ran over to him, not even thinking of the consequences. 'I don't care if I get killed Kakashi needs me.'I thought, kneeling by him.
"There she is." Proclaimed the leader in a scruff voice. "It was troublesome, but I got you to come out, now you're mine." I returned the man's fierce glare with rage welling up inside me. Kakashi was still alive, but in some kind of coma. 'What kind of jutsu is this?' I think to myself. 'I have to protect him, no matter what. I can't lose him too.'
"Ohhh! We have a feisty one here! I guess I'll just have to break you of that." All of a sudden a gush of water came toward me like a tsunami, I didn't have time to distance myself from the attack and the wave suddenly turned into sharp water bullets.
'What the-?!' I instinctively did a hand sign and a dome of solid rock formed around Kakashi and I and the earth soaked up my attacker's water. The dome broke revealing me and Kakashi unharmed, I smirked to see the shock on the men's faces.
"You can't get away with what you have done!" I yelled, a new confidence coming to me. "Let's finish this!"
My chakra suddenly felt different as I quickly did a hand sign " Lotus Coffin!" Instantly giant lotus flowers sprouted up and engulfed the bandits. The petals began quickly spiraling together, crushing them to death. I looked over at Kakashi, still passed out, but safe. All of a sudden a wave of exhaustion came over me. 'I guess I used too much chakra…'
