Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"Hey, Kimera! Melody is awake!" I heard Tommy say as I opened my eyes. I realized that we were in another room, a storage room. I sat up and hugged Tommy, crying. "W-W-What?!" Tommy said, blushing. "What happened?! Tommy, what did you do!" Kimera exclaimed, clearly angry. "I don't know!" Tommy said, panicking. I was so happy to be back, and I was still kind of loopy I just yelled "I love you!" out of nowhere. He just froze in place, not knowing what to do. I giggled a bit and stood up, a then I hugged Kimera to make it fair. He just laughed. "Wow, I didn't think of you to be the type to have wet dreams," Kimera said, chuckling a bit more. "Well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a wet dream." I said, getting some water from the supply closet. My answer must've surprised Kimera because he doubled over, laughing loudly.

"You really are somethin' else! I can't believe it! Haha!" Kimera said, in-between hysterical laughs. "Well, we still have to explore this place. Let's go!" I said, holding Tommy's hand and going to the vent. "Wait! I go first, remember? I'm the leader of this group." Kimera said, pushing us to the side and climbing into the vent. I took that time to go up to Tommy while Kimera was climbing in the vent. "Please, stay by my side no matter what happens," I whisper, clinging to his shirt. "O-Okay, I promise, Melody," Tommy said, hugging me back. "Hey, lovebirds, I'm waiting!" Kimera said, raising his voice a bit. "Wait, we need food first. We haven't eaten in days." Tommy said, letting me go. "No, Tommy, we don't. Let's just go and be done with this. I can end this horrible ship if we can get to the engine. I can just blow it up now, but I don't know where it is. There are multiple rooms that I can't see." Kimera said, climbing out.

"Can we just eat a little bit?" Tommy said, walking to one of the boxes. "NO. I AM THE LEADER SO I MAKE THE RULES!!!" Kimera said, making a threatening gesture towards Tommy. "D-Don't hurt him!" I said, walking up to him and pulling his hand away. "What. Did. You. Just. Do?!?!" Kimera said, his murderous aura emanating off of him. I could tell that he wasn't able to really think anymore. Tommy grabbed my arm and started pulling me to the door. "W-What are you doing?!" I said as he was opening the door. "Saving our lives!" Tommy said, stepping out of the room and closing the door. He put some tall, heavy things in front of it. I looked around and noticed that we were in a pretty long hallway with what looked like hotel doors lining it. "Let's go before he busts through that stuff!" Tommy said, getting ready to run. "Yeah, let's go!" I said as me and Tommy both started taking off down the hallway. At the end of the hallway, there was an elevator, so when Tommy and I got there we pressed the 'down' button and turned back to where Kimera was. We saw a red glow emanating from behind the tall boxes and got a bit scared.

I could tell that something very bad was going to happen and I got ready to either run or fight back. The elevator dinged, alerting us to the fact that it was here, and we jumped int it and pressed the first-floor button. Then, as the doors closed, we heard a loud boom from the storage room and saw Kimera bolting towards us, his black knife emanating a red aura and a big grin on his face. The doors closed just in time, and we realized that the first floor was for authorized personnel only. It had a fingerprint scanner. Just then, I remembered how my mom was the one in charge off the construction. I knew I had to go there, though the button looked absolutely untouched. We were waiting, and the elevator was going down smoothly, until floor six. Then it started falling, and Tommy grabbed me and jumped right when it hit the ground, so we didn't die. The elevator opened like normal and we walked out. In front of us was yet another hallway, except at the end of it there was no door. There were four doors in this hallway, a lot less than the other one. I then thought a very scary thought, what if they see us and eat us?

I was kind of worried that that would happen, so I turned to Tommy and tugged on his shirt. Once I got his attention, I said "H-Hey, we should probably go," while pointing to the darkened corner at the end of the wall. "Sure, but I don't know how two people can fit in that one darkened corner," Tommy said, walking through the hallway to the corner with me. "Actually, I know how to do that. I'm small so I can just sit on your lap." I said as we reached the corner. "... Are you sure about this?" Tommy said while sitting down. "Pretty sure, yeah," I said, sitting down on his lap. Just then, we got completely silent because two men walked out of a room that looked pretty royal. They were dressed in red capes, armor, and a helmet. They were pretty scary because they were equipped with swords, and because of how tall they were, though everyone is tall to me since I'm shorter than most. That's when I noticed that that room might have my mom in it, as one of the founders, but there was also another door, but it was really scary looking. There seemed to be a person living there since it was labeled "The dungeon girl's home.

I kinda want to help the person in there. There's no way someone can be that evil, I know it. "I think we should check in the door with the poem on it," I whispered to Tommy. "Well, I guess, but why? And how are we supposed to get in there?" Tommy inquired, looking at the door. "We could throw this," I said, shifting a bit to get the apple I took from the storage room. "Nice! Okay, give it to me, and I'll throw it near them." Tommy said, reaching his hand out. I gave him the apple, and he threw it near the guards, just like he said. He then picked me up, and crouch-ran to the door while the guards were walking up to the apple. He twisted the knob gently, opened the door, and snuck in the room. There we saw my mom laying in a chair, almost lifeless, watching a bunch of super bright TVs that were around her. I walked up to her, worried that she wouldn't be alive, and pulled out two tomatoes. I remember her loving tomatoes. She didn't notice me, but she was definitely alive! She was still blinking, and her eyes darted from screen to screen.

I was so excited to see her, and apparently so was Tommy. We both hugged her, but she didn't notice. She looked so bad off like they just left her here to die. Not even obstructing her view of the TVs worked. Tommy was getting a bit sad and started giving up, but I had an idea. I opened her mouth and made her take a bite out of one of the tomatoes. Just then, her eyes widened and she started chewing the tomato, pleased by the taste. I hugged her and she hugged me back, crying. Tommy rushed over and hugged her too. We let go and she was smiling so wide, it warmed my heart. "T-Tommy, Melody, I-I'm so happy to see you! I-It's been so... so long since I've seen you guys. Ever since this... this wretched boat started sailing, 10 years ago. Melody, I believe you and Tommy are both 18, right?" my mom said, still a bit teary-eyed. "I guess so. Well, why don't we catch up a bit and think about how to get out of here." Tommy said, smiling and patting my mom's shoulder. "I guess we'll have to go through my sister first..." My mom said, looking at her door. What happened next was so... scary for me.

Mom was right in front of us, and we were actually talking. I was really curious if my memory actually happened or if it all was a dream, so I asked my mom. "U-Um... Mom? Do you remember someone swooping in and saving you... and did that person happen to look like me?" I said, looking at my mom who was fairly confused. "U-UM, FORGET I SAID ANYTHING! Oh god, I'm such an idiot..." I said, burying my tomato-red face in my palms and dying inside from sheer embarrassment. Tommy started giggling to himself and I noticed that he actually looks pretty cool when he smiles. My mom smiled warmly and she patted me on the head. "I would never forget that day, never in my life." She said, clearly happy to see me safe. I started to want to know what my powers were and what I'm capable of, as well as the purpose this boat has and the reason why it was built. I.. I had so many questions.
