Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

"Hm? Melody, what's wrong?" My mom said, her and Tommy looking at me. "Oh, I just have a lot of questions. Could you tell me more about the boat, and about me and Kimera?" I said, hopeful that she'd answer at least one of those questions. My hope was shot down though, because of her reluctant response. "Melody, I know you have plenty of questions, and you serve to know the answers to all of them, but these questions can't be answered by just me. It would be biased and it wouldn't be the completely correct answer. I can help you remember some of the powers you have, but frankly, I don't think I can do that much for you. You have to find your own answers. Though, we should probably start by talking to my sister." My mom said, looking at the floor with a face of sadness and disappointment. I was satisfied with her answer, though, so I hugged her. Tommy then started waving his arms at us and "shooshing" us.

He backed away from the door and the door swung open, two soldiers bursting inside with their swords unsheathed. One of then had lively green eyes that I could see through the helmet, while the other had cold and calculating, blue eyes. Tommy was about to fight them but my mom told him to stop. "We came to escort you to her highness, you wretched witch. I guess we'll bring your two Looker guests with us as well, hmm?" The soldier with the green eyes said, bringing his sword dangerously close to her neck. I got a little bit nervous because the soldier with blue eyes was staring directly at me as if trying to go through a mental database to find out as much about me as he can. I don't exactly look normal, I have dark purple eyes. Pair that up with the fact that I have long, black hair and a sort of... magical ability and I'm pretty much a witch myself. "Lead the way, gentlemen." My mom said in a hateful tone.

The men put us all in handcuffs and escorted us to a different room than the fancy room. They dropped mom off in there and I was so scared for her. They put Tommy in a room and finally, they put me in a room. There was an officer in every room and in my case, I got the officer the blue eyes. He threw a bundle of clothes my way and said "Change, and make it quick. The queen isn't the patient type." I went into the farthest corner of the room and changed and then he took my original clothes and put me in handcuffs again. He checked his watch and he looked a bit surprised, but honestly, I could barely tell. I could only see his eyes, so I didn't know. "U-Um... W-Why are we going to the queen?" I said, looking him in the eyes. "You're lucky we're doing this. If we saw you people to any threat, we would have eradicated every one of you without hesitation." He said, in a threatening tone. "O-Okay then, can you tell me what is going to happen to my m- I mean the woman I was with? Why is she called a witch?" I asked, still looking him in the eyes, despite how scary they were. "You're a strange one, kid. Must be pretty stupid to still be asking me questions." He said, looking at his watch again.

That guy really pushed my buttons. "Well, since you're so obedient I'll answer those questions. The queen will decide what happens to her, but she probably won't be killed. Her highness is gracious enough to let a monster like her live another day. And the reason why she's a monster is that she uses magic and when she uses it, her eyes glow yellow. Pretty disturbing. Now let's go." The man said as he escorted me to the door and opened the big door to reveal a giant room covered in expensive cloth and plated with gold. We were walking onto a stage, and there were a bunch of seats with people in every chair. I was very out of place and when my mom and Tommy came out they lined us all up in front of everyone. We all had worn down and dirty

clothes. They put collars and leashes on us and then the officers that brought us there took the leashes and made us stand. I felt so mortified. "Well, well, well. Here we are again with a showing of the witch! This time, though, we'll see how good the others are at dancing. Time for the show of...The Wicked Witch and her Wretched Wizards!!!" A lady in a big gown that I assumed is the queen said as she walked to her seat, passing by me.

The officers tugged our leashes and walked us to the middle of the stage. They then tied all our leashes together and started making us run in a circle. "This game is going to be called, the Coordination Station! The Wicked Witch needs her disciples to be quick on their feet, so let's see how they fare in this game. There will be blades shot at you and you'll either need to get low, jump, or do nothing. Don't disappoint me, you wretched witch." The Queen said, grinning away. It was hard to run in unison, so I said something. "Hey, guys! I'll keep our feet going at the same time and you two lookout for the blades!" I said, starting to repeat "Left, left, left right left!" It was going pretty well, but then I felt extreme bloodlust coming from somewhere. I looked around and I saw Kimera, about to jump at the Queen. I basically strangled myself to get out of the circle when I saw him jump and I flew towards Kimera and kicked him. He was completely blinded by bloodlust, and it was really scary.

I was already out of breath and a bunch of officers came rushing, and thankfully Kimera just slashed me in the stomach instead of stabbing me and he started slicing my arms and laughing hysterically. I got him off of me and went into the air, only to get shot by a tranquilizer. Everyone evacuated already and the game stopped but since I was unable to move, Kimera went to town on my back, and unfortunately, I could still feel it, but I couldn't scream, just cry. My sight was fogging up, but I know that he got away, it's Kimera. At that moment, I swore to myself that the next time I see him, I'll win.

I woke up in a white room and I was wrapped up in bandages. I remembered what happened and I looked around the room. There were people outside of the room talking, including Tommy and my mom. They were still handcuffed though. I tried to get up and got hit with a big wave of pain from my back and stomach. I lied down for a bit, gradually getting used to the pain, and then I sat up. It really hurt, so I was crying a lot. Tommy saw me and pointed at me, and then everyone went into the room and two doctors came over and said that usually, the wounds would be fatal, but I seem to be healing really fast so I'm not going to die. Then they let Tommy and my mom talk with me. "I-I'm so glad you're okay. I... I thought I lost you." My mom said, hugging me and crying. "I'm not going anywhere. More importantly, I need somewhere to practice my power, because Tommy and I kinda made Kimera go into killer mode... so..." I whispered while we were hugging. "Oh... Okay, I'll tell Tommy. Be careful, they're about to treat you very poorly and use you. Please focus and use judgment and faith to tell if they're lying, okay?" My mom whispered as the officers started to walk towards them and escort them out of the room. I nodded and smiled.
