Kajus laid there in the grass lifeless, without moving a single muscle while Aron stood above him looking at Moonfred who had been beaten half to death.
"I will bring him to the healers tent, Grinda gather wood, we will hold a funeral and burn Geoff's body, also take care that Kajus doesn't do anything while I am gone" Aron said.
Grinda nodded while Aron picked Moonfred up, he walked towards the healers tent while Grinda went to get wood.
"It's just the two of us now" Kajus said.
"I hope that you rest easy, I do not feel saddened by your death but I do feel empty and angry.
I don't know why I am angry, I am usually very calm and rarely get upset. Maybe this is how it feels growing up, I usually saw mother and dad angry when I did something bad so maybe all adults feel this anger."
Kajus looked over to Geoff's corpse thinking that he would respond back, but was only met with silence. They lied there until Grinda got back, she held a couple of logs which she put down next to Geoff's body, then she looked over to Kajus who laid there un-moving. She couldn't find anything to say so she walked away to get more lumber.
Aron got back after 10 minutes and found a large pile of wood next to Geoff, he also found an un-moving Kajus and an out of breath Grinda.
"I need your help Kajus, we will burn his body as is tradition."
"OK"
They built the pyre and put Geoff's body on top, several clan members gathered while Aron threw a flaming torch into the pyre, setting it ablaze.
"goodbye dear friend, you were a great person, I hope you will find peace and reunite with your family in the after life." Aron said.
Several people saluted including Grinda while Kajus just looked at the fire that was burning away at Geoff's body.
Suddenly a sharp pain stunned Kajus, he fell down to his knees while gnashing his teeth in pain, he let out a harrowing scream.
"IT HURTS, GET THE HEALER-"
He choked on his tongue and vomited out a grey/black liquid. The healer who was among the crowd watched Kajus in pain, he didn't act.
"HEALER!" Kajus yelled
"Fine..." a nonchalant tone was heard as the healer took short strides towards Kajus.
several people looked at Kajus with interest, they are probably wondering what is happening.
The healer forced a liquid down his throat and swiftly walked away, which shocked many.
"hehe, he is probably angry from earlier" a voice was heard among the crowd.
"Yeah so what?, this rookie thinks he can order our healer as he wants, with that kind of ego he is not fit to be a part of our clan" another voice said.
Several people laughed and decided to walk away.
Only a few people were left, they where there to watch Kajus as his body started to warp, It did look interesting.
Kajus screamed in pain as tears of pain were dropped from his cheeks, he laid there in a fetus position as the crowd berated him and his pain distracted him from how he was viewed by other people. He did not care about how he looked, he just wanted the pain to stop.
As the pain kept going blood started to flow heavily from his wound on his arm, Aron and Grinda finally took action and picked Kajus up, they brought him to their tent. They bandaged his wound and lit up the fireplace.
"IT HURTS, PLEASE HELP. WHAT THE FUCK DID THAT DOCTOR GIVE ME! IT DIDN'T HELP FUUUUCK"
"Calm down Kajus it will soon be over, the doctor said that your potion has a nasty side effect so this must be it, but it will be over soon, I am sure of it" Grinda said in a calming tone.
Suddenly Kajus passed out.
--
Kajus opened his eyes and felt awful, his head hurt, his body was tired and his stomach was growling.
'oh thank god, the pain stopped' Kajus thought
he tried to sit up in his bed but his body didn't respond.
'why can't i move?'
He tried to call for Aron and Grinda but his voice didn't come out, he noticed that the only thing he could move was his neck and eyes.
After 1 hour Grinda walked into the tent and saw that Kajus had his eyes wide open, his eyes were wide awake but he didn't talk or greet Grinda when she came in, she was a little frightened by this.
'Please give me water and food, PLEASE GRINDA!' he yelled in his head, the only thing Grinda could see was those eyes staring at her.
"I didn't know you were awake," she said, smiling at Kajus.
"Aron has reported now what happened and the captain is awake, he said that the grey orc is dead! isn't that great? we now are preparing to kill off the rest of their tribe so that they wont become a future nuisance!" she said in a happy tone.
"Kajus? are you okay? why arent you saying anything?"
'we know each other please realise that i can't move! ffs I haven't eaten in forever please realise this'
"I am sorry Kajus, the healer has been here several times, you are probably shocked, the haler said that its permanent and that he couldn't do anything"
' what is she talking about, am I going to be like this for the rest of my life?!' Kajus felt his world bear down at what Grinda said, an elephant began to jump atop his chest and a stone weighing a ton appeared in his stomach.
'no no no no no no, it can't be.... GRINDA PLEASE, mom, dad, my sis-'
A tear dropped from his eyes as he thought about his family. He felt incredibly depressed.
"Kajus.." Grinda said, she walked up to him and sat herself besides Kajus while stroking his hair. She sat there for 10 minutes just caressing his hair, making Kajus feel a little bit better.
"rest now"
Grinda walked away leaving the tent, leaving Kajus alone with his thoughts.
Kajus felt hard emotions as he screamed for his family in his head.
As Kajus was trying his hardest to move, the healer walked in. As he saw the tears on his cheeks he frowned a little but quickly returned to his nonchalant look.
"You will be able to move soon but there was nothing I could do about your arm, It's not as bad as it looks you will have increased strength with that arm!, but it does look weird but a lot of things look weird so don't be too sad about it"
"Anyways we will send you back to Dalelry with the caravan that's leaving later today so drink this"
arm? I will be able to move?' Suddenly the weight on his chest left and the stone in his stomach left his body, but he was still worried, arm?'
