As time passed Kajus could finally move about, the first thing he did was to look at his arm, the arm looked very odd, it was much bigger compared to his other arm and it was proportionally odd.
"what the fuck is this!?"
He didn't get angry but he was confused.
'the potion seller didn't tell me anything about this'
As he started to feel a little angry his stomach quickly stopped him from feeling such an emotion. He quickly walked over to a spot he had put emergency rations, he pulled out 1 kilo of dried salted meat and a canteen of water, he drank half the canteen and made short work off of the dried meat.
As he finished eating, Grinda walked in. "you are finally up!"
"Grinda I couldn't move when you came in last time I didn't mean to glare at you, I tried opening my mouth and nothing would come out"
Grinda laughed a little and said "oh so thats why, don't worry you must have freaked out. Are you also going home?, apparently the upcoming fight is going to be rather easy, there are only about 30 orcs left said the captain and we have catapults and horses"
"yes the healer said I am returning with the caravan"
"Anyways you must be hungry, there is still food being given out by the cafeteria, well maybe not cafeteria but at the big pot!"
"yeah let's go eat!"
--
Time quickly passed and the two got onto the caravan to head home, the trip lasted 3 days and there was no creepy bunny this time, on the trip Kajus and Grinda talked and bonded a lot, they told each other stories from their past. Grinda didn't talk about the arm a lot, but when she did talk about it she only said positive things like "Now you can wield a large axe!" and "it doesn't look that bad in my opinion, there are no scars besides the wound you got and it looks cool"
Those comments gave Kajus a lot of confidence and he didn't feel bad about his arm at all anymore.
As they arrived at the city they both had smiles on their faces, their adventure was finally over and now they can enjoy their time, they have yet to be paid but it will come after they have established the town and when the noble has paid the captain. Although Kajus didn't need money, he was giving away a lot of it to his parents and his sister.
Thinking about his family, Kajus began to sweat and feel hot and a strong sense of worry began to overtake him.
'no I can't meet my family like this, maybe i'll get a mask to cover my face and a cape like the captain to cover my arm.
With distress written all over his face Grinda who also looked a little distressed asked
"Why the face? we are finally home"
"Hey Grinda I-"
Grinda had a curious face as she blushed a little.
"lets kill time, let's go out to eat, let me first get some coins"
"okay!" Grinda responded.
Kajus walked into the clan house and went to grab his coin, he opened his door and grabbed the whole bag of coins which had 990 gold coins in it. He left his bow, glaive and arrows in his room but he did not leave his sword, the sword comforted him a little bit and he didn't feel right just leaving with no weapon.
He quickly returned to Grinda.
"Where should we go? I know a few places but they are pretty expensive!" Grinda said
"I don't know, I do know some local café's and restaurants but I don't really want to go there right now"
'I can't go to where I and my family used to go or they might see me'
--
They walked around town side by side, chatting and enjoying the peaceful environment.
They walked by a café which looked new and went inside, the café was called Herald's beverages.
As they walked in they were faced with a luxurious inside design, there was a large red carpet with swords embroidered into the carpet, the chairs looked comfortable with cushioned backs and cushioned seats, the tables where of a dark wood and they had an elegant look to them, the ceiling was tall and it had 2 large chandeliers lightening up the place, the windows were stained with a different depictions of heroes and mythological beings.
They walked up to the counter and ordered, Kajus ordered a newly baked pie with a bottle of wine, Grinda didn't order anything under the impression that they were going to share the pie and bottle of wine.
'Damn she isn't ordering anything! I am a big guy. I need that whole pie, my sister always does this as well!'
They sat down with the order in a window seat, there weren't a lot of customers in this café but it didn't feel empty.
"These room dividers really give you privacy huh? it's like we are the only people in this restaurant, they are probably enchanted with magic to isolate sounds as well! really fascinating!"
Grinda looked like she was in awe.
"you have an interest in magic, I presume?" Kajus asked
"yes i guess, I just think it's really neat how there are barely any limitations! I can still vividly see that star that was the captain in my dreams and everytime I close my eyes, It was truly magical!"
"me too that scene will be incredibly hard to forget and I really don't want to forget it"
They closed their eyes at the same time to relive that scene that made them both amazed. When they opened their eyes they breathed a longing sigh, Kajus really wished that he could do something like that.
"I really wish I was good at magic like you or the captain"
"Have you taken an aptitude test?" asked Grinda
"I have, I have horrible flow apparently"
"you know I was born with a horrible flow as well but I trained hard and now my flow is better. Sometimes you just need to get in touch with your magical side." she happily said before giggling.
"and a small detail I forgot to mention is that they did give me an item to enhance my flow with magic, I am from a rich family after all"
"so you're saying there's a chance ?"
