Shortly after the captain vanished in front of the group's eyes one could see a bright white light above the orc encampment following a large white pillar crashing down right on top of the large center building followed by a much smaller light that landed on top of the construct pillar of light. The light was in the shape of a man, Kajus saw the man standing on top of the pillar as the man stood there and gently lifted his fist into the air. The fist started to shine more brightly as things around the fist including the light above that seemed to transport the captain to his destination started to fade, all the light sources seemed to seep into the captains fist.
Kajus looked around him and noticed that he could hardly see as if he had dark lenses over his eyes, everything was grey, even the torch was hard to see which Geoff was holding 2 meters away from him. Slowly Kajus couldn't even see his hands. It seemed as if the only light source in the whole world was that star in front of him.
'Did i die? what is this cold dark world?'
Suddenly the star in front of him started to pulsate and it dived down fast, shortly following the dive a large explosion of light, everything within a 10 km radius was lit up as if the sun walked on the earth, it was incredibly blinding, even after closing his eyes he felt that his eyes stung a little bit.
Suddenly everything returned to normal, it was night once again and the torch illuminated the group as they watched the orc camp with shocked gazes.
'was that magic? How is such a thing even possible, it looked like he subjugated the earth itself, bending reality.'
Kajus has never felt more in awe over anything ever, that spectacle will stay fresh in his mind for a very long time.
Suddenly the captain's horse was seen running towards the group, it didn't look any different but Kajus felt like it was in distress.
"should we go in and save the captain he might've been hurt, look at his steed it ran right past us and its running towards the encampment." Aron said
The group hesitated a bit before Geoff looked over to the group and gave a small nod, Geoff pulled out his sword and started to run. Aron followed him.
Kajus and Grinda looked at each other and nodded at each other, they both started going towards the camp!
Grinda and Kajus were both very ill but the light washed away their sickness allowing them to feel refreshed, their adrenaline started pumping the second they decided that they were going to go and help the captain.
Kajus readied his bow standing behind Geoff and Aron, Grinda stood behind them as well, seemingly ready to cast her spells.
The closer they got the more weird sounds they picked up, groaning sounds, screaming sounds and galloping sounds. The group knew that the galloping sounds were coming from captains steed that had already barged into the camp, they also guessed that the groaning came from the orcs as it seemed like human groaning but not really. When the party of three neared the camp they saw the broken down gate.
'the horse must've broken down the gate while going in,' Kajus thought.
Suddenly from the gate the captain's steed ran out with full speed ahead, on top of the horse laid a body that looked unconscious, it was the captain. The horse quickly ran off, followed by the horse, a group of 8 orcs followed exiting the camp.
Their happiness from seeing the captain quickly faded when the group realized that the horse was just going to run back to safety while their group was now left alone fending for themselves. The group guessed that the grey orc was now dead, meaning that even though they might be able to reach the tree they would not be safe since the orcs would not care for any borders now that their leader is dead.
A panicked expression was seen on Kajus and Grinda as they realized the position they were in. They were still about 50 meters away from the gate and the group of orcs, so they had time to think and process.
Kajus might be naive but he as everyone with him knew that they had to first defeat the group in front of them since orcs were faster than humans so running was not an option especially now that there were no safe spaces nearby.
Bringing out his potion he drank it in one gulp, he immediately felt dizziness followed by a growing sensation in his body, the growing sensation he was feeling was both literally as well as figuratively, suddenly many sharp pains were felt around his body as he started to grow.
Followed by the pain he also felt unrivaled and strong, it didn't feel like it came from nowhere like hot air or over confidence but more from a substantiated stand point like he was actually very strong now.
The sharp pain went away and he was left standing at a height of 2 meters tall, he didn't loiter around to test his strength, he quickly readied his bow and his spark arrow.
The group saw Kajus as he transformed making his past appearance look like a small child in comparison. They were shocked for a brief second but they couldn't afford to stand around and look at him.
The group of orcs were seemingly confused as they were still at the gate even after the 5 seconds that had passed where Kajus had drunk his potion, they probably wanted to chase the horse and realising that they couldn't really chase it they were left standing at the gate.
When the orcs noticed the growing man in front of them to the left of them they started to run towards the group.
The orcs were large with big clubs or lazy put together metal that had pointy ends, it was not the work of any master blacksmiths but they did seem heavy and deadly. The orcs had minimal armor probably because they didn't have a skilled blacksmith, the only armor they had where hidden covering barely 20% of their upper body.
An arrow was released, hitting an orc in the leg followed by a bright spark that dug the arrow deeper into the orcs leg, the orc quickly fell and screamed.
The rest of the orcs were not intimidated and they did not slow down, another projectile hit one of the orcs this time in the right lower arm, this projectile was not an arrow but magic, it was Grinda's magic that had dug a flesh wound into one of the orcs.
The orc that got hit by Grinda only sneered and it did not stop running, shortly after the projectile that Grinda had landed on the orc the same orc got an arrow fired at him.
The arrow that hit the orc in the forehead quickly killing it.
The orcs were now only 10 meters away, Geoff and Aron began to run towards the orcs, they clashed hard but to no use, there were still 6 orcs left and only 2 humans clashed with the 6 orcs.
Geoff got hit by a club and immediately was sent flying, Aron blocked a slice made from one of the orcs and quickly poked his sword forward into the orcs throat killing it on the spot, Aron was relatively safe since he had his very large shield but he was getting suppressed, constant swinging made him unable to counter attack.
Kajus had readied his rune arrow, and he quickly released it when he noticed that Aron was losing, the arrow flew into one of the orcs but it flew right through the orcs chest, not killing it but stunning it for a brief time, Aron was still suppressed.
Grinda at the same time released her magic hitting a orc that was closest to her to the left of Aron, the magic hit the orc straight in the eyes, making it handicapped, now there were only 3 orcs hammering down on Arons shield but it was still to hard for Aron to do anything besides defending. Geoff who was thrown started to get up, only seconds had gone by since the orcs clashed with Geoff and Aron.
