Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Early in the morning. Rai had begun waking up.

"Ah… Oh. They are still sleeping."

He got up on his bed and towards the door.

"Need something to eat."

Before he could grab the door. A knock came.

He simply pulled the door to open it.

"What is it?"

"Sir. Someone wanted to talk to you downstairs."

A maid shows up and said so.

"Oh. I guess I know who those people are."

He goes down the stairs with the maid and proceeds to meet said people.

He arrived and saw Asser at the table with the girls and their uncle. Eliza is clinging to his arm looking very satisfied.

"Oh. You're back."

"Yeah… Haha."

"So? Why do you have to call me down? Can't you just go up?"

"Well…"

"What?"

"Talk to their uncle."

"Pfft, Alright. So? What's the deal?"

He said to Viscount Calcem.

"Oh. You see. My niece over here wished to marry him right away. She's in the age after all."

"Wait. How old was she anyway?"

"She's sixteen apparently."

"That's a marriageable age, huh?"

"Yes. She has fallen with your companion over here and wanted to make sure they will be together forever."

"Yeah. I'm seeing it. Come on Asser. Why? Why be involved with an NPC like this?"

"Sorry. Maybe she likes it a lot last night. Sorry."

"Then? It's up to you."

"Well. I kinda like her too but..."

"Let me tell you one thing. Everything here is real."

"Huh!?"

"Yeah."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. So if you're gonna marry her. Make sure it's your final decision."

"How can you say this is all real?"

"We've been here for less than 24 hours. We'll talk about that later with the others. Mister. Can't we call it off for now? We need him more than this girl does."

"But my niece–"

"But I wanted. I don't want my friend to be taken away."

"He's not gonna be taken away. He'll simply marry my niece and have a family with her."

"But I don't care. I'll just pay you up then."

"I believe that love or feelings couldn't be bought. My niece simply found her love. Please."

"Crap. Asser. It's up to you."

"Um… I'll marry her. But not now. Alright? What if we set it when she turns twenty?"

"Twenty? Hmm… Not a bad deal."

The uncle replied.

"Yeah. That's a good thing."

Rai said too.

"But still. You have to often visit her to show your love for her too. Is that alright?"

"Y, yeah. Sure. I'll visit her every week."

"Sign this."

"Huh?"

"A letter that you'll marry my niece when she turned twenty."

"Where did you get such a thing?"

"It's just a document. If you did not marry her. People will come after you. "

"Oh… It's a deal. I kinda liked her to be honest though."

"Asser. Make sure to not regret your decisions later on."

"Yeah, yeah. I know."

He proceeds to sign the document. Stating that he would marry her when she turned twenty. Which is still four years from now. He also had to frequently visit her. At least four times per month.

"Alright. We bid farewell. We still had things to do on our end. If you excuse us."

"Yeah…"

"Bye."

Eliza said as she waved on Asser as he also waved goodbye to her.

"Come on. Let's go inside. The others are still sleeping."

"Okay."

They opened the door as they arrived and head inside.

"Why are they still sleeping?"

"They refuse to turn on the poison resistance, so that's why they are still sleeping."

"I see. WAKE UP!!!"

The three others immediately got on their feet.

"Oh. Asser! Why do you have to do that!?"

Rei shouted.

"Stop being like that. It's alright that Asser did that. You all are stubborn after all. Come on. Turn on your poison resistance skill."

Rai replied

"Yeah, yeah. But you guys are ruining it. It's fun without the poison resistance after all."

"This is important, Rei."

They immediately stopped goofing around and listen to Rai seriously as if their lives are on the line.

"We're less than twenty-four hours in this server, if it really is a server. You know that doing this for that long will cause damage to our bodies that did not even have a chance to take a break, eat, or bathroom. Everything in here is extremely realistic. Even though the game is created using quantum computers. This place is still… Much better and we're like in the real world. Even though the NPCs work exactly like a normal person in the game. Their actions here are much more realistic. No NPC will be like that. Every NPC in the game referred to players as higher beings and will know who they are, their achievements, and power at a single glance. Whether it's a level one player. But the owners think poorly about us. I know that this place could have been altered unlike that of the game so you could debunk me of these. But we can't erase in our minds that we're less than twenty-four hours here. It's not normal. We should have died by now due to so much brain activity and our bodies not taking a break. I know that it's not really twenty-four hours but more than just seven hours but we're tired for less than ten hours fighting Surtr before we got transported here. It might cause internal damages and could eventually harm our life. A warning should have been flashing on our screens by now but there isn't even one. I am pretty sure this is a whole different reality itself."

"So… Did I just got married for real!!!???"

"Told ya not to regret your decision."

"What do you mean by that Rai? So does it really mean is that we're stuck on our game characters and are living from now on with these bodies?"

Laurence asked.

"So what? This is our real appearances after all."

"Then… How are we gonna manage in this world? We're level one. Even normal people that we saw are less than thirty levels."

"I know. We just have to find a way to level up."

"But it's alright, we're extremely rich, aren't we?"

Rei said.

"Yeah. We may be rich compare to anyone in this world. But, we still have to level up. I think."

Niel replied.

"I know what you mean everyone. Then. Starting tomorrow. Let's grind."

Rai spoke up.

"Oh! Good old days. We have an ace after all! We have these legendary weapons of ours!"

Rei said.

"Yeah. But I am dying of curiosity. Where the hell were all of our items? I mean. It's just the necessary ones for the last fight with Surtr and the forces of chaos. But still, those are powerful items! Not mention our legendary equipments."

Asser added.

"Yeah. Only over 10% of billions of players got hold of legendary items. It's extremely hard to possess one as that is the highest item or equipment rarity. But we possess a whole lot of them but not because we found it. But because 70% of them are created by Mirio himself. One of the best among tens of people who could create legendary equipment and the dwarven party. It's partly thanks to the philosopher's stone created by Benedict that could turn any materials into epic, legendary items created by Michael is also a thing and john who has higher skills in finding legendary or mythical materials. But still. If we lost it. There is a chance that those tens of those items are scattered around somewhere."

"Right. Good old days of watching the dwarves crafting and forging. But yeah, Rai is right that there is a chance."

"Very well. Let's get out of here and start looking for things we could get EXP from."

"Yes!"

They got out of the Inn after a few minutes. Looking for equipment to buy somewhere.

"So? Where can we buy equipment?"

Laurence asked.

"Let's just hope we could find at least uncommon ones or even rare if possible."

He added.

"Haha! Rare items are a dream come true for new players. That'll give them a boost after all."

Rei replied to him.

"True."

After a while. They found a shop. There are many armed people which they do not recognize being in the game as NPCs.

"What? There's... There are no such things as this in the game big bro, right?"

"I don't know why many NPCs are armed like this I know that they are also fighting but these people look different. Another confirmation."

"Enough of your things Rai. Let's just buy."

Asser said as he hits Rai's back.

"I know."

While looking angry.

"What? That hurts?"

"Of course."

"Oh. Maybe we really are in a different reality."

"That's just another confirmation. We do not feel pain in the game our movements just get weaken and slow when our characters are in pain."

They got on the seller.

"How may I help you sirs?"

"We need equipment."

"You may choose over at the displayed ones."

"May I ask as these don't meet our standards. Can we see even better ones?"

"Well. You could. But those will be expensive and I don't like wasting my time touring around people who can't afford them. But I see that you sirs are nobles. It'll be worth a while."

"Thank you."

He led them to a different section of the shop. There. Not many people are in there. But those seem to be rich. Some of them are better looking and seem to have money unlike those in the previous section.

"Over here you could see many powerful and good equipment. There are armors, magic robes, swords, staff, bows, and many other things. This spot right here is my best ones. The most powerful pieces, thus are most expensive."

"I see. These are much better."

"Big bro. These are very rare items."

"Yeah. Let's explore and see."

After the man toured them around the spacious and elegant section. He left.

"I see. So? Anyone got what they like?"

Rai asked.

"Yeah. Let's go grab those."

After a while. They got what they needed and left the store after paying three thousand gold coins in total which is like paying a cent for them. They also managed to get hold of some information from the owner about the city and also bought a map which they also are selling.

"Let's do this. To the adventurers' guild."
