Another busy day. The goblins are working on the prized loots from the unfortunate travelers.
However. A violent earthquake suddenly hits the land.
"W-what is happening!?"
A goblette exclaimed.
"An earthquake! H- hurry to your houses!"
Said by another goblin.
But the earthquake is so tremendous that they all fallen onto the ground.
"Why is the earthquake so powerful?"
Suddenly. Humans appeared out of nowhere and ran as if they are not affected at all.
"W-who ar–"
A goblin tried to ask but then his head has been missing before he could finish.
"E-enemies!"
"But how can we move! The earthquake is so strong!"
"They're going to kill us!"
As the earthquake pass by longer. The houses started collapsing and their loots have been spoiled.
They tried standing up but are quickly fallen into the ground again and again.
"B-bastards!"
As the humans move goblin to goblin killing everyone they stumbled upon. All they could do is stand there and watch as many of their kin have been killed.
After more than seventy goblins are killed and their whole settlement been collapsed down to the ground. The earthquake stopped.
"It stopped! Hurry! Kill these bastards! Maybe it's their magic!"
The whole settlement is not that big so the group could easily move point to point killing goblins.
The goblins started mobilizing. Though there are less than two hundred of them and most are female and children.
"Protect the females and children!"
Their charge was disorganized they immediately became dead meat in front of their females and children.
"There are just less than fifty males. They're so stupid for putting all of their men in that area. But enough of that. Maybe it's just for instantaneous reinforcements."
Rai talked to himself but the other four could hear it.
"So? The men are down. Just wait for your death."
The females shivered and are frozen from fear while the children cry and pleaded for help while they are all closed together and are not able to escape.
"Please! Anyone! Help us!"
"There's no going back. Let's give them a painless death."
"Yes."
Rei took the initiative and started cutting them down as if they are nothing but trees needed for firewood.
The scream filled a great distance as one by one each of them fell. But still. The women can't fight these fearsome foes. Until moments later. Only the young ones are left.
"The mission is still not complete big bro. I feel bad killing these young goblins as they are real living beings as you said."
"There's no choice. We had done this many times. How many settlements had we burnt down and slaughtered in our times in the game?"
"But… It's different. I feel bad for killing the women but killing also the children."
"He's right Rai. Can't we just let them?"
Laurence asked.
"I don't think so. They are terrorizing humans."
"But you said years ago right? No matter the means. If you wanted to survive. You must do it."
"We are humans. Are you telling me you'll side with goblins? I also feel bad for them but where will they go? You surely can't take care of them right?"
"…"
"We needed to do this. Whether they really living or not. It doesn't matter for now. When we are stronger. We'll take as many races under us as you wanted."
"… Fine. Let's just mercy kill them."
Laurence answered.
"I'm out. I'll be chilling there."
As Rei walks away with a sad face.
"Let's just end them swiftly and painlessly."
Rai commanded.
"Yeah."
All the children could do is close their eyes and wait for their swift death.
"Are you done!?"
Rei shouted from the distance.
"Yes. We're done!"
Laurence shouted back.
"Alright."
After Rei got back close to the group. A new message popped up from the system.
[Quest Cleared]
On their character window. They saw their EXP going up. But due to all those killings and fighting. They are already level four and upon the completion of the quest. They leveled up to five.
"We did not get any skills when we went to four and even five."
Said Rei.
"Yeah. We only get two skills one at a time when we got to level three.
Niel answered.
"There's no point thinking about this so much. Let's collect their things. Some must be valuable. We could even get items here."
As Rai cut their talk and ordered them.
"Yeah, yeah."
There's no need to browse through this much loot and instead. They put it all within their inventory and used the sort option to do the job for them.
"Oh. These are neat items. Even though most of them are just uncommon."
"You're right Rei. It seems this is a standard in this world. But considering that these very rare items are only afforded by the rich and are already considered powerful by everyone. Even uncommon items must be of price."
As Niel answered him again.
"Hah! Imagine them seeing legendary weapons, hehe."
Asser laughed.
"Yeah. Their reactions must be more than we could expect."
"If they had just known about our legendary weapons. By the way? We can't leave these goblins here like this. Let's try burying them. That's the least we could do."
Rai told.
"Right. Let's go ahead."
Using Asser's skill. Pitfall. They created a hole deep enough to toss the bodies in there. After doing so, using the same skill. He sealed the hole.
"Alright. It's done. So? How can we tell the guild that it's done?"
Niel asked.
"Wha– we did not ask how."
Rei exclaimed.
"It's alright. Just let them ride onto that road and if no goblins attacked. Then the quest really is complete. Also, I don't think they will let us go if we are fraud since people will die if we said that the quest is complete but is actually not. So it's not that hard to tell them."
Rai answered him.
"Yeah, true."
"Let's go back. There is a carriage in my inventory."
"Really? That's nice. Let's go back then, big bro!"
Rai took out a carriage which seems to belong to a noble and they ride back towards the southern city which they came from.
