Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

"Are we there yet?"

Asked Rei.

"Not yet. Just sleep. We don't need you in driving."

Laurence answered.

"Oh, you're so harsh to me."

"Sorry 'bout that then."

"Haha, just kidding. It's alright."

After a while. They got back and arrived back onto a gate.

"ID?"

The guard asked.

"Here."

They gave their IDs and then, they are good to proceed inside.

"Wait."

"What?"

"Look. It's Elija! That's one of the coachmen right?"

Laurence pointed out.

"Yeah. It seems the baron sends him back immediately since the road is already cleared."

They moved their carriage towards the two and called out.

"Hey!"

"Oh. Misters!"

"Did the baron sent you back?"

Asked Rai.

"Yes. He said that since the road is now safe. I should immediately get back to my mother since she's sick. He asked this mister to send me back on one of the horses while mister Mytzen drove the wagon. He also gave me one gold coin for me to buy extra food."

"He's really kind. Mister. Will you go then since you had taken Elija back?"

"Yes. Please wait for tomorrow. The baron said he would send invitations for his daughter's wedding in three days. I got young Elija's house address so the invitation will be sent directly. I need to take yours what was it?"

"Please just send every invitation to Elija's house."

"Alright then. I'll have to take my leave and get back there. If you'll excuse me."

"Yes. Take care."

[Eye of Horus activated. A protective barrier has been set.]

This protective barrier could detect ill intention and automatically blocks those harmful for the being it's protecting. But is invisible. Only showing up when it blocks something.

"Bye mister! Take care!"

As Elija waves goodbye.

"Misters. Did you already cleared out those goblins?"

"Yes. Easily."

Rei answered.

"Wow. You're so powerful…"

"Alright. Elija. You're going to but medicine now, right?"

Rai asked.

"Yes."

"Then could you take us to your mother after then?"

"Yes. Surely."

"So? Could you wait for us first since we had to confirm our quest to the guild?"

"Mm!"

They go towards the guild on their carriage and Elija got to a medicine store just before the guild and buys his medicine which costs one silver each.

"What exactly is your mother's illness?"

"… A shaman said it's a curse."

"Curse?"

"Yes. It runs within our family my mother said. And she's affected by it."

"Oh… Curses… So? What can that medicine do?"

"The curse gives her burning sensation in and out of her body. If the temperature gets so high up. She'll die. That's what the shaman said. This medicine will make her cool down and let her do her normal life for over eight days before. But the curse became more active as time goes. The shaman said if we couldn't find somebody that could heal her completely. She'll die since no more medication could slow it down or cool her down. That's the reason a lot of our ancestors died before. As many of them are affected. That's why even when they are against me becoming adventurers I still did it to make my mother at least proud before she dies and also buys her medicine often. I also don't want my mother to die but I can't bear hearing her agonizing screams at times. I really… Wanted to save her."

"Hmmm… Can't the shaman just heal her?"

"No. She said maybe an A-tier healing spell could heal her completely as she pointed out that that curse came from an ancient powerful being. She does not know what that being is. That's all she could rule out."

"I see. Well. Let me have a look at your mother later... Wai– nobody could cast an A-tier spell?"

"What do you mean mister? It's almost impossible to cast an A-tier spell. Even godkins only have one of it in their arsenal and even none! Why is it that you look at it as a simple thing?"

"No. Sorry about that."

"Big bro. A-tier skills are not that quite rare right? The only rare ones in the game are the Legendary-tier skills? Even a handful of us in the guild actually have those skills."

Rei whispered.

"You're right. Considering stuff. This world's inhabitants must be weak in comparison to players."

"Yeah. That may be."

"Also. The looted spells I had from Ririha are only E-tier spells."

"Really? That's so weak!"

"Yeah. You're right."

In the game. There are many tiers of skills.

F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, Mythical, and Legendary.

Only a handful of players could awaken Legendary skills or generate them. Skills or Spells could move up tiers as their powers get upgraded or the user's efficiency on it rises.

To make it rise its tier. There are two factors. It's power and the user's efficiency in using it.

For example. If two people have Lesser Fireball.

It is an F-tier spell. However. If one of them had better efficiency in using it. It will then be counted as E-tier. The same rule applied as if you have more power than efficiency. Then it still could be E-tier. Somebody could actually make a skill An A-tier from D-tier. Every skill could only be moved up for three tiers.

But mythical and Legendary skills could only be either learned from NPCs or by other means, discovered, or generated. Making it extremely rare to have one in your arsenal. Making it having only a few hundred out of billions of players have it.

The Invictus guild prioritizes more passive skills than active ones as Rai pointed out that not everything could be used so they only learned and keep the useful ones. Making seventy percent out of over one hundred skills they have mostly passives and only have less than twenty active skills for each of them.

Soon they reached the guild and entered

They reached a countered and talked to a woman.

"We had cleared a quest."

"Your Adventurer's card please?"

"Here."

"Oh. Are you perhaps those that accepted that quest about troublesome goblins?"

"Yes, indeed."

"We'll. We'll trust you even though you are alphas. It will take a few days to confirm it but do you have some sort of evidence? Like an ear or something about the goblins?"

"No, we do not have anything."

"The loots that they have?"

"Uh… Nothing."

"That's strange. Please be honest. Did you keep the loot for yourself? Please. We'll just give you compensation for it. We'll give you twenty-five percent of the overall price for everything. There are just some things on those loots that are important."

"I am sorry but like I said. We found nothing."

"Then. We'll confirm that later. If you really are bluffing of not knowing it and had kept those for yourselves. You might face punishment if you're caught. I am not threatening but telling you for your well being. I'll mark the quest as successful."

"Thank you."

"Their cards?"

After confirming the completion of their quest. They head back outside and onto the carriage which where they left Elija for a while in that up until now nobody recognizes.

"Big bro? Why did you tell her that? What if we're caught lying? Can't we just give it to them?"

Rei whispered.

"No need. We had good loot after all."

"But still..."

"It's alright. If they recognized this carriage. Then we'll surrender this."

"Alright."

"Then. Elija. Lead us to your house. Please point out the direction."
