Chapter 5 - The Victor is the one who Survives

As this lone survivor dragged the remainder of his fellow brethren's corpse from the ash, he panted, he was not blessed, given special intellect, magic, gifts, physique, nor skills. It was simply a goblin. Then immediately with a powerful chomp the goblin took a portion of the ash goblins corpse to it's small mouth and bit down. Size wise, the ash goblin was large, it was mostly due to it being covered in ash. With its mouth full of mostly ash the goblin immediately coughed out his supposed meal. As instinct goblins can be akin to pre tribal humans, or even their ancestors before. The goblin used it's small frail fingers to scrape and scrape away at the ash goblin, removing the excess ash from this meal. Then he bit down.

Under the ash, lied sustenance, flavor, and survival. And so as all goblins do, this goblin chose to survive. Furiously eating a significant portion of the ash goblins corpse, this goblin eventually became full. After its meal, it had a long and hard look around, and it had a revolutionary idea, "Won't this make a good cave?"

Immediately within the next few hours the ash filled mess that once held the goblin newborns had 5 out of the 6 piles filled with ash. Of course his pit was not used for such disposal. The goblin had toiled to organize his home. He had gotten hungry once more while moving the ash so little more that the few fragments of bone could be seen left of the ash goblin. Its brain, heart, and organs were consumed for every last drop of strength. With its immediate area secure the goblin do the first thing all goblins do, (besides murdering and eating their tribemates) find a stick.
