Saburo woke up, stretching his arms as though he was in his usual bed. He woke up startled to find himself in an unfamiliar room before grasping back his senses and remembering where he was.
He went into the small bathroom where he washed his face. He came back into the small room where the bed he laid in was. He looked around and saw his cloak on the room floor near the bed, he quickly reattached his cloak that he had lazily thrown to the floor from the day before. He scanned the room to find his bow case stood next to the bed he had slept in. He once more wore it again.
Turning to look out the window he saw the awakening sky still half asleep too. It was still too early in the morning but it was also the perfect time to part ways with this senior he had been with. This simple old man who owed him nothing had done more than most would if placed in his shoes, certainly not him that's for sure!
Opening the door into the hallway he walked past 3 rooms, unsure which one the old man was holed-up in, he walked down the stairs leading to the lower part of the inn where the bar/diner were. Hoping to inquire information about what room the old senior was in.
There were some people seated already, busy drinking or eating. He walked over seeing a woman sat behind the bar area. It seemed the previous male inn-keeper had probably long finished his shift. He made his way towards the bar area. The woman noticing him heading her way got up ready to greet him.
"Morning."
"Morning." she replied.
"Can I ask..." Before he could finish the woman spoke before his words came out of his mouth.
"Are you Saburo?"
"Yes?"
"An old man told me to tell you to wait for him here before you go."
"Before I go? What time did he speak to you."
"It was a few hours ago." The woman shrugged unsure of the specific time.
"Thank you" Saburo could only simply reply.
He found a sit besides the bar counter and sat in thought. He looked at a elgent wooden clock nailed to the wall besides the staircase. It was only 6am! Had the old man gone out in the middle of the night? Why? This puzzled him after all he didn't know much of what this old senior would be doing at night, he was only a 'merchant' after all, if that was even true that is.
After an hour passed the Caleb walked through the door, he quickly scanned the surroundings, upon seeing Saburo he walked straight to him.
"Ah forgive me I had some business to attend to." The old senior quickly ordered a drink and told Saburo to follow him to his room.
Saburo wasn't impolite as to press him for information of this old senior's where abouts but he was keen to dispel an assumption.
"Did you really think i would go without saying goodbye."
Caleb turned around and gave him a nod in response. "I guess I had you wrong. Forgive me." As he quickly hid a smile that appeared on his face.
When they got to Caleb's room he locked it and sat down on the bed. Saburo was quick to find a seat too.
The old man gulped down some of his drink before turning his anttention to Saburo. "So lets take a look at that woapon of yours. You do owe me after all."
Saburo was keen to oblige, paying the debt with a simple show casing of the woapon he held was of no burden to him.
Saburo moved the bow out of its casing. Caleb held his breath upon seeing the bow. Such craftsmanship, it had really been so long since he saw such craftsmanship. You would normally find such bows on either battle proven warriors, who names and deeds reserved such bows, or you would travel to the elve's land where such bows were crafted.
"A mana based bow, and of such quality too..." Caleb quietly spoke to himself. If such a bow was in this young man's hands, did it mean he was a formidable warrior? For him to carry around such a woapon, he had to be the real deal. As he quietly shook his head in agreement.
"I see why you would not want to part with such a bow, even i wouldn't want to part with it. What name does it bear?"
"Soulstring, Warbow of the Heavens" Saburo quickly replied.
The old man grunted at hearing such a name, as he handed him back his bow after inspection.
"What do you plan to do next once we part ways?"
Saburo didn't reply to his question though he really didn't have a plan on what he would do when he parted ways with the old senior. He only wanted to part to stop being a burden to him, a weight he probably didn't need.
"Travel the land." Travel the land? seriously is that all I could think of as a reply? Saburo frowned at himself, unhappy with what slipped past his lips.
"Ah I see. So planning to wander around? Then why not make money at the same time?" the old senior replied tipping down the last of his drink.
"What do you mean?"
"Well am sure you have heard of adventurers right?" Saburo nodded in response. Nevertheless Caleb explained to him what it meant. "You will travel around offering your services for profit in return. Wether that be monster hunting or protection..." The old senior explained to him.
"So Saburo what do you think? I mean it is evident you're in need of money. With your skills they are perfectly fit for this sort of craft."
"..." It sounded exciting to Saburo, but it was also dangerous. He thought over it, as Caleb waited for his reply.
"Yes sure. I will take it, how do I apply?" Saburo replied after a time.
"Luckily for you I know exactly where that is." Caleb replied with a smile.
