Den turned silent for a long time after hearing this before he said in a small voice, "It was not my fault."
"You know what's ironic? The girl you have been treating like shit by no fault of her own just said this. She said that it was not your fault!!!!" Simon became more agitated.
Den's temper flared again, "No fault of her's? How could she just enter here and touch these pictures?"
Simon: "Well she bloody could because you left the door open. And do you know the position she was in after you kicked her out? No. Of course not. Because all you want to do is mope around all day and convince yourself that it was not your fault. Well I will make this clear. It bloody was your fault!! All that happened was your fault!!!" Simon was panting by the time he was done.
Den was upon him in a flash and had pinned Simon on the ground, "Take that back. You take that back." He snarled.
Simon got hold of Den's collar and spoke, "I won't. It was your fault that Helen....." His voice was muffled as Simon received a punch in the face. His jaw clattered and blood gushed out from his mouth.
Still Simon looked Den dead in the eye and said, "See. You can't face the truth. Not even now. I warned you. And you promised nothing would happen to her. And you made the same promise when we found Stella. But what you are doing right now, is making history repeat itself."
Den let go of Simon and sat down on the rug.
He looked dazed as he said, "But she was not supposed to.....How..."
Simon put a hand on his shoulder, "It really is a miracle that Stella has such a similar face to Helen. But you know, it's not her fault. You have got to stop treating her like it is."
Den looked at Simon and said, "What have I done? How can I face her now after what I've done."
Simon: "Take your time. But for god's sake don't let history repeat itself."
Den seemed unstable. His temper flared again, "History repeat itself? It possibly cannot. That girl is not Helen. She never was, and never will be!!!!!"
Simon got up and wiped his lip. He said, "Nobody said she was. It is you who keeps confusing the two." He then walked out of the room.
Stella woke up next morning feeling very refreshed but aching all over. She opened her eyes and the first sight that greeted her was Simon's face shining in the morning sunlight, beside the window looking out it it, the indirect sunlight not harming him.
Stella was a little dazzled by his beauty. She had never really noticed how beautiful Simon was, as his visits had usually resulted in medicines and injections. Stella blinked as she thought to herself, "Of course he's beautiful. You would think I would have gotten used to their beauty, with the Zukao brothers, Den, Allen and June. But I don't think vampire beauty is something you get used to."
Simon turned his head sensing movement. He pulled away his hands which were still holding onto Stella's hand.
Stella smiled brightly and said, "You stayed!!!!"
