Den stood up and walked over to Stella. He said, "Where were you McCartney? I tried to call you, but you left your phone here."
Stella slapped her forehead, "Thank god! So I left it here!! You don't know how worried I've been, thinking I lost it."
Den shook his head and mumbled, "Like a little child."
Stella looked up at his face and said, "Huh? What?" But June and Allen had apparently caught it as they chuckled.
Stella pouted, "You and your heightened hearing." She then turned towards Allen and said, "Don't tell me... You're really Allen Dews!?!?!?!?"
The man on the couch spread his hands, "The one and only."
Stella's eyes popped out of their sockets, "Holy shit!!!!!" She then put her hand under her chin and said, deep in thought, "Actually, it's not that strange when you think about it. It explains the handsomensess for one thing."
Allen raised his eyebrows, apparently pleased, "Explains the what now?"
June snapped, "Oh don't be so vain. Of course she thinks you're handsome. That's because you are."
Allen grinned as Stella looked from Allen to June, "You both know each other?"
June nodded, "I'm his agent."
"And my girlfriend." Allen piped in.
Stella looked at them for a minute before she smiled, "You suit each other. You both look really good together."
June smiled as Allen said, "I can say the same. You two look like you were made for each other."
Stella looked at Den who was standing beside her. He also looked at her.
Den's eyes dimmed a little as he tore them away and was about to say something when Stella burst out laughing, "What? Me and Sharp? Your acting skills might be superb, but clearly you're blind. We look like a child standing in front of a hill."
June said with a forced chuckle, "It's true. Den is a bit tall."
Stella: "And I'm short. You can say it."
June forced out another chuckle and Allen looked uncomfortable. Stella could sense the awkwardness in the room as she looked from one person to another, wondering what was wrong.
She was a little startled when Den suddenly said, "McCartney, you've not eaten anything since morning. You must be hungry. There's food in the kitchen. Eat first, we'll talk after that."
Stella nodded, but was not sure if anybody noticed it as she walked out of the living room. In the kitchen, Stella wondered, "I wonder what that was all about?"
In the living room, Den face had considerably darkened. He looked at Allen who put up his hands in defeat, "Don't get so worked up man. I only said it from the humans' point of view."
"But we're not humans, are we? And such kind of words are not really casual for us." Den spat out thr words through gritted teeth.
Allen slumped back on the couch, "What can I say? I'm sorry. It was a spur of the moment thing." Den turned away his face to look out of the window as Allen continued, "But June, you were right. She really looked too much like Hel...." But he never finished the sentence as Den came upto him in a second and punched him full in the face.
Blood spurt out of Allen's mouth as he got up and got hold of Den's collar. Den did the same.
