Yue Yang dipped his head into the waterfall. Argh! Bi Zhen seemed to have an ethereal energy shining from him. Was it normal? Had he felt this way for any woman before? He slammed his head into the waterfall again.
"Are you sure you can bathe here? It seems… not right." Yue Yang heard voices. His hair was all wet and the bit of land to the rest of the forest was pretty far. He crept behind the waterfall and let his thoughts be drowned by the drumming of the clear waterfall.
"Why not? I'm not a girl anyways. Besides, I do recall this could be used to bathe but… the water is pretty cold." That voice. Yue Yang barely knew it but he immediately recognised it. Bi Zhen!
"The springs are warm? Why would you want to bathe here?"
"The springs are much too crowded! I'd feel uncomfortable…" There was a little more murmuring before Yu Jing was left alone near the waterfall. Yue Yang's breath hitched. Today was surely eventful.
Bi Zhen began to strip and Yue Yang looked away in respect. While it was true that they were both male… it still is slightly disturbing to stare at one who you're attracted to bathe. Yue Yang needed to get out of there. He hesitantly peeked through the water with a small charm. It made him be able to see through the water. Looking outside, he immediately felt his cheeks flush up. Bi Zhen… was gorgeous. Perhaps he should just wait till Bi Zhen was gone. It would be awkward if he left then.
However… if Yue Yang had just left. He could have said he was meditating behind the waterfall's curtain and it would make sense. Yet… perhaps he was making himself stay there for a more… dishonourable purpose. He gave one last peek at the male before he removed the charm. Bi Zhen's body was slightly toned and Yue Yang could understand why he hated being called just a pretty face. The structure of his body was unexpectedly slightly feminine than most males. His shoulders were a little less broad and his long, dark purple hair flowed down. He was thankfully still in his undergarments so Yue Yang didn't catch anything he really wasn't supposed to be seeing. His skin was quite pale and it had glistened in the water. Yue Yang wondered if he should just leave. Somehow, somehow. He didn't want to seem like a creep. Oh the irony!
He nonchalantly leapt out from behind the waterfall and he heard a small yelp.
"Huh?"
Yue Yang turned, pretending to be surprised.
"Oh. It's you." Bi Zhen muttered and he splashed some water onto his face. For someone who was sitting in almost Ice cold water, he was doing quite well.
"Mhn? Sorry, I didn't notice you were there."
Bi Zhen blinked.
"What were you doing behind the waterfall?" Bi Zhen quickly replayed his memories and he looked at Yue Yang suspiciously. He didn't recall hearing any weird sounds though.
"Meditating. The rumble from the waterfall is nice." Yue Yang realised his sentences were starting to fall apart. He tried too hard not to burn Bi Zhen's chest into his brain.
"Why is your hair wet then?"
"Isn't it obvious? I have to cross the waterfall's curtain."
"Couldn't you have used magic to stay dry?" Yue Yang flushed up. He had totally forgotten.
There was an awkward silence.
Bi Zhen suddenly burst out into laughter.
"I've heard you're pretty adept at magic yet… Why could you keep yourself dry?" His laugh was light and it tinkled slightly in the breeze. Yue Yang hesitantly sat down on a rock and looked to the tree behind Bi Zhen. Yue Yang let his eyes glow and a few seconds later, his hair was dry.
"I don't know myself."
"Mhm, that's odd coming from the so-called strongest cultivator here… I mean no harm. I just feel the situation is slightly amusing." Yue Yang sighed. Bi Zhen was still laughing.
"Strongest cultivator? I believe that's a lie. I'm not good enough for that title. How old are you?"
"18. 17 day of the 10th month"
"Mhm. 19. 21st day of the 7th month." Yue Yang smiled.
"Oh… you're older than me… I don't have to address you as Gege do I? We're around the same age after all." Bi Zhen smiled. Yue Yang… honestly wouldn't mind having Bi Zhen call him Gege. But, he didn't know if his heart could handle it.
"You could. It depends, whatever you're comfortable with."
"Anyways Ge, I've heard you're a phoenix! Is that true?" Bi Zhen asked. Yue Yang flushed up slightly when Bi Zhen called him.
"Yes, the colour of my hair already gives me away, why are you asking?" His hand moved automatically to stroke Bi Zhen's hair. Bi Zhen had shifted closer to converse with the older boy and his eyes widened. He looked up at Yue Yang strangely and Yue Yang immediately withdrew his hand.
"Why did you touch it?" Bi Zhen flicked a lock of his hair up.
Yue Yang's mind immediately began to pump out useless excuses.
He would sound awfully idiotic if he said that "he wanted to touch it." If he said it was a habit, wouldn't it be even stranger? If he said that he did it to his own little brother, it would seem awfully disturbing if it ever got out that he liked Bi Zhen. His brain seemed to short circuit.
"Ah… it's because it's purple… right? It's a strange colour isn't it." Yue Yang blinked. Huh? Bi Zhen's hair looked black however, if he looked closely, he could see the dark purple strands.
"Usually people don't notice the weird colour. I'm a bit of a freak. Aren't I?" Yue Yang said nothing.
"Why would you say that about yourself?" Bi Zhen frowned.
"It contributes to the fact about just the pretty face doesn't it?" Bi Zhen looked sour. Yue Yang glanced away.
"Well, you have a personality. You're not an empty, soulless shell. So, no matter what, you're already not just a pretty face." Bi Zhen looked at Yue Yang. He couldn't tell the older male was blushing but his own cheeks seemed to have a pinkish tint. Though… Bi Zhen somehow didn't realise that he slightly flushed.
"That's a nice way of putting it. I'll see you tomorrow Gege! I'm getting cold." Bi Zhen averted his eyes away from Yue Yang and the two awkwardly waved to each other. Yue Yang got up and he walked away flushed. He ensured he was looking away when he noticed Bi Zhen was about to get out of the water. Both looked up at the moon and mused "what a strange but delightful person…"
