Chapter 13 - Chapter 12-Contingency

(August 14th,2016)

"Simon?"

"What the hell?" Nat almost dropped her rifle.

Ghost took off the balaclava and put it aside,he has dark brown hair with piercing blue eyes and a stubble. Price knew those eyes in a heartbeat.

"Natalie,he's your brother." Price says to his daughter.

Nat's eyes widen in shock, "What?" She went pale. Mactavish had to keep her from fainting from shock.

Simon looks shocked as well, "How did I not recognize her when she looks just like me?" He thought to himself.

"Simon was kidnapped just after you were born,I thought I had lost him forever." Price explains to Natalie, "I never thought I'd see him again."

{14 miles SSE of Petropavlovsk, Russia}

"Uplink nearly complete. General Shepherd, you're online with Captain Price." Nat sat on the chopper with Price,Ghost,Soap, and the rest of the team.

"Back from the brink, Captain?" Shepherd says over the com.

"Out of the frying pan' is more like it. This world looks more like hell than the one I just left." Price scoffs as he looks out the window at the endless snow and fallen trees.

"We thought we'd recover the ACS before the Russians could crack it. We were wrong. Then Makarov turned the U.S. into his scapegoat. Next thing you know there's flames everywhere."

"You wanna put out an oil fire, Sir, you set off a bigger explosion right next to it. Sucks away the oxygen. Snuffs the flame." Price says.

"Price, you been locked away too long. Better get your mind right, son."

Nat cuts in,"Shepherd, are you willing to do what is necessary to win?"

"Always." Shepherd's reply make a shiver go down her spine.

Price spoke up,"We got ourselves a pretty big fire. Gonna need a huge bang."

"You've been in the gulag too long, Price. Focus on taking out Makarov."

"No time, sir. We need to end this war today." Price says.

Shepherd spoke in a stern tone, "I'm not asking you, Price. This is an order! You're to-"

Nat shuts down the up-link. "Connection Terminated."

Nat and Price parachuted and landed in Petropavlovsk, Russia. Nat follows Price and begin their trek to the sub base. Ahead, a group of men and a dog are seen in the distance.

"Contact. Enemy patrol 30 meters to our front. Five men, automatic rifles, frag grenades. One German Shepherd." Price said on the com.

"Dogs. I hate dogs." Soap replied.

"These Russian dogs are like pussycats compared to the ones in Pripyat."

"It's good to have you back, old man." Soap chuckles.

They quietly follow the patrol. Price held his hand up as a signal to stop.

"Patience...don't do anything stupid,Lass. We'll have to take 'em out at the same time."

On his count they shot down the patrol. They cross the border bridge and move up the road. Russian choppers are seen carrying mobile SAM sites. As they near the woods, Price stops as he hears vehicles ahead. Suddenly, two BTRs drive up from the road ahead of them. They run into the woods and he quickly pushed Nat to the the ground to keep her out of the crossfire. They hide in the brush as a patrol with lights walk by.

"Let them pass. Looks like they're searching for us." He whispers to her. She nods her head amd waits as the patrol passes by. Nat and Price move further into the woods towards the sub base. On the way, they come up to several patrols. They then move up and spot a three-man group.

"Three man patrol dead ahead. Take them out or leave them be. Your call." He looks to her. She smirks and takes them out. They move up, a large patrol is ahead. Nat then takes out the two men on the right while Price takes out the handler and his dog on the left. They move up to a ridge above a path. They move up to a ridge on top of a hill. A Predator can be seen flying over the village.

"Soap, what's the status of our air support, over?" Nat asks on the com.

"A UAV loaded with AGMs is en route to your position."

Nat controls the Predator and fires a missile. A mobile SAM launches one of its missiles and shoots down the Predator.

"Bollocks!" She curses. "What just happened?"

"There is a mobile SAM site in the village. It just shot down our Predator. We need another Predator. Nat - let's go." He explains.

They slide down the hill and engage enemy foot-mobiles. They meet up with Ghost and the rest of the team.

"Check your fire! Check your fire! Friendlies coming up at your 12!" Nat says to the team. They fight their way through the village into the base of the sub docks.

Price says on the com,"Soap, we've linked up with Ghost and the rest of the team."

"Roger that. The second Predator is almost in position. Make it count, these things don't grow on trees." He replies

"There's the submarine! Right below that crane! Nat, soften up their defenses with the Predator! Watch for the flashing strobes. That's us." Price says.

"That got their attention! The whole base is on alert! You better hurry. You've only got a couple minutes before that submarine dives." Soap tries not to panic.

"We're moving!" Price grabs Nat wrist's and pulls her out with him.

The team fights their way to the sub. It didn't take long before they reach the sub.

"I'm going for the sub! Cover me from that guardhouse by the west gate!"

Ghost: Roger that! Roach, we have to get to that guardhouse by the west gate to cover Price! Follow me!

They head up to the roof of the guardhouse and take defensive positions. Nat can be seen going into the sub.

"All right, I'm inside the sub! Cover me, I need a few minutes!"  Nat says to the team. They shift fire to the north, killing off enemies on the dock.  The sub's silo doors begin to open.

Price says over the com,"Nat, are you there? The silo doors are opening on the sub, I repeat, the silo doors are opening on the sub!"

There's no response.

"Nat, come in! They're opening the silo doors on the sub! Come on! Hurry!"

Still no response.

"Nat, do you copy?! The silo doors are open! I repeat, the silo doors are open!"

"Good." Nat says calmly, almost too calm.

The ground shakes as a nuclear missile is launched from the sub.

"What? Wait - wait,Nat, no! We have a nuclear missile launch. Missile in the air! Missile in the air! Code Black, Code Black!"
