*Somewhere inside Halcion Castle*
"Captain Ferin, please don't do this!" Zarita begged as she was escorted to her room with spears digging into her skin.
"I do not recall His Majesty giving you permission to speak however you pleased." Captain Ferin seethed. "You're lucky His Majesty is being merciful and letting you remain in your room, wench."
Hearing these words it finally dawned on her life hung by the ever changing whim of her father. It only took a few minutes to reach the Princesses room but to her, it felt like hours of being poked and prodded by the spears surrounding her body, and with the realization that all it would take for her life to truly be at an end was one word from her father. It was with this sudden realization that she first started to understand her fathers descent into madness.
"You shall not leave this room without an armed escort consisting of myself and at least one more guard," commanded Captain Ferin "Lieutenant Kimel will no longer be your attending guard because of his utter failure in keeping you under control."
"I understand Cap..."
SLAP
"I did not give you permission to speak." growled Captain Ferin "You are not Her Royal Highness anymore, you are simply a whore wearing the guise of a Princess. Know your place."
The shock of this statement hit harder than even her fathers order to lock her in her room with the Royal Guards ensuring her keep. It was then that she recognized one of the faces of the guards, and realization of her situation truly hit home. He was one of the members of her resistance group that was with her that night. She had thought him to be a common soldier who hated what her father had done to the Moon Elves, but she had been wrong, he was knight retainer to the Captain of the Guard himself. Which could only mean one thing. Her father knew all along what she was doing and had used her to locate and kill Jax'in. Her own actions were the true cause of his death.
"You... you were there that night..." she whispered barely loud enough the guard to hear.
"Captain, permission to reveal my achievement?" requested the Knight.
"Granted." Captain Ferin replied with a malicious grin.
"Yes, I was there that night, the Hounders that were sent out weren't tracking that mongrel elf, they were tracking me." he smiled maliciously "His Majesty ordered me to gain your trust as one of the fodder soldiers, he knew from the moment he started this war that you would side with those inhuman pieces of trash."
"But... your wife was a Nekarian murdered by the Royal Justiciars..." Zarita stammered.
"No, I followed the Justiciars, waiting for you to show up after we exterminated the vermin. You even believed my story without a second thought." he crowed.
"You see, you are nothing but a naïve girl playing at being a hero." Captain Ferin laughed as the rest of the guards donned cruel smiles.
The Princess felt more tears burning her eyes as these cruel men laughed at her trampled goal. Before to long the guards opened the door to her room, and as she went to walk into the room the worst happened. Captain Ferin nodded to the two closest guards and they grabbed her gown, wrenching it off her body in shreds before another guard grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her onto the floor in her room.
Stunned, scared, and lying on her floor in her undergarments, Zarita curled up covering herself as best she could before hearing the tattered remains of her gown being thrown next to her on the floor while the malicious laughter of the guards become subdued by the slamming of her doors. And it was right there that she finally let her emotions run free, she balled for hours before her shaking body finally couldn't take anymore and she passed out on the floor, surrounded by the tattered remains of her gown.
*Inside the Lunar Grove*
Below the boughs of an old oak tree, tossing and turning with a furrowed brow and a scowl on his lips was Jax'in. Sunlight started to splash across Jax'ins face as the sun was reaching its noontime peak. As the sunlight slowly covered Jax'ins face the glinting sheen of sweat become undeniably visibly upon his skin. Suddenly Jax'in rocketed to his feet with a panicked look in his eyes and his hand already drawing the Iron Longsword from its sheath preparing to strike. After looking around the grove as if the fogged over images of the an obscure Cat-eared demi-human being chased by a shadow from his dreams would appear in the grove with him.
"What... the hell... was that..." Jax'in huffed as he slowly gained control over his breathing.

"Oh... shit..." Jax'in whispered before flopping onto the ground in surprise.
Jax'in had heard stories about the ancient Dreamseers and how their premonitions has saved countless lives during the early years of the Age of Kings due to the constant fighting between the human Royals and the nomadic tribes of the Nekarian Desert. They were legendary beings among the Moon Elves, and a highly guarded secret from the other races. Jax'in suddenly felt something hot welling up in his eyes as this revelation hit him. He was a Dreamseer, but the gift had come too late to save his people, and this knowledge hurt worse than any arrow or sword being thrust through his chest.
"Why is the world so cruel. To give me this ability now, even though my people needed someone with it when that damn tyrant started this damn war!" He cried to the heavens in angry indignation.
In his anger at the world he made a decision that would forever change him forever. It was in this moment that Jax'in decided that no matter what happened he would use his gift to save as many lives as possible and ensure that none of the other races would face extinction like his. He would use the time his gift had given him to save everyone he could reach, even if it meant his life would end. For, in that moment, the resolve forming in Jax'ins mind grew and grew until his need for survival became eclipsed.
'Time to go.' Jax'in thought to himself as he located the Nekarian Desert on his map and started sprinting towards the border.
For that entire first week Jax'in sprinted from the Lunar Grove and through the Moon Forest, fueling his body with his Spirit every time he felt himself tiring from his mad dash. Every time he fueled his body with Spirit he could feel something inside him changing, and by the end of the first week he discovered what that feeling was. A new Skill.

A slow smile creeped across Jax'ins face as he realizes that this one skill could make all the difference in preventing his premonitions warning. With this sudden realization he felt a flood of renewed purpose flood his body, giving a little extra power to his stride.
It took another two days in the early dawn for Jax'in to arrive at the border of Halcion and the desert kingdom of Nekaria. After closing out his map Jax'in once again picked up his pace as he raced towards the border, as the first rays of sunlight crested the horizon and glinted off something only few hundred kilometers in front of Jax'in, causing him to slow his pace to walk as he closed the distance to the remaining five hundred meters that he lay on the ground and crawled the remaining meters.
It wasn't until he closed the distance to fifty meters that he finally understood what exactly it was he saw. It was a four man patrol of of Halcion soldiers with one soldier dressed in leathers on a fast horse. The worst part, they were heading directly for Jax'in. So, he did the only thing he could. He unslung his bow and knocked an arrow, waiting for them to draw closer before attacking. As the patrol neared their conversation drifted into Jax'ins ears.
"Can't believe His Majesties Royal Hounders finally got that hybrid prince." the man on the fast horse said nonchalantly
"Me either, did you hear how they finally caught him?" replied a man holding a Iron short spear.
"I heard his highness sent the Hounders after him." said the man with the man to his left with a steel longsword strapped to his thigh.
The last man of the patrol looked around quickly before looking at the others and lowered his spear before speaking in a voice just barely audible to Jax'in saying "Your right, but my cousin in the castle was in the palace the night the news got to His Majesty. Princess Zarita was the mastermind behind how those insects always avoided our patrols for so long."
"Bullshit! Your cousin is a maid in the palace." exclaimed the horseman.
"No I'm serious, she was outside the throne room when it happened and she saw the guards escorting her at spearpoint!" the man retorted.
"Oh, so did they drag her to the jails?" asked the man with the longsword.
"Hehe, no. The guards stripped her dress right off her body before tossing her back in her old room. Apparently the whole castle is calling her the Whore Princess." the man with the spear said with a lecherous tone in his voice.
At the mans word Jax'in felt an anger flare up in his chest like none he had ever felt before. And in this anger he bolted to his feet and loosed the knocked arrow and quickly knocking and releasing a second arrow hitting the Spearwielder in the chest leaving the other three members of the patrol stunned. Jax'in quickly drew his longsword and bolted up to the swordsman, droving his blade deep into the mans chest leaving it stuck fast in the mans ribcage. After seeing the second member of their patrol go down the horseman slapped the reigns forcing the horse into a gallop, hoping all the while that he could make it to the Guardhouse only a kilometer away before the elf could make it across the border.
In his anger Jax'in didn't even care that the man on the horse was rushing away as he drew the dead swordsman's steel longsword, and just before cleaving downwards in a powerful slash a silver glow enveloped the blade. The last member of the patrol raised his spear in a hopeful defense only to witness the glowing longsword cleave through the spear shaft as if it were a piece of clothe and the last seconds of his vision split in half as his body crumpled to the ground, cleaved into two halves by Jax'in.

Jax'in barely gave these new notifications a moments thought before wrenching his Iron Longsword from the dead swordsman's body and rushing off at full sprint towards the border. He had barely crossed the border when his ears picked up the slight telltale whistle of an arrow and threw himself to the side. Without even looking back Jax'in charged headlong into the waiting desert, with only the foggy memory of a large oasis and a sandy pyramid as his compass to find where he needs to be.
