Only a few hours had gone by since Instructor Kubo had left Jax'in to study the Manuals in the tent. He had not been idle in informing the six Nekarian students, and had them all packed up and ready to run back to the Mana Oasis. But as the fourth hour started slipping by he decided to check on Jax'in, only to witness the once thin seeming elf stand up with a body sturdier than even most body cultivators.
"I gave you a the meditation manual for the Breathe of Mana, how have your muscles filled out this much?" he nearly yelled in stunned amazement.
"I don't know, I finished reading the codex's you gave me and must have passed out," Jax'in lied "I only woke up just a few moments ago."
Instructor Kubo eyed him seriously, feeling the obvious lie even before Jax'in spoke. He wanted to ask him if it had anything to do with the reason he needed to find the royal family. However, he didn't get the chance as the six students came rushing into the tent only to stop and gawk at Jax'ins form.
"Well, if your ready to..." Instructor Kubo started before something soft brushed against him and a light rumbling sound could be heard to his side.
"Your highness." he stated coolly
She barely even blinked at Instructor Kubo's tone, instead the purring noise only seemed to grow louder as she sized Jax'in up. In those next few moments Jax'in would discover why Instructor Kubo was nicknamed 'The Tyrant Instructor' of Nekaria.
He watched Princess Vera's tail with an ice cold smile and raised his booted foot only to slam it onto her tail and in the same motion grabbed and pull her ear through her headdress. The pain instantly threw Vera out of her daze with a painful yowl, that to Jax'ins ears sounded more like a the mewl of the Jade Leopard cub his parents let him take care of when he was young.
"Owowowow!"
"Are you done embarrassing yourself now, Your Highness" Instructor Kubo asked mockingly.
"Yesyesyes, so please let go Master Kubo." she pleaded only to end up sitting in the sand hugging her tail.
The silence in the tent was nearly palpable as the other five students looked at her with a stern expression while Jax'in just looked on in complete and utter surprise. It didn't take long for the silence to be broken by none other than Jax'in.
"A tail..."
At his words the silence broke and the already deep blush on Vera's cheeks deepened again as the rest of the students started laughing so hard they had to sit down. Jax'in really had no clue why everyone was laughing until a familiar voice spoke up from the laughing mess of bodies.
"Haha... It means... ahaha... that she likes what she see's!"
Jax'in couldn't help but smirk at the man's comment. He quickly hid his smirk as he noticed the glare Instructor Kubo was directing toward the poor fool before the resounding crack of the butt of his spear striking the man's ribs.
"Dartl!" Instructor Kubo commanded "Do I need to strike all of you before you stop guffawing like wet-nurses and welcome the newest addition to the class?"
"What?"
"As of today, Jax'in Gail'Toren shall become my direct student." Kubo replied matter of factly.
Silence.
No one had expected this. Instructor Kubo was known to never take on a personal student before, all the other instructors had taken one or two each, but not 'The Tyrant Instructor' Kubo. All of them currently sitting on the sand had been appointed to him for this semester because they were all the top of their respective class. No one had expected Instructor Kubo to ever take on a personal student.
"How long has it been?" asked Jax'in
"Almost four hours," Instructor Kubo said with no hesitation "as long as we don't run into any trouble along the way we will arrive in thirteen hours."
Before Jax'in could say another word everyone stood up and left the tent to grab their packs and wait for the order to move. At a wave of his hand, the tent and the single bedroll flowed through the air, folding and wrapping themselves into the pack sitting at Instructor Kubo's feet.
"We should leave now, the more ground we cover before noon the better. Here, you'll want this." he said before tossing the iron longsword.
Jax'in simply nodded his head as he caught his weapon and reattached it to his hip before exiting the tent and joining the rest of the group outside. After joining up with the group he heard a familiar purring sound off to his right only seconds before someone poked his arm.
"H.. hi." Princess Vera stammered while between purrs.
"Hello, My Lady." Jax'in smirked cheekily before snatching her hand and giving it a quick kiss, causing the purring to increase.
As he looked up he could see both the deepening blush on her face, and the jealous glare the others were giving him. It wasn't much longer before Instructor Kubo joined the rest of the group and smacked Jax'in on the back for encouraging the princess.
"Nekarians mate for life." Instructor Kubo whispered into Jax'ins ear before giving the order to start running.
-Sprint activated-
-Windwalk activated-
-User Agility increased to 120-
Jax'in's first step left a cloud of dust and astonished faces behind him. The look of astonishment on Instructor Kubo's face quickly turned into one of concentration as he smiled and started running after him, followed quickly by Princess Vera. The others took only a moment more to start chasing them.
It took three minutes for both Instructor Kubo and Princess Vera to catch up to Jax'in. Both individuals were so surprised by the sheer speed that they both thought that he had already reached rank 2 of the Windwalk spell. This thought only increased the rate of Vera's purring as she stared at Jax'ins back, and also caused Instructor Kubo to throw a stern glare her way.
Which did absolutely nothing.
"Jax'in, what rank have you achieved in the Windwalk spell?" he asked instead of paying anymore attention to Vera.
"Rank one." his response nearly made the other two trip out of surprise.
"But rank one should only produce a small boost in speed, not this." Vera purred.
"Jax'in, would you mind opening your Mana pool to me so I might test its strength?" Kubo questioned.
"How would testing the strength of my Mana help explain the boost in my speed?" Jax'in questioned as the others slowly caught up one by one.
"It won't, at least not immediately," Kubo explained "but it will give me an idea of your strength in comparison to the rest of the group."
'System, can you grant others access to inspect my abilities' Jax'in thought
-User request granted-
"Go ahead." he said only to see another window pop up at the same time.
-Surrounding friendly combatants granted temporary access to view the users Mana and Spirit pool-
As he saw this notification his eyes widened in fear, he could hear the sharp gasps and the retching of one person spilling the contents of his stomach on the sand. He stopped running and looked back at the group with a sheepish smile on his face.
"I only meant to show Instructor Kubo my Mana pool," Jax'in apologized "I didn't mean to show both pools t..."
Before he could finish his sentence he was tackled to the ground by the intensely purring Princess Vera as she covered his lips in hers. She had nearly started taking off his clothes before Instructor Kubo lifted her off him and threw her back towards the others, releasing his own Killing Aura that left even Jax'in scrambling for breath.
"Jax'in. I will ask you once, and only once." he said with a cold glint in his eyes "What Class are you that you can manifest a strong Mana and Spirit pool?"
"I... I..." Jax'in stammered
"No. Secrets." Kubo growled as he lifted his Killing Aura allowing everyone to breathe.
"My class is Moonsilver," he replied without thinking "It's the secret class of the Moon Elves."
"Assassin." whispered Dartl before lifting his spear and preparing to throw it at Jax'in.
Time seemed to slow down as Jax'in witnessed the spear fly through the air only to be caught mere centimeters from his face by Instructor Kubo.
"Are you truly an assassin?" he asked as he released his Killing Aura directly onto Jax'in
"N...o..." was all Jax'in could manage as fear quickly overtook his mind.
