It was 9:30 pm when Elizabeth arrived at her place; she opened her door revealing a silent and empty apartment. It was quit lonely for her to be honest, not having anyone to come home to or not having anyone over. it's not that she didn't enjoy it it's just that sometimes she wished she wasn't so alone. She threw her jacket and handbag on the couch and headed into the kitchen; it had been a long day for her and she hasn't eaten anything since this morning.
She grabbed a bite of some leftover pizza she had from last night, standing there leaning on the counter she wondered if things will ever change; if maybe someday she won't be alone, but that seemed silly. She shook her head trying not to think about it to much.
Trying to think about other things she remembered what agent brown had told her earlier about learning to control her powers and decided to give it a try.
Elizabeth didn't know what the exact purpose of her powers were but there where a few things she knew how to do with them. She stretched out her arms and aimed them on a spoon lying on the counter; she closed here eyes and relaxed here shoulders she put all of her focus on the spoon, when she opened them she was surprised to see that it was now floating in front of her. She let out a small chuckle as she spun it around.
"Maybe this won't be so hard after all" she said in an undertone.
She kept playing around with other objects when she accidentally sent a knife flying towards a vase breaking it.
Oh crap, this was a gift from my neighbors. ......Maybe I can fix it.
She focused on the broken pieces in front of her trying to put them back together; they flew up almost getting reattached but nothing happened.
Oh well, we weren't that close anyway.
She picked them up and threw them away in the garbage, afterwards she got herself ready for bed.
Before getting into bed she looked out the window out into the city that never sleeps enjoying the view, it might've been very noisy and crowded but it was a beautiful sight to look at.
Brown said I didn't have any missions coming up; maybe I'll go out tomorrow. I rarely even get the chance to enjoy myself.
She thought, drifting of to sleep immediately from how tired she was.

The next day Elizabeth went into town looking for things to do; she decided to go to this new cafe that just opened, the place was really small and cozy so it was the perfect place to start with. She ordered herself an espresso and sat on a table by herself taking out a book she had bought with her.
She stayed there for a while enjoying the warm and sweet smell of the place when out of the corner of her eyes she noticed a man looking slightly drunk approaching her, she rolled her eyes staying focused on her book.
"Is this seat taken by any chance?" He slurred his words leaning on the chair in front of her.
"Actually, no. That seat is not taken. but mine will be if you decide to sit down" she said still not looking up from her book.
He chuckled a bit taking a seat anyway, "So playing hard to get"
She finally put her book down getting really irritated and looked him in the eye, "Honey, I'm impossible to get so don't bother"
"Huh You are...something else"
"Oh you have no idea" she picked up her book and handbag getting up from her seat.
"Anyways I should get going—he stood up grabbing her by the arm—can I have my arm back?"
"You didn't even let me buy you a drink"
"Not interest. Let me go"
"You might regret this" he tried to argue with her.
"Alright listen here buddy; you think I don't know what your doing? Do you think I'm that stupid? I know how guys like you go to places to pick up girls thinking they'll do whatever you tell them"
"I'm sorry?"
"Let me guess, you just got dumped and you thought that drinking was the solution, so you went out, walked into this random cafe laid your eyes on the first woman you saw hoping for some sympathy. Newsflash, it won't work"
"I don't have time for this" he let go of her heading outside but stopped in his tracks, he turned around and got closer to her.
"Oh and one more thing-he whispered in her ear- the dark one sends his regards" and with that he left leaving Elizabeth standing there with a confused and terrified look on her face.
What the hell was that about.
She waited for him to be out of sight before getting out herself still creeped out.
She walked around for a while enjoying the fresh air trying not to think too much about what that man had just said. What could he possibly mean by 'the dark one'?
She was to deep into her thoughts that she jumped and gasped at her phone ringing, it was agent brown.
Ugh Really, now!
She picked it up hoping it wasn't another mission, "Hello?"
"We need you, come over here as soon as soon as possible" was all he said before hanging up.
"Wait...what? Brown? Brow—oh you've got to be kidding me" she sighed.
Well it was fun while it lasted, let's get back into action.
~time skip to the organization~
"Ms. Foster, glad you could make it. Sorry we had to call you in on such short notice but this is really important" agent brown greeted her signaling her to follow him.
"No it's fine, I wasn't that busy anyway"
"Good, because what we found out is really big"
"Where exactly are we going?"
"Those files you brought in yesterday, I was looking into them and I found some pretty interesting stuff" he began to explain.
"Oh so now you decide to share them with me" she smirked.
"Well now that we know they involve you we had no choice"
"What?" Her smirk faded stoping in her tracks.
"I'll explain everything once we're alone, come on in here"
They walked into an elevator except instead of pressing the buttons that where already there, Brown took out a remote from his pocket and pressed a button, leading them way down underground.
"What is this place?" She asked him looking around, there where only a few agents working here but they walked into a different room locking the door behind them.
"I had this place built for emergencies or extremely classified stuff but nobody knows about it so you can't say a word"
She nodded sitting on one of the chairs in there. Brown opened his computer connecting it to a projector showing information about a certain man.
"This is Lawrence Anderson-he began to explain- he is one of the most powerful and dangerous people we have ever encountered with"
"How powerful?" She asked seriously examining the information.
"Like dark magic powerful"
"Dark magic? There are other people who posses powers?"
"Not the same as yours; this guy can kill and control everything and anyone he wants with as much as a snap from his fingers, there's more to it but we can't figure anything else out yet"
"You have a picture of him?"
"Unfortunately we couldn't find one. We were barely able to get this information as little as it is. But we did manage to get this symbol...
It was a weird symbol, the lower part of it looked like horns and slightly above the middle was a circle. And it was black and white.
She looked at it for a while wondering where she had seen it before, then she gasped realizing that the men who approached her at the cafe had the same symbol on his jacket.
"Agent are you alright?" He asked her quit concerned.
"I ran into a man who had the same symbol as this in his jacket"
"Did you catch his name?"
"No"
"Did he say anything?"
"He said: 'the dark one' sends his regards"
"That had to be one of his spies" he said trying to look up places on where could find these spies on his computer.
"One of his spies?"
"We believe that this man has a bunch of spies or whatever going around gathering information for something"
"Information on what?"
"Well for starters...you" he looked her in the eye finding no luck on where the others could be.
"M-me!" She asked in shock.
"We think that he might be the source of your powers"
Her eyes widened pinching the bridge of her nose, she struggled to find words. Could this guy be the answer to all of her questions? And why is he the reason she has these powers? Did he give them to her for a reason or was it by accident?
"What can I do?" She asked in a tight voice.
"Agent Foster this is not a you thing, you're going to need help"
"I'm sorry what?" She snapped standing up.
"You can't possibly expect yourself to do this on your own can you?"
"Ok first, I've always handled things by myself just fine; and like you said: this is a very dangerous guy, don't you think to defeat a powerful person it's going to take another powerful person!" She protested against the idea not loving the fact that she has to work with someone else, mostly because she doesn't do well with others.
"Agent just because you posses a power that no one else does, does not mean that you can do everything by yourself. This is going to be a really dangerous and long mission you're not doing this without help"
She opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed it knowing she'll probably regret it, and gave in accepting the help.
"So who am I working with?" She asked picking up the files reading them again.
"Agents Peter Thompson, and John Williams"
"John Williams?!" She gasped.
"Yes, do you know him?"
"No, well yes...I mean not...not really. I ran...ran into him yesterday, nothing...nothing happened it was just a uhh.....it-it was a minor encounter, that's all" she whispered the last part scratching the back of her neck, hating herself for stammering so much.
Why the hell am I stammering, this isn't like you. Get a grip!
He raised his eyebrows looking at her weirdly, "alright then... . If it's not to much trouble I was hoping to introduce you"
"Yes of course, Let's meet them"
