Everything is done. After further examine it looks like the boxes will produce two weeks worth of crops, and the crops should be able to be harvested every month.
we will need to double the production, a truck would do the job. Let's wake her up.
''Hey wake up we need to go now'' I said.
She woke up soon after. After looking around the house, she asked, ''where's the farmer?''
''He is out to get something important, we don't have the time to wait for him.'' ''Ohh. I see... he looked a bit scary to me'' she replied.
'' Is that so?'' I remarked.
So she was afraid of him. Well then it was for good I suppose.
After a moment we went out with those harvested crops, trolly over which I put three boxes, that will work as a food supply for us and the axe.
As we were walking along the road we saw that the roads that leads to other cities are blocked. we had to take another way.
We exited the city by a forest right towards north, if I remember it correctly there might be another country that didn't took active part on the nuclear war.
As we were going through the forest I noticed there aren't any insects here. It's bad, that means the things living here can even kill those and have better senses.
though I can't see any animal mutated or not. That can only mean, they doesn't get out at day, good for us.
I want to save those crops for later, so we will need to have a fishing device. Fishes are the least mutated animals on earth now.
I cut a not so thick nor so thin branch of a tree by the axe, and carved it as a spear, this should help me fish.
After that I looked around and saw four tree in a perfect position to make our hut. I collected some vines and with her help I made the main structure, it's 10 feet above ground and has a roof. It should do for today.
After that I went to fish and caught some fish for dinner. I caught 20 fish but we could only eat, 7 of them, though they were enough to get us stuffed. the others are not edible because of mutation, I'll take them for fuel, we could get some biogas out of them, if we get a big enough container. I told her to stay there at the hut.
After a while of walking I got what I needed, an empty abondoned hut. From there I got a container with 20 litre capacity, it has weels so moving it even when it's full won't be hard. Now I just need some boxes, transparent plastic and a truck for traveling.
I went back with those and then put the remaining 13 fish into the container.
after I put all 13 of them into the container I caught some more fish for the night.
afterwards there was near to no light we ate the edible fish and she went to sleep. I should not sleep, I had to protect her, I don't think they won't be able to reach us. I was standing right under it with the axe on my hand.
When it was almost midnight, I heard a roar, it's like that of a lion, I was ready for a fight.
it attacked from the dark forest I dodged and attacked it at the neck with the axe, it didn't cut all the way. It seems like 5 hits should be enough.
I couldn't attack it directly, it's gonna over power me if I did. I had to wait for it to attack me.
it attacked again this time I leaped towards right and was able to attack it twice.
Right after I attacked, it flinched, and I could get another hit. Now the bone can almost be seen.
this should be the final attack, after some careful movement it attacked. I tried to attack back, but it dodged and attacked back, I defended myself by the axe, it's power is overwhelming, I fell. it backed and jumped right at me to bite my neck. I used the spear to stop it and his moth got stuck. While it was trying to get the spear out of it's mouth, I dealt the final blow, it was dead, but it was not over yet, there were atleast 11 more of them.
Unlike the normal lions, they do not attack in groups, and the males hunt too. They aren't nearly as social as normal lions are. They don't like company.
Because of that I was able to defend myself from four more, without getting hurt. Then morning came and they disappeared in the wilderness without a trace.
Afterwards I cut those who I have just killed and put them in that container. It filled half of the container.
After several more hours I woke her up. As we were departing I collected some of the vines from the hut, this should come in handy later.
I can keep this up for upto 28 days straight but after that I'll need to sleep. I'll need to find a safe shelter before 28 days.
