Ivan got twenty-one copper coins from Reco and thirteen from Jon. Ivan didn't know their real value, but he at least guessed they were the lowest in the amount of all the coins that can be used as currency.
Ivan then stripped Jon of his clothes and wore it himself.
After covering his face with a cloth, Ivan walked out of the cave, leaving the dead Reco and the unconscious and naked Jon inside the cave.
He closed the entrance as there was a lever to the side that moved the circular stone when pulled or pushed.
"Grrr!... Khachak!"
There was only one way out; therefore, Ivan didn't find it difficult to walk through the tunnel, which should be human-made and excavated inside the Blacktooth hill.
The tunnel exit was situated at quite a height and above the camp of the bandits. He had to go down pass through the middle of the bandit camp if he wants to go down the hill and reach the road which goes to the White tiger city in the east. When Ivan came out, his eyes squinted because of the sunlight. He had stayed inside that cave for too long. Therefore it took some time before his eyes could adjust itself to the light.
What came before his eyes was a vast expanse of a dense forest that expanded to almost everywhere he could perceive through his eyes. He spotted a road leading to the City, which he could vaguely make out on the eastern horizon. That should be his final destination.
Ivan also spotted the bandit camp. Thankfully, he was at a remote place, and it would be hard for any of the bandits to spot him coincidentally even if they looked up.
Ivan saw too many people gathered inside the camp. He couldn't risk his life sneak through it.
The only way he could go was upwards. But maybe someone could accidentally see him since the hill was only covered in sparse trees and bushes. It couldn't hide him. Therefore, Ivan thought of staying here until it gets dark. Anyway, there should not be much time left for the sun to set in the west direction.
Just then, Ivan spotted a rat coming out from under a rock.
With nothing to do, Ivan thought of killing the rat to get Exp.
"Maybe this game like system could help me become stronger and help better protect myself if I had to stay here in this unknown world." Ivan mulled over as he stabbed the small rat on seeing an opening.
Chime!

Some bandits were making a circle were pushing a woman inside of it here and there. "Haha, old dog, push her to me, let me touch her pretty skin," A bandit called out to another bandit currently grabbing the woman's hand. "Alright, here she goes." the bandit instead pushed her to another bandit while teasing the one who called him an old dog. "Hey, come on," the first bandit protested, seeing the old man making fun of him. The woman instead was trying to save herself from being humiliated by the bandits. Like a scared bunny, she jumped, dodged, pleaded, and even tried to get out of the circle to escape, but nothing worked. The bandits were having their fun playing with the dignity of the woman. Ivan was looking at this scene while gritting his teeth. But he stopped his impulse to get the better of him. "She's not related to me. This world is not the same. I can only protect myself" Ivan turned his eyes the other way. Suddenly, he heard voices sounding from below as if it was directed at him. "Oy, Jon, catch her. Don't let her run away." The old dog shouted. Ivan turned again hesitantly and saw that the women had somehow managed to run out of the circle and was currently headed towards him by climbing the small path that goes up to his place. "Damn you bitch!... Why did you have to escape in my direction?" Ivan cursed in his heart. He was not a person with a clean mouth. He had picked up the habit of cursing from living on the streets and the orphanage. But Ivan was also a little relieved seeing the woman being able to escape from the clutches of the bandits. The old dog must have seen him when the woman started going up the hill. He stopped his comrade from shooting the woman's leg with an arrow before pointing at the Ivan. "Jon, bring her back down. We haven't played with her enough." Another bandit shouted, mistaking Ivan for Jon due to his clothes. The woman looked up and also him with terrified eyes. She immediately diverted from her path and started climbing the hill in a different direction. Ivan could only sigh and go after her since he didn't want the bandits to see through his disguise. He slowed down intentionally so that the woman can cross by him and quickly move upwards. "... Oy, old dog, it seems even Jon likes to play the game of mouse and cat. See, he is climbing so slowly; he must be intentionally letting the girl keep on running." "Haha, let me play. He is still young. We can let him have some fun." the old sog said as he looked up the hill. The other bandits laughed, seeing the woman slip, fall, and climb upwards again. She screamed at Jon to stop following her and even threw a few stones at him. 'Climb to heavens if you want to escape, but why do you have to hit me? I'm not even trying to catch, can't you see?" Ivan grumbled as he dodged another stone that dangerously passed by his head, just an inch of difference from hitting him. The woman was soon going to reach the top, and it only then did the old dog felt something wrong. Jon had still not caught up with the woman. Didn't he know the woman might slip and roll down from the other side of the hill? Then no one could have her. It wasn't until both Jon, and the woman crossed over to the other side of the hill that the old dog ordered some people to go after them. "What's the matter, old dog? I'm sure Jon can bring her back. He must be having fun since he usually doesn't get to play with the prey we capture." The old dog didn't know how to explain to his fellow bandit. He just shrugged his shoulders and said he sent the men so that Jon doesn't do it with the woman first while he is out of their sights. --------------------------------------------------------- Authors Note: Do read my first novel 'The Pleasure Lord' that has more than 250 chapters uploaded.
