Chapter 1 - 1. Princessa

Camryn's POV

The sun shone through the cracks of my black curtains illuminating the room. Birds chirped obnoxiously, beckoning me to wake up, and to my distaste I pulled the sheets from my body.

The cold air was cruel and unwanted as I stretched on the soft plush bed; my phone rings. It was an unknown number, and I answered it hesitantly.

"Hello?"

"I have a job for you; Heers Park, at noon."

There was silence before the call disconnected and I threw my phone on the nightstand. A different person as usual; I wonder what this job will be.

I reluctantly got dressed; grabbing my phone and keys I left my apartment and drove to the nearest coffee shop.

***********

It was noon now as I waited on a park bench for the mysterious caller. The cool autumn chill caressed my bare face as the leaves danced across the pavement. The sound of distant laughter could be heard from the opposite end of the park before slow footsteps crept towards me.

The man's dark figure dressed in a black trench coat and hat couldn't have been more suspicious. No words were exchanged, only a piece of paper before he stood up and walked in the direction he came from.

I knew better than to question or pry for more information. Opening up the piece of paper there was a photo attached.

The man had dirty blond hair, and sunglasses covering his eyes. His face was serious and he wore an expensive suit. No bad looking, and easy on the eyes. I tucked the photo into my back pocket and read over the profile:

Angello DeRicci:

Next known location: OMNIA Nightclub @8:00pm

Assignment: Kill on sight

Great, a club where there will be plenty of people. I don't think I could get him alone without doing things I didn't want to do but I guess it couldn't be helped.

************

It was finally 7:45pm and after careful preparation I started to put plan kill the stud in motion. I parked my black dodge challenger in the back of the club just in case I needed a quick get away.

The thunderous music could be heard blocks away, even from the outside I could smell the stench of alcohol and smoke. It invaded my senses; reminding me of all the times I had gotten shitfaced with friends.

I had dressed in a short strapless red dress that hugged my every curve and my raven hair fell down my back in small waves.

I sat in my car trying to muster the balls to walk into the club. Sliding my small revolver into my big enough hand purse I take a deep breath and step out into the wild night.

Everything happens as it should, what you do with what you're given is up to you. It's go time!

The club was packed as bodies grinded to the music while others drank. I scurried to the bar avoiding the lustful stares around me; I was on a mission and there was no messing up.

"Bourbon please," I said, not making eye contact with the bartender.

"I'll take the same as the pretty lady here and you can put both drinks on my tab."

I turned swiftly to see none other than Angello himself in all his dangerous glory.

We made eye contact over the boisterous crowd, and I pretended to blush while looking away. He was certainly forward, that's for sure.

"Pretty huh? You don't look too bad yourself. Thanks for the offer of buying me a drink but I'm fully capable of paying for myself thank you."

His laugh was warming and a part of me relaxed at the sound of it; his smile wide.

"I'd like to think of myself as a little more than...pretty princess. But for you...pretty is an extreme understatement, so let me buy a stunning girl a drink, yeah?"

As if on que the bartender slid both glasses of bourbon towards us and he raised his glass. I smiled and clinked my glass with his downing my drink and dragging him to the dance floor.

My hips swayed seductively to the loud music and for a moment all he did was stare before giving me a perfect mischievous smile and under the red lights of the club his face was even more seductive.

We danced sensually; our bodies never leaving each other for even a second. To my surprise there was no lustful intention behind his actions or movements; only gentleness and respect. It's when I look into his eyes now that I see he is happy and a part of me aches at the thought of killing him.

"I'm tired, buy me another drink?"

This time he took my hand into his and I couldn't help but blush...only for a second as he led me towards a VIP room. The room was quieter compared to the thunderous music beyond the door.

As I sat in the chair across from his he poured multiple shots of tequila and we both downed them.

"You know...you're not like other girls I see at this Club," he laughed, downing another shot.

"Mmmm...how so," I smiled, waiting for his answer intently.

"I don't know...your eyes-"

"My eyes," I laughed, almost spitting my drink out. "And what's so different about my eyes?"

"...they're strong. I see the eyes of a fighter...a feisty one at that. So tell me, what are you fighting for?"

All was silent, and for a moment I had forgotten why I was really here in the first place. I don't know this man, and I was given a job...a job I must regretfully fulfill.

He sat there patiently waiting for my answer, and as he downed another shot I swiftly took out my revolver and pulled the trigger.

My heart rate skyrocketed when I saw Angello dodge my bullet and pull out his glock, pointing at me.

"Tch, tch, tch...you truly are different, that's for sure princessa. I saw it in your eyes, determination. Damn, and I was really hoping you were determined about something else a little more...intimate. I guess it doesn't matter now since, well I'm going to have to kill you. Thanks for a fun time yeah?"

He pulled the trigger but I slid out of my chair and rolled behind a couch barley avoiding the multiple bullets he had unleashed.

I looked over the couch to fire a couple of my own but like me had also found himself coverage from my attacks.

Bullets rained back and forth until neither of us could shoot no longer, and I was the first to come out from the comforts of my barrier.

Already predicting my move he met me halfway; circling each other like hungry wolves, but I knew better than to attack first. He would get impatient and when he did I would be ready.

He was serious now, reminding me of the picture I had of him tucked away in my car. He read me, waiting for me to let my guard down, open up, and reveal my skills.

A low grumble made itself known and swiftly he jumped towards me; his fist traveling towards my face, but I dodged it just in time. He was fast, but not as fast as me.

I observed the man before me carefully, he was strong and if I wasn't careful he'd knock me out in one blow. He obviously knew how to fight, he was calm and collected, slightly impatient.

God what did I get myself into this time!

We threw punches left and right, both of us slowly dwindling, me more than him. I pretended to throw a left punch and I knew he would likely grab my arm and instead I surprised him and threw a right punch just as he captured my left, successfully knocking him to the ground.

I didn't have the energy to keep fighting and bolted to the back door while he was still weak. Putting my keys into the ignition I zoomed off onto the busy street.

He wasn't far behind me, as I swerved through the intense traffic and drifted into different streets. I was close to losing him before I heard a gunshot followed by my back window shattering. SHIT!!

I had never had this much trouble on a mission. Whoever this guy was wasn't your average joe schmoe.

A couple more gunshots rang, and more glass broke. I stuck out my middle finger from the window before quickly pulling back onto the steering wheel. I had put a lot of money towards this car and now my baby was ruined.

A couple more drifts and down some hard to navigate alleyways and he was off my tail. Did I lose him? I didn't put much more thought into it and continued to drive back out onto the main road.

I stared at the road ahead before something to my left caught my eye, and all I saw were headlights. FUCK!!

I felt my car skid across the street smashing against the pavement. Glass flew and my body was flung around violently before the car came to an abrupt stop.

My head spun, my ears were on fire, my vision blurred; I couldn't feel my body.

I saw someone approaching me, the sound of glass crunched beneath their feet.

"Nice try, princessa."
