Y/N's POV
Weeks passed, and the school life to me quite changed, but not too much. The day when I ran away from Jungkook, I've never spoke to him ever since. Hypnotizing? Were my feelings towards him just a "hypnosis" by him?
...I'm not the kind of person who believes in all these superpowers and supernatural, but ever since that ring and him got into my life...it made me feel lost and confused...
My studies went normal though! Thankfully, but Jungkook kept getting in the way. He kept trying to reach me, call me, meet me...was I too cruel to ghost him? What if all the things that I heard from the conversation between the 7 guys was false?
However, I tried to not think about it a lot. Besides, the ring stopped bothering me after that day...that's interesting.
At the sunny morning I woke up from the sound of my alarm. I was so excited for it because it was the day when the art event happens in my college. I'm crazyyyy over different art and designs, likewise I got my own art that I'd wanted to show to more people and see if they'd like it...I hope they would.
As soon as my mom dropped me off to by the campus, I happily went into the building and wow...there were so many people around. "I wonder if someone will notice my design" I thought as I was carrying my masterpieces.
I placed my design into the large board with other people's work on it, and to be honest, my art got attention by many people in less than a minute! It was pretty noticeable that they loved my work, likewise I received a lot of complimented from them, which made me feel satisfied and proud of myself! I smiled to all of them, then suddenly felt a bit too overcrowded by people.
I attempted to escape from the large crowd, and I successfully managed to get away, yet as I wasn't being too attentive, I accidently pumped into someone. As I looked up, my eyes met his... Jungkook" his name came out from my mouth all of the sudden. Jungkook's eyes widened as he saw me, yet I immediately started to walk away from him, until I felt him grabbing my wrist.
"Y/N stop avoiding me!" He spoke with a slightly angry tone. He pulled me back to him and our eyes met again, while he was holding my wrist tightly yet gently. The he continued, "I'll tell you the whole truth..." his tone suddenly dropped to nervousness, "...if you'd give me a second chance to make it up to you?..."
I sighed. I wanted to deny his offer, but to be honest, I did miss him a lot. So, I made up my mind, and gave him an opportunity to tell me everything. As I was looking at him, I unsurely nodded and waited for his respond.
He didn't say anything back, and instead pulled me away from the building. He let go of my wrist as soon as we reached outside, and then turned facing me and said, "I'm about to tell you the truth...but promise to not tell this to anyone, not even to Jin, nor Jimin, nor anyone you know or saw before."
This quite made me feel uneasy, but shrugged it off, nodded and replied with, "I promise."
Jungkook gave me a very small smile, and then led me to the nearest bench that was nearby. We sat down and then he started to speak, "What you've heard back in the days in our meeting...was true" he said, "we are here as part of our mission to save you from the two-coloured ring."
I already felt uneasy being around him, and wanted to leave him and go, but stayed and continued listening to him. "Jimin, Jin, Hobi, Tae, Yoongi, we are all part of it, to protect you, and Namjoon is our leader to make sure we do our job right..." after a small pause he continued, "the mission was sent by Bang PD...our king, that most of us are afraid to disappoint him"
Suddenly he stopped talking for a moment. I noticed that he felt tense, so I asked him "are you okay?"
Jungkook nodded and said, "I'm fine...I'll continue" then after a few seconds of pause he resumed, "The ring before belonged to the powerful queen long time ago, however ever since she died, the rumours spread that the ring is cursed and had all of her powers in it."
"You mean the ring with the two-coloured stone?" I asked.
He nodded, and added, "the ring began to behave strangely, it began to glow and appearing anywhere it wants, whoever wears it will fall asleep and travel through another world that no one knows about, likewise all the uncontrollable power will go into them...." Jungkook paused again and lowered his gaze.
I desperately wanted to ask more questions about the experiences with the ring, and how come he knew so much information about it, until he looked at me with darkness on his eyes, and spoke, "the person who wears it won't be able to control it and harm mostly themselves, they'd fall asleep and will have to wake up on their own, if someone takes the ring off from them while they asleep, they will never wake up and forever be trapped in wherever they travelled to..."
My heart skipped a beat as I heard these words, is that all true? Is there even a way to stop it? Lots of questions ran in my head, until Jungkook continued the story, "We once managed to save that person who got controlled by the ring, but they were very weak and only managed to heal in the next year...we captured the ring in a glass and guarded it until the glass suddenly cracked and got destroyed."
Jungkook looked around, to make sure no one was nearby, and once again continued, "Yoongi was the last one who guarded it, and got blamed as if it was his fault for letting the ring go, until he was proven innocent and joined us in capturing the ring one more time..." he sighed and felt even more uneasy, no matter how much he tried to hide it. "The ring turns out to have its own guardian, the black silhouette who you kept seeing. However, none of us can see him apart from Jimin and the person the ring is after for, which is you."
"Jimin? That explains a lot from his worriedness when he saw me following that creature last time" I thought.
"The ring teleported into a different world to find you, Y/N, to be its next owner, we can't let that happen because it could kill you with its uncontrollable power" Jungkook said and seemed concerned.
"Why me tho?" I asked, "Why did it choose me?"
"Nobody knows," he replied, "the ring chooses its own victim, avoid yourself from this ring as much as you can Y/N, as soon as we capture it, we will go back to our own world again."
His last words gave me another skip of my heartbeat. "You will be gone?..." a suddenly murmured which made Jungkook glance at me again. He slowly nodded, keeping his eye contact to me.
"Who are you guys..." I asked unsurely and quietly, but Jungkook managed to hear me. He replied, "We are known as the knights."
"What a joke..." I murmured in disbelief, barely catching all the information that I've gained, and looked away, "what about the hypnotism..?" I asked as I glanced back at him.
Jungkook lowered his gaze again yet didn't answer to my question. It didn't take him long to look back at me and replied, coldly, "I did this for the mission."
I felt anger built inside of me yet at the same time I felt upset...I trusted him, and this is what he did to me? Hypnotizing? What if he hypnotized me now...was this all friendship really fake? I couldn't sit any longer beside Jungkook anymore due to all the emotions I felt towards him, so I got up and was ready to leave, until I felt him grabbing my wrist again. "Y/N wait"
I pulled my hand away from him, yet I didnt walk away...I waited for him to explain what he wanted from me. "Y/N, I regretted doing that, I really did" he said with a low voice.
"Then what's the problem with you!" I yelled as I turned to face him, "Was our friendship really fake through this whole time?" I asked as I held back my tears.
"No, it wasn't, I know this is unforgettable but I'm sorry!" He spoke as he got up from his seat and walked closer to me. "I only hypnotized you once, at the first day we met, and then never again since I've realised how much you meant to me." he added.
"How should I believe you..." I asked unsurely as I kept my eye contact to him, desperately, "what if you're hypnotizing me now..." I lowered my gaze, "I trusted you...but the thing what you've done to me..." suddenly I felt emotional, likewise frustrated, UGH!
The silence covered us as the wind blew and danced with our hair to the side...Suddenly one more question hit me, and made me ask Jungkook...which would destroy the peaceful silence, "Why...couldn't you tell me about your mission before?"
I looked up at Jungkook, who seemed to still be looking at me eye to eye. Suddenly someone's deep voice interrupted us, "I think you've gained enough answers for your questions, Y/N."
I followed the voice and turned around, and spotted Taehyung 6 feet away from us. His sudden appearance seemed to make Jungkook startled as his face expression changed into a worried and shocked look. "Taehyung?" Jungkook's voice cracked as he pronounced his name, "What are you-" as he tried to question, Taehyung interrupted him, "Why don't you tell me what the hell have you just done?"
Jungkook turned fully facing Taehyung, as he gulped once nervously while looking at the confident yet disappointed man on front of him. I watched them both, speechless of what was going on.
"I warned you to not do anything stupid but here you are, betraying all of us by telling Y/N about us and the ring..." Taehyung said as he put both of his hands into his beige coat's pockets.
"She already overheard us Tae, she heard most of our conversation-" Jungkook spoke yet Taehyung interrupted him again, "So you just decided it'd be smart to tell her the whole 100% of this story," he added, "it was an accident, we didn't know she listened to our conversation, but the fact that you told her everything now, totally avoiding the king's orders."
"I already told you that I'm not part of the knights anymore, I quitted" Jungkook said with a more confident tone this time. Taehyung stopped and seemed to get a little angrier. He grabbed Jungkook by his shirt, pulling it tight closer to him. I panicked and yelled, "Taehyung let him go!" But he ignored me.
Suddenly Yoongi appeared out of the building, he quickly ran up to us and separated these 2 guys from each by grabbing them two with his bare hands from left to right, as if they weighted lighter than a butterfly. "What the" I though as Yoongi lowkey gave me the hulk vibes from his unexpected strength.
Very soon Yoongi let the guys go, and then Namjoon, Jimin, Hoseok and Seokjin came. A confused Namjoon asked, "What's going on in here?"
The furious Taehyung breathed heavily, and suddenly spoke, "You've made a huge mistake by inviting this child to this, I knew he'd ruin this mission!" He raised his voice as he pointed at Jungkook.
"Tae, calm down first of all" Jimin joined. Taehyung glanced at Jimin even more furious, and spoke sarcastically, "Calm down? Please, Jungkook told Y/N everything about our plan, about our mission, and including who we are," after a small pause he added, "and you're telling me to calm down? Wait until our king will calm the hell us down-"
"That's enough!" Namjoon interrupted Taehyung by raising his voice.
As I just watched the 7 boys talking 3 feet away from me, I abruptly put my hands to my jacket's pocket, then suddenly felt something small in my pockets. The small metal wrapped around my ring finger. As I pull my hands from my pocket...I saw something that made my heart suddenly skip 3 beats at once. The two-coloured ring, was on my finger on my right hand, shining with red and blue...
"Guys?..." I pronounced as I suddenly felt weaker and weaker. Jungkook noticed me first and immediately caught me in his arms as I collapsed. I managed to glance at Jungkook's worried face before I closed my eyes. I couldn't move, nor speak, the only thing I managed to hear was Jungkook's voice shouting my name, and soon I couldn't hear anything too.
Narrator's POV
As Y/N collapsed on Jungkook's arms, Jungkook kept shouting her name until he realised that it was too late. The rest of the boys ran up to them, they were all shocked from this all. Seokjin pronounced, "We failed the mission...haven't we?" And then the silent continued, until the frustrated Taehyung interrupted, "See? It's all Jungkook's fault, it's all his plan, and you're all still protecting him."
"Tae, stop!" Jimin shouted back, "What's the matter with you, I haven't seen you this angry before" he added as his tone lowered.
"Guys, stop arguing!" Hoseok joined into the conversation, "It doesn't matter who's fault it is anymore, all we can do now is to hope that Y/N will wake up soon."
"What if she won't?" Yoongi said as he glanced at Hoseok from the side. He didn't say anything back, likewise nobody did, and instead stayed silent.
Suddenly Namjoon spoke, "We did all we could, all we can do now is wait and protect her while she's asleep."
