"Water Magic Skill: Triple Water Bomb!"
While waiting for the other participants, a guy named Denz was able to cast one of the advanced magic spells from the tree of elements. Using his PECW, he accumulated a large quantity of mana and three magic water bombs have appeared right in front of his wand.
He flinched the wand and shoot it on the wooden dolls. It got blasted and all of them have started clapping. He turned his body to see the impression of all of his fellow Astrochist and he smiled as he saw them. Faye was also clapping.
Denz returned back to his position. He's sweating from nervousness but it is a good thing that he's able to cast a high ranking spell in a short amount of time. His desire for a great power is top notch.
"That was magnificent, Denz!"
"Yo, you're awesome, can you teach me how to do those advanced spells?"
Everyone forgot what they're assigned for and started revolutionizing around Denz. Due to his magnificent skills, he's now a popular Astrochist and everyone likes him.
"Alright everyone, let's focus on our activity we have more work to do. Who's next for the evaluation?" Using the quill, Faye checked something on the logbook she is holding. Those who are already done are now playing around the area and testing their skills and spells. Some of them are seating on the bench while reading their personal grimoire.
About 20% of the Astrochist have successfully managed to test their skills without any problem. They're assigned on the 4th yard located on the back of the central building, not that far away from the Dining hall. The other grandmasters have also started their evaluation of each skill in the other yards. There are at least 4 sections gauging from Fire, up to the Wind elemental users.
While they're testing each other, Nile took a break first. He sat down on the bench near Denz and started leaning his back. Denz stared at him.
"Yo, are you okay?" He asked. Nile suddenly noticed it, he shifted his gaze from the sky to Denz.
"Oh, yes, I'm alright." He responded.
"Are you really sure? It looks like you're about to faint." Denz continued to ask.
"Yeah, well, I'm not really good at crowds. I always get a headache whenever I'm stuck with a lot of people. I wish I'm strong enough to face them like you." Nile answered with a chuckle.
"Nah, don't worry about that. I'm sure you'll be able to surpass that feeling. Well, to be honest with you, I'm not really fond of them interrogating me. It composes a lot of hard work to face all of them." He said.
"By the way, how did you able to cast such an advanced magic spell?" Nile asked.
"Hmm, well, I just followed exactly what the Grandmaster have said a while ago. I upped my desire until I got used to it. It's not that hard if you have a clear mindset of your goals. Oh, and just to be clear, this isn't my first time casting these kinds of spells." Denz answered.
"Really?"
"Yeah, my grandfather is former Grandmaster as well. When I was little, he told me a bunch of things on how to control our Mana and be able to cast spells. He trained me until I got used to casting it. And yes, it's really hard especially when you're getting your ass whooped on each fail."
"Haha, sounds like you've got it rough. But hey, It's a good thing that you're able to control it and train it at an early age."
"Yeah, this will help me throughout various things and tests," Denz said.
"Next, Nile Watts." While having their conversation, Faye interrupted them by calling out Nile.
"Oh, it looks like it's your turn now. Good luck out there, man. Go do your best." Denz regained the mood by hyping Nile up.
"Haha, don't expect too much though, I'm still completely powerless," Nile responded as he walked slowly. He approached Faye and waited for the girl from the field to return back to its position.
"Even though you cast a spell earlier from the demonstration, we still need to see your potential for this test. Nile, do your best, I got a high expectation from you." Faye patted Nile's head. He realized that someone is rooting for him. If he is not going to surpass the barrier of his magical element, then he is not worthy of coming along with this program.
"Yes, Ma'am." He responded with a serious tone.
"Great job, Shea." Faye complimented the girl after she returned back.
"Thank you, Ma'am." She responded happily.
"It's your turn, Nile." Faye tapped Nile's shoulder. He equipped his PECW as well as his own personal Grimoire.
For the rest of the days, Nile hasn't been able to cast a single spell aside from his indirect chanting of a water ball made out of mana. He can only produce this basic spell without chanting but he cannot really control it nor manipulate it. Other than that, he can boost his body using the Elemental boost magic. That's the only current power he has.
Nile began to walk slowly to approach the field. Everyone stopped what they're doing for a while to see Nile's demonstration of yet another spell. He's nervous and has been sweating a lot. He remembered the bad dream he had a while ago and is currently overthinking about the situation.
'Calm down... calm down... this is your chance to get stronger... It's just easy, you just have to do the thing you've done earlier inside the section room... But how did I do it anyway? What's my desire of obtaining such power? Will I be able to do it again...?' His thoughts have been swallowing him.
Suddenly, he remembered Denz's advice about magic.
'I upped my desire until I got used to it. It's not that hard if you have a clear mindset of your goals.'
Nile returned back to reality. He stopped at the center of the field. The Astrochist including Faye also stopped what they're doing to see Nile's demonstration. Everyone is waiting for him to do something. On the other hand, Nile calmed himself down, he inhaled and then exhaled in a repetitive manner. His nerves are now stable.
'Remember your desire, what's your purpose. Why do you want power? Is it to save anyone? Is it to become popular? No, that's wrong...'
Nile opened his Grimoire and started doing a stance. Everyone is watching him intently. He closed his eyes while thinking.
'My true desire is... to make this world peaceful.'
After he set his desire, he opened his eyes. He turned his back to everyone. They've noticed something different.
Nile's left eye was once again tinted with light blue while glowing. Faye noticed the amount of mana accumulating in the center of the field.
Meanwhile, on the other yards.
'That magic... Where is it coming from?" Lars thought.
On the rooftop, Luong can be seen standing near the edge. He's been watching the whole evaluation test from the top while grading everyone. He smirked as he felt something.
"Show me what you got, Linda's offspring." He stated.
Everyone from the 4th yard was amazed by Nile's accumulation of mana. He opened the grimoire until he reached page 42. Pages 25 up to 50 are actually where the advanced spells can be found in the grimoire. Pages 2 up to 24 are where the basic instruction and spells can be found. Nile didn't hesitate to do the basic spells, he continued to read the instruction on page 42.
And then...
"Water Magic skill: Whirpool" Using his wand, he nonchalantly tilted its handle. After doing that, a medium sized glowing whirlpool appeared on the ground. The shape of the Whirlpool is just like the black hole he has seen on his nightmare. The whirlpool's purpose is to suck in different kinds of things, be it any person, objects, and more.
The air circulated throughout the entire field. Everyone is maintaining their position while some of them are grasping each other. Denz was amazed by Nile's performance.
"Amazing..." He murmured while sitting on the bench without any problem. Faye's jaw was dropped as soon as she saw Nile's casting an advanced spell right in front of her. The breeze was getting sucked in in the middle of the field and the leaves were swarming around the area.
After a few minutes, Nile suddenly stopped. He fell down on his knees and dropped both of his wand and grimoire. The whirlpool effect has dissipated and the whole field has returned back to its normal state. Everyone was amazed yet scared at the same time. Some of them still have their jaw dropped.
Denz stood up when he noticed that Nile dropped down, he got shocked.
"Nile!" He exclaimed.
Faye also noticed this.
"Everyone, go back to the section room, we're done for today. Wait for me there." She started giving orders and telling everyone to return back to the section room. After that, she quickly ran to approach Nile. She noticed a lot of things from Nile's body.
First, his veins are popping out from his head up to his arms. The second problem is, he was drained. Faye cannot feel any leftovers of Mana from his body making him exhausted.
Denz didn't listen to the order, he approached Faye with a worried look.
"Ma'am! What happened?" He asked while panting.
"Oh Denz, good thing you're here. Help me lift Nile and bring him to the infirmary. He's been badly hurt." She said.
"What's the cause?" Denz asked.
"Overdrive fatigue." Denz gasped as he heard it.
"Well, don't worry. It's not that serious, the reason why this happened is because of Mana overreaction on his cells. His body is too weak for him to handle these kinds of spell, that's why the mana inside his body has started to pop out because of the overwhelming power he's accumulating. It will take a while for him to recover, probably around half a day. He just needs to rest until he recovers his mana." Faye explained the situation.
"Is that why he has it?" Denz asked her with a serious tone...
Faye startled, she stared at Denz.
"Yeah..." She responded.
"His true power is sealed within the Elemental Ring. So you've noticed it as well, huh? How did you know?" Faye closed her eyes as she smiled.
"I've known from the start. Ever since he cast the Stingray spell earlier, I've noticed that he didn't even try his best to chant it. On page 3 of the grimoire you gave us, there's an instruction on how to move your personal wand in order for it works. In Nile's case, he didn't even do the correct formula and stance to cast a spell. It almost looks like he just need to flicker the wand and the spell will activate." Denz explained his deduction.
"Well, now that you've known, I want you to keep this as a secret," Faye said.
"What, why? Are you saying that we're not going to give them the Elemental Ring in order to stop the Yama?" Denz exclaimed.
"If they found out that Nile has the Elemental Ring, this will trigger a nominated signal. The leaders will hunt him and secure him. He's a very important key in order for us to defeat King Yama. If they found out that Nile has it, they'll take measurements and might harm him. In order to avoid that, Nile has to train in this term so that he will have the advantage when he is now ready to give it. Also, if we're going to give them the information, this program we're all taking will be canceled immediately." Faye said with a serious tone.
"But are you really sure about this?" Denz asked again.
"Well, to be honest, I'm also against it. But we have no choice. The ring's power is also sealed inside Nile's elemental aptitude. If they're going to steal it from him, they won't be able to activate it. Either way, it is hopeless for them. That's why we need Nile to train harder on this advantage so he can use the power of the Ring in order to defeat him. The only problem we have is the time we need in order for him to get ready." Faye explained.
"Alright, I understand, I won't tell this to anyone." Denz nodded.
"Okay, go bring Nile on the infirmary. It is on the 2nd floor near the archives. Ask a maid to help you." Faye ordered him.
Denz carried Nile.
'It's a good thing that he is not heavy, I'm not proud of my strength.' Denz thought.
