Chapter 2 - Bribe

"Nothing" Sebastian answered

"Where do you need to go?"

"Somewhere" Sebastian said standing, now the two boys were face to face. They were quite dissimilar. Theodore stood at 5'10 and was broad whereas Sebastian stood at 5'4 and was slim, so technically Theodore was staring at the boy's chin. Theodore had ginger hair much like his dad, Sebastian was blond. That was another thing: Theodore says 'dad' where Sebastian probably says 'father'. Theodore thought about this as he tried to figure out where the other boy came from because he was certain that Sebastian wasn't from the small village with smelly fish that Theodore was from.

"You can't get anywhere, you know that right?" Theodore said crouching down, only slightly, to actually be face to face with Sebastian.

"I'll pay you" Sebastian said quickly not taking any notice that the boy in front of him was mocking him. This way the taller boy know he was desperate.

"No" Theodore laughed "I mean you can't go anywhere" he said pointing at the dent on the Harlequin.

"Well fix it so I can go" Sebastian snapped, realising that Theodore was mocking him, he noticed because there was a smirk on the other boy's face.

"I don't have to fix anything"

"Like I said I will pay you"

Theodore took this into consideration, if his wealth was anything like his accent then Sebastian was rich. Possibly richer than the entire village combined.

"I will pay you 2 platinum"said the shorter boy holding his hand out to be shaken.

With that kind of money Theodore and his dad wouldn't have to work at the market anymore. With that kind of money Theodore could buy new tools to fix the Harlequin. He could travel and see many things. He could see the depths where the myth of the beautiful mermaids live or the kraken that eats the ships. Theodore could travel only to stop at the end of the world.

Sebastian clicked his fingers, snapping Theodore from his trance. "Are you listening to me?"

"Sorry."

Sebastian took a sack of coins from his coat pocket and casually emptied them on the floor. Theodore counted them and they were all there. All 2 coins.

Then Theodore fell.
