"Yes. You are dead." A figure made out of light explain (again) to the glowing ball of light from across his workbench. The ball vigorously trembled at the words but doesn't respond.
"You are not here for the judgement of your soul. You are here because of a mistake my lower rank employees made." The being said in an serious tone. Looking and waiting for a response from the ball of light.
"A mistake? My death was? Those people work for you?" The ball of light spoke in a speechless tone. His murder was a mistake, and the murders work for this being here.
"They were following protocol up until your termination. They didn't ask for clearance on whether your existence would be important or not. Thus bringing your world even closer to its end."
The being once again spoke this time setting an intense stare at the ball of life. His lips tightening into a straight line. Frustration very prevalent on his face.
"Important, sir? The worlds end?" The ball shivered at the meaning behind those words. Him important? Since when! He's nothing but a dum teenager that can't even drive a car yet let allow be involved in something world changing!
"Sir, not to doubt you all-knowing powers, but my name is Micheal Dalton. Was there maybe a mishaps or something?" Micheal, the ball of light, said. Not truly believing he can amount to much of anything, really.
"You mistake me. It isn't you that amounts to anything world changing it's your actions that were supposed too." The being said with a little amusement flickering at his tone but his expression was still stiff and serious.
"You see me and my team has taken an extensive amount of time to restart your world over and over to improve it and try to make it last longer. That was until we came across a probability that could not only extend the worlds end but even evolve it.
In this probability a young teenager Mets a young man at the subway station, and the teenage talked to the man and was able to ignite hope in the man. The man was going to kill himself at the subway station, but instead he goes on to invent a solution to cancer. Raising survivability up to 80% for cancer patients.
One of his patients goes on to create a space programs involving all world countries and United all of they together to create a new empire within space created, the X-Galactic." The being rattled off more and more about this 'probability', and how this could would have changed the world for the better instead of ending at World War 3, thirty years later.
"If I was supposed to met this man then I was I killed by your employees?" Micheal asked stunned and overwhelmed by this information brought to him by this being.
"They are our employees indeed, but they aren't on the inside of our company. We hire them for cleanup jobs, they go to worlds we assign and take care of certain individuals that we need gone. We rarely use them, and they have been terminated after this incident."
So there like hitmen that work for god. Micheal couldn't help, but internal sigh at this.
Instead of saving some guy that becomes a saint he was murder by hitmen cause of a coincidence. Does that mean that his world is going to restart? Will he restart as well?
"Because we have invested so much in this project it has been chosen to be restarted, but I have brought you here to offer you a deal. Since it was still our mistake that you had died. Reincarnate with three abilities of your choosing or be place in a world desire box, your surrounds would become whatever you wish, a 'true' heaven if you will." The being said.
Waiting once again for a response from Micheal. He though about it, mulled over it in his mind. The benefits of this vs. the negatives.
If he choose the wishes one then he can live again have parents again, make more friends, and freedom. The negatives is that this would be a life, and life is hard. People die, betrayal is a thing, and not everything will have a happy ending.
On the other hand, the heaven, it sounds so good. Whatever He wants at the tips of my fingers, and never be unsatisfied. The only negative is that it's fake, unreal.
'I think it's would be amazing short term, but long term would be hell.'
"I want to reincarnate!" Micheal said with excitement and pride. Feeling proud at his decision to choose the harder option then to the easier one.
The being knew his thought and rolled his eyes at him internally. Making sure to keep his expression serious.
"Would you like to know about the world you will reincarnate into?" The being said. Making sure that Micheal thinks before plunging into something and choosing useless abilities.
Despite Micheal being human the being wanted to help him. It was his call for those guys to come and take care of a problem. Resulting all of his and his teams work to go down the drain in just a few short seconds. He needed to do something to make up for it.
"Yes please." Micheal said. His excitement calming down to a more manageable and docile manner.
"This world, is want your world would call a cultivation world. It has three realms in it the divine realm, where the most power of this world resides. It has three ranks emperor, superior, and supreme.
The immortal realm, has weak and strong individuals. They have 6 ranks, Energy refinement, rebirth, inborn, golden core, nascent, and king. All ranks in these realms are divided into 12 levels.
The mortal realm, doesn't have cultivation like the other realms but both the immortal and mortal realms are connected. Traveling between them is very easy and doesn't require any tribulations. They trade frequently."
After the being finished speaking. Micheal's previous excitement came back ten times bigger then before. Cultivation was his favorite genre.
He has already made a list(mentally) on what abilities he would like to have in this type of world when he was still alive. The list having over hundreds things.
His excitement toke a turn when he heard the word tribulations. He looked at the being and asked for an estimate of survivability for every tribulation and the answer he got cause him to grimace. The tribulations was all heavenly lightening that needed to be passed for every rank.
"Can one of my abilities be to absorb any type of lightening?" Micheal asked hesitant for the answer. The being nodded his head but proceeded to ask, "what do you wish for it to be converted into when absorbed?"
Once again regaining his excitement to said quickly and without thinking, "Any energy is fine."
Forgetting that there are three types of energy's out there one being Qi for body refiners, essence for beast cultivators, and de for demonic cultivators.
He once again when silent and started considering other things. Now that he doesn't have to worry about dying to tribulation, then he can focus of other things. A thought then came to him.
"Can good luck be an ability too?" The being smiled a bit breaking the serious expression but only for a second, "yes." Micheal quickly asked for that ability as well.
'Now for the last ability' He thought. Going over in his head what could be essential and what could be helpful. His mind resorted back to all the novels he read and one thing had stuck out to him, 'revenge'. It's prevalent in this genre and very common.
A shiver went down his spine as he begins thinking of all the negativity about this type of dog eats dog world. The backstabbing and the live threatening competitions, something he wants no part of, but knew that it's a common theme.
"I want a body that would be immune to all poisons and negative side effects to anything toxic." Micheal said after much consideration. The being nodded and sent Micheals soul into static mode. Calling one of his employees to hold on to it so he can get to work.
