Time: "the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and the future regarded as a whole." This is the definition of time as we know it.
Now many of us may see time as an invisible, intangible force that guides us through our lives. Or, we me say see time as an obstacle that has every intention of getting in our way to not let us make those oh so important deadlines. In fact, we can blame or thank time for almost anything that goes right or wrong in our lives. This invisible force, whether sparing a few minutes extra for you to not be late on your first date, or sending the hour that you have
been given for a history test, running away from you, so that all you are left with, are a few worthless seconds, has been with us since we were born. Never seen, but always present.
There are of course, the rare, rare few among us humans, that can see and control time (Marvel characters not included). These humans are called "Timekeepers." Some of them, if not all, can stop, twist, give and take time from others. The rarest among these special humans, are called "time-weavers."
Time-weavers have the uncanny, yet extraordinary gift to see, travel, and recreate the time-strands that connect each person to the past, present, and or the future. As wonderful as this might seem to ordinary people, it usually means imminent death for time-weavers... which is probably why they were once thought to be extinct. You see, since the beginning of time, time-weavers we're often captured and enslaved by greedy people. Well, how else did you think that presidents can so easily back track on foolish subjects?
Once a time-weaver is forced to recreate a person's time-strand too many times, they begin to fade, which is a fancy way of saying die.
This is the story of a young time-weaver, who was willing to sacrifice his life to save people who he did not actually know. This is the story of a hero who did not know who or what he was until it was too late. This is Devian's story.
