Chapter 28 - Chapter 27

I felt like I am floating in a water. Sometimes it felt like I'm drowning and I can't breath then after a moment, I felt like I am barely conscious to know if I am still breathing or not.

I do not know if I am floating for hours, days or even months. All I know that it felt like I am here for so long.

Then things became bright, shiny. The coldness of the water turned warm. It felt good. It sucked me into the bottom. Then there's only darkness.

I opened my eyes. The first thing I noticed was the white ceiling and a bulb at the center of it.

I can't feel my body due to exhaustion. Did I sleep for a year? Because it felt like it.

"You're awake." someone said. I looked at where the sound came from and I saw papa.

"Pa—" I tried to talk but everytime I did it hurt.

"Here." said papa. He brought a glass of water with straw closer to my mouth. I sipped on it until the the dryness of my mouth was gone.

When I felt that I drank enough, I moved my mouth away from the straw indicating that I don't want it anymore.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You disobeyed me, that's what happened."

"I..." I can't form a good explanation. I just want to have fun.

I pursed my lips and didn't say anything. My father saw that I am not willing to talk and he sighed, a disappointed sigh. My brows furrowed at that. I didn't mean to. I only wanted to enjoy doing normal things that I didn't get to do when I was a child and even now, I still have limitations and rules to follow if I wanted to go outside. If I didn't made a deal with my papa, I think that I will spend the rest of my life inside our house like a prisoner until I died.

"You are in a hospital. If Norvyn didn't called me, I wouldn't know that my son was dying because he disobeyed my rules that he knew was there for him to be protected and lived."

He looked at me. There's a sorrow in his eyes. "You could've die."

"I-i'm sorry papa." I could feel my tears prickling my eyes. "I didn't mean to. I just—I didn't know how it happened. I panic and I—"

"Calm down yourself." He held my hand and I tried to relax.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out.

"I'm okay now." I said, wiping my yet to fall tears.

He sighed in relief. "Thanks the gods because it's only a mild attack because if not... I don't know what I am going to do."

I looked down. I don't want to meet his eyes.

His phone rang and he looked at it. He sat up and fixed his rumpled suit. "I need to go now. Norvyn will be here in a minute. He will assist you while I'm gone. You will not go to school— don't interrupt me, you will not go to school until you recovered or if I say so. You are to stay in the house after the doctor gave a go signal."

He walked towards the door but before he went outside he looked at me for the last time. "Please, don't defy me. I just want you to lived."

"But I want to be happy! Do I even have a choice in my life?" The tears that had been wiped off are now falling like a river. I am such a crybaby but I can't help it. The frustration, sadness, anger; all the negative emotion that had been made because of the situation made my head hurt.

"It's for your own good." He said with a sad smile. He closed the door, leaving me in a sobbing mess.

I put my hands on my face, muffling the sound of my crying.

Pull yourself together Cooper. You don't want to make your heart hurt again do you? Just breathe. Breathe.

I heard the door opened. I don't know who is it because I need to focus on my breathing.

"Young master are you okay?" From the voice and the way he addresses me, I can tell that it's Norvyn.

I removed my hands from my face and looked at him. "It hurts Norvyn."

His eyes widen as his expression turned alarmed. "Where does it hurt young master? Is it your chest?"

I shooked my head. "Papa is angry with me."

His face turned into recognition and mouthed an 'oh' and he sat on the chair beside me.

"Master is not angry with you, he is just worried."

"Did you saw his face?! He looked like I did something worst than someone who betrayed his company and sold their plans to their enemies!"

"That is... rather specific young master."

"It's not the point! Its—its... he hates me."

"Oh no young master, it's the opposite. He loves you. He wouldn't be livid when he knows you are in danger if he didn't." Norvyn explained.

"But, it was an accident. Riri and I didn't mean it to happened." I frowned. "Speaking of Riri, where is she? Is she okay?"

"Kristine was sent to her home after sending you to the hospital. She insisted to stay but master requested her to go home. A little shaken but she's okay."

I gave a small nod.

"Is Ari okay? Where is he? He must had been panicked because I didn't answered his call."

"Well—" Norvyn was interrupted when Ari entered the room. He stared at me for a second then continued to walk towards the bedside table to put down a blue duffle bag.

"Perhaps Adrian shall be the one you asks your questions." Norvyn suggested.

He sat up, "I am going to prepare your dinner. Wouldn't want our young master to starve, do we?"

He glanced at Adrian and Ari looked at him. I think they just have a silent conversation in front of me.

Norvyn exited and Ari started to open the bag.

Things had been for a moment until I decided to break it. "Hi."

He glanced at me then looked away, continuing to emptied the bag that was full of my clothes resulting in a rather awkward atmosphere... for me at least.

Urgh! I can't take this anymore! Adrian, please talk to me!
