Chapter 30 - Chapter 29

It was a dreamless night. It felt like I just closed my eyes and opened it for a minute, it was morning or I think it was morning. I can't tell I'm inside a hospital and there is no window to see if the sun rose. Add my head that felt heavy and my eyes hurt because the light is on and it stung, it was a total confusion. This is the time that I had an urge to throw something to that bulb to turn it off or just cover my head with a pillow so I will see nor hear anyone or anything even if there is none.

I want to sleep forever.

Of course there's someone who would disturb the silence. Norvyn. I don't like him sometimes.

He woke me up so I can eat breakfast (now we know that it IS morning). I am not in the mood to eat but he insist so I agreed, albeit reluctantly.

It was nice.Pancakes are delicious and my chocolate milk made me felt alive. I'm not as grumpy as earlier.Adrian was not here. He went to school.

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

Yeah I'm not jealous at all. Just kidding. Of course I am! He's there with Riri and Cal. Probably talking and having fun while I'm here lying in a bed, bored.If doing an assignments five times is the exchange for me to get out of here, I will do it. But it's a different discussion if it's ten times a day. Lying in a bed and being bored will feels like a paradise.

I can't go to school yet because the doctors still need to check me up but tomorrow I can go back to school... if papa decided that he wants me to go, which is ridiculous and it's not okay.

I am not a bird that he can cage and I am an adult! I'm eighteen, technically not a teen. I can decide for myself.

Sigh... Now what?

This is so boring! No phone, no T.V., no anything that can make this boredness go away.

If there is no other option... I look at the red button beside me. Should I?  No... But he said that I can push it if I need something and now I need something.

After mulling things over, I decided to pushed it. There was a sound of buzz and a few seconds later, Norvyn is here.

"What do you need young master?"

"I'm bored."

"...And what shall I bring for your enjoyment?"

"Play with me Norvyn, please?" Dragging the please and using my ultimate weapon: Puppy eyes.

He looks at me and sighs, "What do you want to do young master?"

Yes it worked!... But what to do? I didn't think of that.

"Maybe just talk to me. I feel lonely."

His expression softened. He smiled fondly of me. "Of course young master. What do you want to talk about?"

And then we talked for hours. I just randomly talk about anything and he would put in his thoughts about it. Sometimes we talked about the memories when I was a child and he would input some silly things that I did.

"Oh! Do you remember about my eighth birthday when we have a cake war where we battled who will put more frosting on each other faces. It was really fun!"

"Yes, I remember. I remember that there was a little birthday boy who decided to put frosting on his face because it's cool." He teased.

"It's really cool though, my face felt like they came from the top of the mountain of Mount Sinai."

I laughed at the memories. Those were fun.

"But then papa came and scold me for running and said that that will be the last time I would do that." I frowned at that.

Norvyn stared at my face and sighed. "Let me get your lunch. Maybe your hungry, all that talking would make you hungry. What do you want to eat?" He asked me.

Changing the topic huh? I appreciate it.

"Hmmm, I want to eat meatball and apple juice!"

He nodded. "I will be back." He stood up and left.

And now, I need to wait.

~~~
After I ate my lunch, the doctor came to check me up.
"Good afternoon Mr. Myers, what are you feeling?"
"I'm okay just tired... and bored."
The doctor chuckled lightly. "Don't worry, after this check-up you can go home."
"Really? Yes!" I exclaimed.
I don't know what those things are. He put something on my chest and sometimes he told me to breathe in.
"You need to rest and eat healthy foods." The doctor said.
"But can I still eat some junk foods?" I asked. Please say yes. Please say yes. Please say yes.
"You can still eat junk foods but you have to eat it moderately. You can also do some light exercise like walking or jogging. It will help your heart to get stronger."
"So... I can run?"
"Yes you can but it is not advisable. If you feel the symptoms of having a heart attack, you need to stop."
"Okay doc, I understand."
"Good. I will leave you now, I have more patients to check to." He smiled at me and nodded at Norvyn.
When he exited the room, I glanced at Norvyn. "Did you hear that Norvyn? I can eat junk foods, I can now eat pizza!"
"In moderation." Norvyn reminded.
"We should celebrate! Let's order pizza and fries and burgers and—"
"Only one." Norvyn said. Aww, but I want all  of it.
I pouted at him. I was about to complain when the door slided open.  Did the doctor forget something?
Two person came out. Gasp!  It's Riri and Ari!
"Riri! Ari!"
Riri smiled and run towards me.
"Cooper!"  she hugged me tight. "I was so worried! Are you okay? Does it still hurt?"
"Yes and no."
Ari just walk and stand beside Riri. "She insisted to came here and I have no choice but to agreed."
Riri released me. "We came here right after the school ended." Now that I look at them closely, Riri ans Ari still have their uniform on.
"Oh! We also have food here. Calvin said that when visiting a patient, you have to have something to bring. Speaking of Calvin, where's that guy? He's here with us when we're going to your room?"
I looked around. Nope. No Cal was found.
Riri looked irritated. "Really? After all the these months, he still shy with us? Hey Calvin get your butt here!"
Pfft. Butt.
There's an exasperated sigh coming behind that wall and I'm pretty sure it's Cal. I know Cal's sigh. And he always sigh.
Cal entered the room looking bored. Surprisingly he didn't have his earphones. He stand behind the two and didn't talk.
He's here... Now what?
Before the atmosphere become awkward, Riri talks. "Why are you not answering my calls huh? Even text would've been better."
I grimaced at that. "I don't—I can't exactly contact you yesterday. I don't have my phone here." I explained.
"If your phone's not here, where is it?" Riri asked.
"Ummm, it's with papa."
She gaped. "Oh...oh."
...Then there's awkward silence.
