Poke. poke
"He's not waking up..." Sebastion said, poking the white-haired assassin with a stick.
"He's out cold..." He added.
"Ronnie did a good job knocking him out..." Vladimir commented.
"I don't think it was Ronnie, Vlad..." Kayako said.
"What makes you think that?" Vladimir asked.
"That bruise on his chest is rather small, meaning he must've been punched in the liver," Sebastion said.
"Are Ronnie's hand that small?" Kayako asked her husband, sarcastically.
"It's the size of a peach," Sebastion added.
"If Ronnie didn't knock him out, then who did?" Vladimir asked.
"Luna's hands were very small..." Kayako noted.
"Who?" Vladimir was confused.
"The girl Ronnie bit," Kayako explained.
"Oh, that girl. Wait... She did that? Wow..." He exclaimed, impressed.
"If you see her in person, she's shorter than you think," Sebastion said. (Shouldn't stop talking about how small Luna is and focus on the assassin?)
Luna soon teleported back into her room, walking downstairs, where dad was on the sofa, reading.
"Hey, dad," Luna called out. Startled, Gerhardt almost dropped his book.
"He-hey Shatzen, how was the study session?" He asked, embarrassed.
"Crazy," Luna said, sitting next to him.
"What happened?" Gerhardt sneakily put his book into his interdimensional storage.
"Ok... Don't freak out but... The lights went out, so Ronnie said he was going to light a few candles. He was taking a while so I went to check on him and there was this assassin, who stabbed Ronnie," Luna explained.
"Wait... What happened next? Did you get hurt?" Gerhardt asked, concerned.
"No, I knocked him out," Luna assured. He sighed in relief
"After I knocked the guy out, I bandaged Ronnie's stab wound. Then I got to meet his mom, she was creepy; and his brother, who's really cool," Luna added.
"Wow, that's pretty intense," Gerhardt said, not sure what to say. It's not every day an assassin stabs someone.
"Dad, What were you reading?" Luna asked. Gerhardt's face turned as red as a tomato.
"N-n-nothing!" he sputtered. (he was reading a BDSM book)
"I have a nightshift today at the hospital, do you want to come?" Gerhardt asked.
"Of course," Luna answered.
"Let's get going then," Gerhardt put on his red tie before leaving.
Once Gerhardt and Luna arrived at the hospital, someone had been rushed into the ER. Nothing new, just another day in the Emergency Room!
"Luna, dearie! Could you help me out?" One of the ER nurses asked.
"Of course, what is it?" She asked.
"Could you go monitor the patient in room 049? I have to see another patient," She told Luna
"Keep a close eye on him. Make sure he doesn't hurt himself, he's a suicidal patient" The nurse explained.
"Understood!" Luna nodded.
"Thank you, dear. You're such a sweet girl," The nurse smiled. Luna went ahead and walked to room 049, sliding the door open, pushing the curtains aside.
"Shadow...?" Luna muttered, sliding the door close. She pulled the curtains over then walked over to the bed. It was Shadow, he was sound asleep; most likely passed out from blood loss since he was getting a blood transfusion. Luna decided to sit on the sofa across the hospital room and wait to see if Shadow wakes up before she has to leave.
Shadow woke up in a cold, unfamiliar room. It was pure white, except for some of the furniture. There was a small cream-colored loveseat by a massive window with heather curtains hanging from it. On that sofa, was Luna, who stared out the window. Shadow tried opening his eyes, his room lights were dim but it still hurt a little. He looked around the room, his senses slowly coming back. Shadow tried lifting his right hand, which was connected to the IV, but it was shaking so he put it down.
"Shadow..." Luna softly called out, noticing Shadow was awake. He groaned, turning his head to face her.
"Luna..." Shadow muttered, feeling sluggish from blood loss and the painkillers they gave him.
"D-Do you feel any better?" She asked, walking closer to his bed. No, Shadow did not feel any better; his whole body is numb and the beeping from all the medical equipment is annoying.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, rudely.
"I heard you were at the hospital. I was worried so I thought I'd check up on you," Luna answered.
"Worried... Doshite...? Why the hell are you worried about someone like me?!" He scoffed, his face darkened.
"Because... I care about you..." Luna answered. Shadow turned his head so he wasn't facing Luna.
"You... care about... me?" Luna shouldn't worry or care about a freak like Shadow.
"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?" Luna's voice showed kindness, something that Shadow doesn't deserve either.
"No one cares about a freak..." He tightened his left hand, making a fist.
"No... Shadow, you're not a-"
"Urasai!" He interrupted. Luna stepped back a little, startled.
"I'm a freak, a psychological mess, a monster. I don't deserve love," Shadow cried.
"I'm a monster, and that's all I'll ever be..." He whispered. Shadow slowly sits up, moving to the edge of the bed.
"Shadow, you shouldn't move so suddenly," Luna told him, but Shadow ignored her
"I can't be normal... I can never be someone worthy of love, or kindness..." He said, emotionless.
"You shouldn't bother with me... you shouldn't care about me! You... you're so many things, nice, sweet... you care about everyone..." Shadow sighed, looking down. Tears slowly fell from his eyes.
"Shadow... you really think that?" Luna sighed.
"I don't think you're a monster or a freak. I don't care who you are, I care about you Shadow; that will never change..." She assured. Shadow looked up at Luna. Her eyes showed emotions Shadow believed he didn't deserve. Concern, care, kindness, love. He smiled a little, scoffing.
"Hmph... I don't understand you... You're different from the other girls, is that why...?" Shadow gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer, like he wanted to hug her.
"Stay that way. Don't change yourself because someone doesn't like you the way you are," Shadow demanded, referencing Sasha. Luna stared into Shadow's dull blood-red eyes. She could see the sadness, and pain that he tried hiding. Luna gently hugged him, taking Shadow by surprise. He tensed up, then melted into Luna's warm touch, hugging her back, tightly. Tears began to form in Shadow's eyes; he tried not to cry but Shadow was just so touched-starved, he didn't want to let go. Eventually, he did, but Luna sat next to him on the hospital bed. Shadow still held onto her wrist, so he was still touching her.
"Does anything hurt?" Luna asked, staring at Shadow's bandaged wrist. It was obvious that Shadow was cutting himself, so it probably stings or burns.
"Iie..." he replied.
"Are you sure? If you're in pain I can tell the nurse," Luna said, wanting to make sure.
"I'm fine, my entire body is just numb," Shadow answered.
"Probably from all the painkillers," Luna quietly commented.
"Are you thirsty?" She asked, noticing Shadow's voice was dry.
"... A little..." He said, knowing he can't lie to Luna. There was already a cup of water on the nightstand so Luna didn't have to move.
As usual, Luna is talking to her friends. Nothing out of the ordinary, except everyone is staring at her, whispering to each other. When Luna went to open her locker, a bunch of notes fell out. She picked up a few, reading them.
"Slut. Whore. Bitch. hooker..." Luna listed. She stopped reading and threw them away. She was already getting a few notes calling her names, but not this many.
"Look at her, acting all innocent," One girl sneered.
"Why is she so surprised? That's what she gets for whoring around," Another girl replied.
"First she steals Sasha's boyfriend, then she sleeps with another guy." Luna tried to ignore them but couldn't. Embarrassed, she tries going to the bathroom to hide but ran into someone.
"I-i'm sorry I-I didn't mean to-" Luna frantically stuttered.
"It's fine, Luna," A familiar voice said. Luna looked up and saw Mr. Rivaile
"M-Mr. Rivaile..." Luna mumbled.
"Come with me," He grabbed Luna's hand, leading her to his classroom.
"I heard about the Rumors. Don't worry, I don't believe them," He told Luna, who sighed in relief.
"Knowing Sasha this is most likely some desperate attempt to get back with Ronnie while humiliating you," He added.
"You can here anytime you need a break," Adrian smiled.
"Thanks, Mr. Rivaile," Luna said, relieved.
Ronnie was walking around the halls until he saw Sasha walking towards him.
"Ronnie!" She excitedly called out. Ronnie sighed in annoyance.
"What the hell do you want?" He glared at her.
"You should give up on Luna. She's not worth the trouble,"
"This, again? I'm not getting back with you," Ronnie scowled at her.
"But Ronnie, you don't understand! She's a slut," She stated.
"Luna's not a mirror, Sasha," He grumbled, irritated.
"It's true! Haven't you heard? She slept with another guy!" Sasha lied.
"What? I don't believe, that doesn't sound like her," Ronnie was shocked by what Sasha said.
"She did Ronnie! She and Shadow slept together!" She desperately tried to convince him.
"Wait... What the hell are you saying? Why should I believe you?" Ronnie asked in disbelief.
"Because I saw her yesterday, with Shadow!" Sasha told him. Ronnie knew it couldn't be true, but he had his doubts. Luna still has a crush on the freak, so it's possible.
"Tch, I'll be the judge of that," Ronnie scoffed, turning around and walking away. Sasha smirked to herself. She hoped that this would get Ronnie to stop liking Luna.
Ronnie went to look for Luna, wanting to talk to her about the rumors. He found her outside, most likely hiding from everyone.
"Oi, Luna," He called out walking over to her.
"Ronnie," Luna looked at him.
"What's up?" She asked. Ronnie tensed up.
"Look... About the rumors," He inhaled, nervous.
"Did you have sex with Shadow?" He blurted out.
"Wh-what? No! Why would you think that?" Luna asked, shocked. Yes, she was with Shadow at the hospital, but she was worried about him.
"Sasha told me," Ronnie explained.
"And you believed her?" She felt betrayed that Ronnie would believe that, considering his history with Sasha's drama.
"No... Not really I just... I had my doubts, okay?" Ronnie reassured, humiliated that he had believed Sasha, even for a second.
"Ronnie..." Luna sighed in disappointment.
"I'm still a virgin and..." Luna stopped herself from talking, realizing she was about to reveal one of her secrets.
"And what?" He asked, curious.
"Just forget about that part!" Luna looked away, embarrassed.
"What were you going to say?" Ronnie tried pressing her so she would tell her secret.
"It's not important," Luna insisted, frustrated.
"If it's not important then why won't you tell me?" He urged her.
"Because I... I'm scared of what people would think," Luna admitted, disheartened.
"Luna, I'm not gonna judge, okay?" Ronnie promised her. He gently grabbed her hand.
"Ronnie... I'm... I'm a..."
