Chapter 26 - Mystery girl and Luna's Primo

While at school, Kaydence and Luna ran into each other while walking the crowded school hall.

"S-sorry, I didn't see you," Luna panicked, thinking Kaydence would bully her.

"It's okay. Don't worry. I'm not like Sasha," She reassured.

"Sorry about her; she's a little crazy," Kaydence whispered into Luna's ear. I'm pretty sure Luna knows that, but hey, it never hurts to clarify.

"I'm Kaydence. Kaydence, Brodeur," She smiled.

"Y-you're french?" Luna stuttered.

"You can tell?" She looked surprised.

"Y-your last name," Luna said.

"Wow. I'm impressed," Kaydence smiled. Not everyone can tell she's french by her last name. They talked for a while. Luna learned a lot about Kaydence.

"My mother and I live with Aunt Célestine; she's the headmaster of this school, she's more focused on the high school," She explained.

"You remind of one of her students," Kaydence mentioned.

"Me?" Luna blurted out.

"Yes. This student never talked much and was always in different places, The courtyard, the gym. You would see her in the halls, but she was never in class, and she sat alone in the cafeteria. One day, she disappeared. My aunt hasn't seen her since," She explained.

"Creepy... sounds like a ghost..." Luna commented.

"Weird thing is, no one knew who she was. Some people think she was a ghost..."

"But I know she was a real student there! I swear," Kaydence added.

That Conversation was stuck in Luna's head. She couldn't stop thinking about that girl. Is she real? Is she a ghost? She wanted to know. Later, when Luna was home. Banjo demanded that she take him for a walk. She slipped on her black checkerboard slide on vans, put Banjo's vest on, and went outside. As per usual, Banjo was dragging Luna to where he wanted. They eventually ended up at a train station. It was empty, creeping out Luna.

"Why'd you take me here, Banjo?" Luna asked, looking around. Banjo peed on another pole then started dragging Luna somewhere.

"H-hey!" she tried pulling him back, but Banjo was stronger. Eventually, Banjo stopped and started sniffing around. Now they were at the waiting station. Luna noticed someone was sitting on the bench. It was a girl with artic blue hair: she was wearing a black blazer and skirt, looked like the High school Uniform for Twilight Academy. She had headphones on, so she probably couldn't hear the two.

"Who is that?" Luna whispered to herself. She didn't want to get closer as she might be a ghost or murderer. Banjo, on the other hand, had a different idea. He wanted to meet this stranger, knowing she might pet him and call him pretty. Banjo walked over, once again dragging Luna with him.

"Banjo, N-no!" Luna said, trying to pull back her big Alaskan Malamute but failed. They got closer to the mysterious girl. Banjo sat in front of her and started panting. The girl looked up and saw a wolf-looking dog staring at her. She took her headphones off, putting them around her neck.

"Woof!" Banjo barked. She smiled and reached a hand towards Banjo, and he began sniffing her. Luna had no idea what to say or do. The girl was smiling and rubbing Banjo's fur.

"Your dog's cute," She softly said, stroking Banjo's ear.

"Uh... um... Th-thanks..." Luna replied, a bit scared. She has never seen this girl before.

"What's his name," She asked.

"It's Banjo..." Luna answered.

"Cute... He's so fluffy," She smiled.

"um... W-who are you...?" Luna asked.

"... Yuki..."

(Means snow in Japanese,) Luna thought. She noticed that the girl was wearing layers of clothing in the tropics. It can get hot over here.

"Aren't you hot?"

"No, not really... I go here sometimes because it's hot," Yuki explained. That confused Luna. People do come and visit because it's hot, but they don't wear layers of clothing like this girl, who's wearing a hooded sweater with a Blazer over it.

"I should go; it's getting late," Yuki stood up, putting on mittens.

"Why are you wearing all that?" Luna asked.

"where I live, it's cold and snowy," Yuki told her. She grabbed her dark grey backpack and put it on.

"It was nice seeing you..."

"L-Luna," she said.

"Right... It was nice seeing you, Luna, and Banjo," She waved goodbye before walking away. Luna waved back. She looked down at Her Alaskan Malamute then looked back to where Yuki was.

"S-she's gone..." Yuki had suddenly disappeared. Luna thought that Maybe the girl was a ghost. Maybe Yuki was connected to the mystery girl Kaydence was talking about.

Luna turned around and headed home, Banjo taking the lead, of course.

"That was weird..." Luna said to herself. She played some music to try to clear her mind. After about 10 minutes, Luna is close to home, but Banjo wants to stop by Toni's place. Who is that? Toni is one of Luna's cousins who lives nearby. He has messy brown hair, green eyes, and tanned skin, which he got from being outside a lot. Banjo loves Toni because whenever he stops by, Toni gives him treats.

"LUNITA, VEN AQUI," He shouted. Banjo rushed over to Toni's house. Luna almost fell but kept her balance.

"Hi, Banjo," Tonie giggled, rubbing Banjo's fur.

"How have you been, Lunita?" He asked his cousin.

"I'm fine, just a little spooked right now," Luna exclaimed.

"Hm? Por que?" Toni asked, concerned. Luna remembered that Toni knows everyone in town, so she decided to ask.

"Do you know a girl named Yuki?"

"Hm? Lo Siento, I don't know anyone named Yuki; why do you ask?" Toni gave Banjo another dog biscuit.

"I ran into this girl at the train station. She was wearing the High school Uniform for Twilight Academy,"

"That's very weird. The station is closed today because it's the Mayor's birthday..." He explained. It's the Mayor's birthday today, so most government buildings are closed, so is transportation.

"I don't think she was waiting for a train because she walked away then disappeared."

"What did she look like? Maybe the neighbors know someone,"

"She had icy blue hair, grayish-blue eyes, and pale skin. She was also a sweater and blazer," She described her appearance.

"In hot weather like this? It's 80 degrees outside," Toni exclaimed, shocked.

"I'll talk to neighbors and see if they know anything. Are you sure it wasn't a ghost?"

"Not really, she wasn't transparent. Then again, I can't be so sure," Luna shrugged.

"Oh, Before I forget..." Toni ran into his house and ran back outside.

"Here," Toni handed her a pack of coconut wafers. Luna loves those wafers; her favorite flavor is mango and coconut.

"Jjeoreo!" Luna exclaimed.

"And something for you mom," He gave Luna a packet of dried ghost peppers.

"I know she likes her hot peppers," He smiled. Blaze loves spicy foods. She even dares to say that Salsa verde isn't spicy enough, but hey. Blaze's ancestors were dragon dancers. A tribe of Taino Indians who could breathe and control fire. They were nicknamed the Pheonix tribe as it was near impossible for them to get burnt, and they used fire for their injuries. They had to eat a lot of hot peppers to keep their firepower strong. And like Blaze and Luna, their hair would change into colors firey colors like red, orange, and yellow when they became stronger.

"whoa, thanks, Toni," Luna said.

"It's no problem, there was a sale at El Supermarcado, and you know me. I can't resist a good sale!" Her cousin joked.
