Chapter 7 - Shopping for Clothes

"Well when we stopped for gas you woke up and had to go to the bathroom, you sat up in the Impala, and barfed on your jacket and tank-top. We had to throw them away and get you new clothes. So I let you wear one of my shirts, and then you fell asleep for the rest of the ride here," he looked at me. The one thing that bothered me was not remembering waking up.

"Weird. I don't remember waking up."

"What do you mean? I saw your eyes open, you were talking, and you went to the bathroom at the gas station by yourself," he looked worried. I wondered what was going through his mind at this moment.

"I was probably sleepwalking or something like that."

"What is sleepwalking?" I looked at him confused.

"You don't know what sleepwalking is?" He shook his head no for an answer. "Well, Jack this happens when you are sleeping, and you have no control over your body when you're sleeping so your body does all kinds of things while you're sleeping, but you might wake up in a familiar place or places you've never been to before."

He looked at me confused and then looked at the wall for a few minutes as if he was trying to process the information I gave him.

"Oh, I get it now! So when you are sleeping you can do many things without even noticing?" I nodded my head in agreement. He gave me a smile. "Derek sometimes does this and it kind of freaked me out when I first noticed. I would tell him in the morning and he would be confused. I asked Shawn what he would be doing and he would say the same thing you said but I never understood fully because he used all kinds of words that I didn't understand and it would just confuse me a whole lot more. Thanks for clearing that up for me."

"You're welcome," I stood up and took off the heavy towel on my head, and walked to the bathroom. I looked for a hairdryer to borrow because the demons that lived up here would always say there was a hairdryer in most of the bathrooms in hotels like these. I looked under the sink where there was tissue, cleaning products, and other stuff. I found the hair dryer under the other stuff. I plugged it in and dried my hair till it was almost dry. My hair calmed and straightened out by itself. I walked out of the bathroom and sat on my messed up bed. Jack was up and fixing the bed he slept on last night. I admired that. I did the same trying not to be obnoxious. Once I was done I got my shoes on. The T.V. was still on from last night set on the same channel and volume. Silence surrounded the room with the soft murmurs coming from the T.V.

"You know there's a clothing store down the street I can take you to," he broke the unsteady silence between us. I thought about it before making my final decision.

"It's fine I don't want to be a burden to you, Shawn, and Derek," I said, not wanting to be put on the spot and them having to care for me when I could take care of myself.

"I insist," he said looking at me with his crisp blue eyes. The look he gave me was very convincing. The room got darker from the outside. I'm guessing from the clouds blocking the sunlight. The news came on from it's usual time.

"Well if it's fine with Derek, Shawn, and you," I said, almost forgetting to include him. We both turned to the T.V. for the weather forecast.

"Scattered showers in Northern Utah, and severe thunderstorms moving into the Wasatch Valley. 60% precipitation today. So make sure to wear a raincoat and to carry an umbrella. Back to you Jonas."

"Crap, I don't have a jacket to wear," I said remembering what he told me earlier.

"Don't worry I have an easier way to get there," he said walking over to me. "Can you stand up? I don't want you to fall when the bed moves from under you."

"Okay," I said as I stood up in front of him face-to-face.

"Take my hand," he held out his hand in front of mine. I was hesitant for a moment but placed mine in his. I blinked once and we were there, it was cold and rain was pouring in my view. I didn't feel anything but only a soft material against my skin. I used my abilities and saw white wings wrapped around me.

"What are you doing?" I asked, his eyes were glowing orange and he looked at me smiling.

"Keeping you safe and warm," our hands were still connected when we left the room. I smiled as we walked inside hand-in-hand.
