"Did you get knocked off!?"
I shrieked as I entered Eun Jin's bedroom.
"The fuck?"
"Yes the fuck."
She rolled her eyes at me.
"Of course not. I just feel unwell."
"Eun Jin-"
"Nothing much...just nausea and fever."
"What did you eat?"
"Rice congee. You'd left it for me."
I face palmed.
"It had prawns in it and fyi you are allergic to seafood."
"It had prawns-"
"Let's get you to a doctor."
"Yea, I'm in no mood for funerals."
My mom was probably just outside the room.
"Jin!"
She scolded.
"Sorry Mum..."
I faced mom and gave her an assuring smile.
"Take care of Stace, I'll get her to the hospital."
She gave me a side hug and nodded.
I got Jinnie dressed up and collected my bag.
"Shit!"
"What?"
"I left my van at the office."
"Let's call a cab then?"
"Hm."
We got outside the house just to find Jason leaning his back on his car.
"Get in."
He ordered.
There's no way in hell I'm getting in.
"I have my van?"
I lied.
"You don't, I heard your convo, get in."
He tried again.
"Thanks Jace."
I glared at Jinnie for being so ughhh.
"Let's go Laur."
She tucked at my sleeve.
"Fine."
I said through gritted teeth.
"You might not be my wife yet, Laur but you are still the mother of our child. It's my job to take care of you."
I kept silent. He was a liar. He had always been one.
I was more concerned about Eun Jin who had now laid her head on my shoulder. Her warm breath blew away my bangs. She looked so fragile and that's what made me worried.
Eun Jin was anything but fragile.
We got to the hospital in not more than 15 minutes.
I got Jin admitted in one of the wards. The doctor had said that she'd be just fine but would need to be monitored for a couple of days just in case.
"She'll be alright Laur."
"Don't Laur me Mr. Jason. We aren't close enough for you to call me that."
He sighed heavily.
Your breath stinks. You stink.
"Oh come on love. The past is in the past. Get over it already."
I nodded firmly.
"I'm long since over it Jason. I do not need anyone's concern, worst yours."
"Yea, I know but your coworkers seem to be very...concerned about your wellbeing."
I faced him.
"That's none of your business."
"When will you stop being a whore, huh?"
I glared at him.
"You have me all to yourself."
"Too bad, you are useless."
Clenching his left fist he pointed his right index finger at me.
"Just because you were not enough doesn't make you question yourself, does it?"
If glaring could punch holes into him, he'd be dead by now.
"I was not enough? Pardon your shit Jason. I was more than enough. You were just too busy with other women,. And no you'd never admit it you son of a-"
"Hah! Me? You are a slut. Isn't that what we call people who throw themself at their confrere?"
"Unlike you, I keep my legs crossed. I'm a busybody Jason. Got work to do. Hope to never see you again."
I smirked.
"Marry me."
I jerked around.
"The hell?"
"Marry me."
He barked.
I let out a shaky laugh.
"Would rather marry my ass. Bye!"
Just when I was about to turn round the corner I heard a him clapping his big hands.
There stood Mr. Asshat.
"Burn."
I smirked.
"I'll drop you off home again."
"I owe you one- um two."
