Chapter 3 - Rewind

"So, you gave our secret to her?" April asked our brother, carrying a confused face.

"Care to explain, Ethan?" Amashla raised both of her eyebrows to Ethan.

"Amashla is our protector. She made it possible for me to be safe while getting rid of some guards every day..." this makes much better sense now. HELL NO! It doesn't!

"And by the way, I knew you were so depressed about your brother's death but sorry to break it to you-" Amashla said in a matter-of-fact tone, getting cut off by Ethan.

"She means George, your butler, Jacob. He did not die."

"Impossible! I was there when the execution happened!" I retorted at Ethaniel

My head ached as if everything that happened was all rushing inside my head. The feeling, the pain, and everything else slowly going back.

FLASHBACK

We were panting, and the guards were just right behind us. We can't make it. We can't escape them, "You guys go ahead. I'll give you guys some time, be careful, okay? Tristan." George uttered my name in his most serious tone.

"You take care of these two..." Butler George just smiled at us, I knew, but I couldn't bear to look back."I'll be right behind you." He said in a defeated tone. I just kept running and realized that I was already crying.

"You better come back in one, George!!" April stopped and faced George crying, George just smiled, and words started to form on his lips.

We were safe, and something was happening that brought thousands of people, so we were deep in the crowd where no guards can see us.

"THIS MAN HELPED THE TRAITORS WHO KILLED THE KING! AND WILL BE EXECUTED FOR HIS CRIME!" The executioner shouted. No, no, no.

END OF FLASHBACK

That was the last time I saw George, dying in front of me, that is why he can't be alive! He couldn't, "H-he's already dead. I saw his execution." I looked down and fought the urge to cry.

Amashla laughed, "Wasn't it amazing? How do they manage to make it so real? Don't worry, Alibaba, that was some stupid and simple trick your cousin pulled off."

Here I was again, speechless. It was as if giving me riddles, and I had to think and figure out what Amashla meant. "Joe, the executioner? Let's say he tricked the people's eyes to think George died. Simple as that, so don't worry about him," The executioner was our cousin?!

"Shhh, Amashla, your voice is too high, *cough* be careful, someone might be listening," Ethan warned.

"This is happening too fast... I'm not keeping up, so George was not dead?" April asked with her teary eyes.

"Let me thoroughly explain it. You might've learned this already, but the Nen Nobles are a group of people considered as VIP around the four lower seas. They are known as successors of the third family branch of Acker. After searching through the news about survivors, the high-ups had to do something about your safety, thus assigning me, your aunt, as your guardian." Amashla explained everything. I was slightly getting the gist of it, but I still can't believe it though, after all these years. I wasn't surprised by being part of the Nen Nobles Family. I was surprised because of how we had no idea about what she knew.

She also said that we, four siblings, are descendants of the great Nen, "What do you mean four? Last time I counted it, we were only 3." I nervously answered.

"Well, your brother George of course! George Nen!" What... Last time she said he was alive, and I was shocked, now this?! Is she joking?!

I took a peek at my brother with a face saying, "That's not true right?" but he didn't reply and just looked down.

"Oh child, you haven't learned lots of family secrets." She sighed. If I'm in shock, I can't even imagine April's- lost midthought. April seemed to have known this. How?

April sighs, noticing his brother's dull stare, "I knew. Before getting captured, he told me about it."

"So you guys are keeping secrets from me now?! Are you serious?!" I was so displeased with how they hid something so important to me. I was the one who was traumatized because I saw how his head flipped over after slashing it!

"It may be hard to face Alibaba Nen, but we can't change that fact. I'm not Amashla, not Amshla, but Alxen Nen." her face, serious. It sent shivers throughout my spine.

Wait! Alxen. That rings a bell, I know! "You're a warrior-" she cut me off, "Yes, I'm Alxen The Warrior. I knew that you know my name." she smiled and then became serious. "Starting tomorrow, you both need to train. Pick a book from my bookshelf and study it. Make sure it involves cultivating, okay? And get some rest after reading. I'll be heading out now. Choose carefully." she then left the house.

"Is it true? George is a Nen?" I asked Ethaniel.

"Not exactly. Along with us, George became a Nen when we became one. He is, of course, part of the main blood. Jade George Acker, your so-called butler." F*CK! Why didn't I see it before?

I guess there is no denying the truth. But I need to take my mind off this mess.

I walked towards the shelf and took my breath, and it was all interesting because it seemed like it was similar to the books that I collected in the basement. Maybe I'll just read a book, to ease my mind, I've forgotten how long I haven't read a book. Three years ago was the last time I read a book.

I sneaked outside, deciding I should read the ones I have in my base. I also avoided the guards surrounding the area. And finally, I'm here. These books are nothing more than fiction. I bet this is children's entertainment. Magic, Magic, so weird, we are not kids, why is she telling us to read this? I guess I'll just read then.
