The night passed by and the sun was at the top of the sky, I wondered. I haven't slept so well in a while. I stood up and looked around. I wondered why I slept so well on the couch and not in my bed.
I stood up finding the others. I looked outside and saw that Amashla was training April. I just noticed that I hadn't seen her yesterday when I came back home.
"Good morning," I said rubbing my eyes.
"Oh, brother you're awake." April greeted me with the purest smile.
"Martial arts?" I asked looking at Amashla. She nodded.
'I guess that's what my sister picked.'
I remembered what, happened yesterday and chuckled. I've never felt so amazing on what I do till yesterday.
I waved goodbye to the ladies and went back inside to find another book.
'I was quite a confident maybe I'll find sword skills here. I was hoping for more fierce techniques. The technique I did and will be doing in the future is great, but I think I won't be satisfied with just those.'
I looked around and saw this book called "The Great Fire Conqueror's Sword."
'of course, I was interested in it, so I took it!'
'A few seconds later, I was reading the book I took and hell did I just regret that this was one of those fiction books for kids! Magic is included that's why I don't like it. But of course, I don't want to waste time so I continued to read it.'
'The book was all in Ancient Scripts so I was more interested, maybe they used gunpowder to say that its a fire sword technique. Anyway, the first page talked about the great emperor's travels and cultivation. Then there comes the first technique. It came with of course direction in how to do it. Then the chant you use in order to make it work. When I was already on page 40 I was getting more uninterested just because its about magic...'
"Hey." someone tapped my shoulder and as expected it was Ethan.
I gave him a deadly glare. "What are you doing?" I asked growling. "Shouldn't you be in bed?!" he was supposed to reply but instead just laughed.
"Is my little brother worried?" He said messing my hair. I stopped him and squeezed his wound.
"HEY! HEY! HEY! That hurts!" I glared at him and pointed up the stairs. "Fine... I'll go rest, enjoy reading." He smiled at me.
He went back upstairs and I started reading again.
'That goofy Ethan! He always put himself in danger! He never even lets me take part in clearing the guards! Now, look at him! He's all wounded but that'll change starting today! I'll be working on strategies and swordsmanship!'
I stood up and took a deep breath.
'I can do this!'
"Heya! We just finished up outside, you guys are fast learners! I might have troubles teaching you both at the same time. hmm maybe I should ask help..." she said looking at the ceiling as if thinking.
"Introduce us as Jacob and Lita. I can't let anyone else know our names, whether a relative or not I can't risk it." every word I said she was nodding like a kid.
'I can't keep a serious face around her...'
"Well now, what are you reading?" she came near me and looked at the book. "You can read THAT!?" she said emphasizing the word 'that' I forgot I was reading ancient scripts.
"Ahh yes, this... Uh, sure I can... But this isn't really my thing."
"What do you mean not your thing? This really suits you! The techniques are compatible with your skills!" she said, I was about to answer brother was running down.
He ran towards Amashla and covered her mouth and pulled her out. At that point, I had no idea what was the big deal. Maybe he had something to discuss with Amashla.
"Brother? Are you fine?" April said.
"I'm fine Atlita. I see you're done with your martial arts. Take a rest." I smiled at her and sat back down to read the book I had.
I took a peek of April, and she had a worried face also staring at me. She looked teary.
"What's up?" I asked her. She replied with a shrug.
The two didn't come back inside for a while now and I'm starting to get anxious.
'Hmm, what is it? I know something popped up in my mind but I just can't think of it.'
*SLAM!*
"ALIBABA!" I looked at Amashla a little bit shocked.
'Why'd she have to shout? Did I do something?'
"TELL ME YOU KNOW MAGIC!" Ahh, this. This was it that was in my mind.
I laughed. "I don't believe in children's entertainment, Amashla," I replied.
"ETHAN! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING?!"
Ethan avoided eye contact with Amashla.
'What's happening here? Did I say something wrong?'
"Hey, guys? Did I say something wrong?" I asked while Amashla was smacking or whatever she was doing to Ethan.
Amashla was glaring at me while Ethan looked- I mean avoided eye contact with me too.
"Tell me something would you!" I said chuckling.
"Magic exists in the world you live in, you know!" I stopped at what she said and just laughed.
I stopped laughing when she looked upset as if hearing me laugh disappointed her.
"I'm sorry, Jacob... we thought keeping it away from you would make the world less worry from you..." what is Ethan talking about? I don't get it at all! Magic ain't real. It's just a play people do in stages for entertainment. Just some tricks, right?
"You've got to be kidding me, do you guys perhaps believe in magic?" I asked, I saw April does a facepalm and Amashla looked disappointed, she walked toward Ethan. She slapped him...
'Wait! What?!'
"You were scared with your own family being able to learn what he really is? Is that what you think?! He could have been the greatest person standing here! But since you were all insensitive you let him not learn?! If he could've learnt...maybe...maybe... brother... brother would have been saved..." she started tearing up.
Ethan went towards me and gave a sorry look. "I'm sorry for hiding the truth to your brother. We were afraid you'd become a monster... like- nevermind... we thought keeping it a secret would let the world ease up more... but since you were little you used to have the greatest power among the family and your intelligence was great too... we ended up deciding you should only have intelligence because it would be unfair to have someone like you matching up with the kingdoms... at least that is what dad thought..."
'I was what?! No, this has to be a mistake...'
Lita started crying. "Since you had amnesia, we decided not to tell you what you could do and just told you memories of the past "Jacob" who didn't have any powers... Eventually, your memories came back but differently... I felt so guilty every single time you would mention a scenario from the past and would always hurt me that is why I'm sorry to brother..."
"URGH! MY HEAD! IT HURTS!"
"Brother, I'm sorry... Remember it... The seal now is broken."
That was the last thing I heard and then collapsed...
