Chapter 16 - Act 16: The Truth Revealed

Continuing the last chapter - While Mason and his newfound friends departs and headed for Bèlen, Madison was held captive in unfamiliar place with a strange woman guarding her. "You should listen carefully..." The woman says. "I am about to tell you a story that contains the truth without lies."

Madison replied, "Oh, please... Don't tell me that when you are so full of lies yourself, Elena."

"Looks like you found me out, after all." Elena replied. "At first, I wanted to kill Mason, but it seems that you are more than a threat to my plan."

Out of curiosity, Madison asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Elena smiled and wondered, and replied, "Let's see... That is a secret, for now. I can't have you spoil things that I enjoy. Now, shall we begin the story telling?"

As she conjures herself a book, she opened it and starts reading a story.

The Story

Once upon a time, there was a family living in a remote village. There was a certain farmer whose name was not written in this book and he was known in the village as The Farmer because of his hardworking personality in the field.

He had two children, a boy and a girl or to be more accurate, a twin brother and a twin sister and their name is Hansel and Gretel. The farmer had a wife with a beauty that no one can ever compare, they say that her beauty attracts any men who encounters, even the handsome prince of that time was also bewitched by her beauty and even asked for her hand in marriage, but due to her love for the farmer, she rejected the proposal of the prince and her other suitors.

Unfortunately, the handsome prince is a proud man, a type of man who does not know when to give up, he even said to her that he would even give the whole kingdom as a sign that his love is sincere, but she replied, "I am really sorry, young prince. Too generous, you are, but I do not long for material things or any other things that any men give me. To be honest, I am sure that any women in this kingdom would fell in love for you instantly, but not me..."

The prince smiled for a moment, but was disappointed immediately and asked, "Why? Why would you not choose me as a better partner than that farmer? Did he make you do something so unpleasant? Did he make you eat something to make you fall in love with him? Tell me."

The woman replied, "If you are so desperate, then I will honestly answer your question."

As she explained to the prince carefully, "Yes, he is nothing, but a farmer. He doesn't have anything nor any thing that a man can give to his woman. He is not a prince like you, he doesn't flock in women like you and most of all, he is nothing like you.

You want to know why? Because he is a type of person who puts anyone's interest first before him, he is a selfless person who cares for others' well-being than his own. That is the reason, why I fell in love with him so much and I tell you, even if you give me the whole world, it is still not enough to break my vows to him, or should I say, I love him the most, even if it means turning the world against us." ave have

The prince was left speechless and looked on the ground, wondering and thinking after he heard those words. "I think that I should give up on you. Hearing what you said, makes me realize that there's more to this world." As he looked at her and smiled. "Thank you, for the sudden advice. If it's okay, can I ask your name?"

The woman answered, "Sure. I am sorry for the rudeness, your highness." As she bowed elegantly and introduced herself, "My name is Marie Antoniette, your highness. I came from the land in the far north."

The prince was surprised when Marie Antionette said that and asked, "Far North? What was it like? Is it beautiful? I heard rumors that the lands in the Far North were a paradise, that even adventurers and other people go outside of their countries just to travel there."

Marie Antionette replied, "Well... I wouldn't say that it's a paradise..." As she looked back during her childhood days in the far north. "But I can guarantee that it is fun there."

While having fun in their conversation, The Farmer called her out for dinner and invited the prince to join them for dinner. The prince agrees and joins in and they are happily eating together with the twins eating with them. But the story doesn't end here.

One of Marie Antoniette's suitors, Benedict, a noble from Bèlen, learned about Marie Antoniette's husband and her twin children. So, he gathered a meeting to all the nobles to discuss about what to do with Marie Antoniette's husband and children.

One of the nobles suggested, "I say, we get rid her husband and her children since they are only in the way."

One of the nobles didn't agree and replied, "I don't agree with that, mate. We should get rid of her husband and keep the children. You said that they are twins, right? Then, if we are to get the children, the girl is mine."

"Quit your nonsense! They are just kids and you should not touch them!" One of the nobles argued.

The meeting that Benedict started has led into the state of arguments, as he became annoyed, he pulled out his gun and fired it, and everyone suddenly halts into silence. "Quiet, you idiots! The purpose of this meeting was not to start arguments or throwing off suggestions, the purpose of this meeting is to devise a plan on how to get Marie Antoniette and how to get rid of his filthy husband. Do you understand?" Benedict shouts.

One of the nobles calmly asked, "Then Mr. Benedict, what are you suggesting?"

Benedict answered, "I am suggesting that we should all partake Marie Antoniette, don't you think? As for her husband, one of you should create a solid warrant as a reason to get rid of him while the others will take care of their children, you can do whatever you want to do with them." As he smiled secretly.

The other nobles nodded and agreed to the suggestion that Benedict announced, but one of the nobles noticed something and asked, "What about Marie Antoniette, herself? What will be become of her?"

Benedict again, smiled and replied, "As I said, all of you are given a chance to partake of her, one by one. In other words, you can do anything as you like with her. For example, make a mess out of her, until she gives in."

The plan was carried out and was executed, the day of the farmer's harvest in the field. The farmer went out to harvest their monthly yield, leaving Marie Antoniette and their children alone in the house.

While waiting for the farmer to come back, Hansel went out playing outside while Gretel stayed inside to watch the beautiful scenery, but accidentally, she noticed something in the fields. Without hesitation, Gretel immediately called out Hansel and went to their mother and told her that she saw something in the fields. Marie Antoniette quickly rushes to the window and sealed them shut.

Gretel became worried about her father, as she looked with a scared look on her face and asked, "Mom, where's father? We should wait for him..."

Marie Antoniette comforts her, and replied, "Don't worry, Gretel. Everything's going to be alright, okay? Just trust me on this and I will save you." As she cast a magic spell on both Hansel and Gretel, as they rush towards to the hidden door in the kitchen.

Just as they were about to enter the door, some people suddenly tried to break the door, but Marie Antoniette immediately cast a durable spell to hold them off for a while for her twins to escape. Marie Antoniette then closed the door and locked the twins up, and said, "I am sorry, my children. I can't keep my promise for you both. I pray that God may guide you on your journey. Goodbye."

She then, set the house on fire as the twins watched their house burned down and get barged in by strangers. The hidden door that they were on immediately transported them into another place, and Hansel asked, "Where are we?"

Gretel answered, "I don't know, Hansel. But for sure, we are in the safe place now." As they hold hands and looked at the beautiful scenery together.
