Chapter 17 - Act 17: The Witch Queen

Continuing the last chapter – Madison was left speechless when Elena told her about the story of a certain woman named, Marie Antoniette. Hearing the truth behind about her, Madison was shocked about the truth and said, "I see..." And asked, "Then why do you work with her?"

Marie Antoniette suddenly answered, "That's because Elena is the same as me." As she gently approaches. "You know dear, there's this thing that's been some moments that always happens amongst us witches... Or should I say the fate of the witches always remains the same, no matter where you go and no matter when you are born."

Madison replied, "If fate will decide, then I will go against it."

Marie Antoniette smirked and replied, "Oh? I will wait for that moment to come, but for now, it seems that we have intruders in the house. I will go and meet them myself while you enjoy the show from above." As she conjured a mirror that is linked towards the intruders.

Madison noticed something as she watched through the mirror and asked, "Intruders!? Who are they!? Is it my brother? Mason! Mason! Don't come here! The witch queen is here, the witch of all witches! Mason!!!" Antoniette casted a spell to silence her and said, "Well, let us greet our guests, shall we, Elena – no, Eleanor."

Back at Mason – He and his newfound allies departs for Bèlen and they stopped by at Marcel's mansion and there, they found bodies of unidentified victims from the garden and all the way in the house's hallway, their flesh's torn and ripped apart as if it was like a butcher house. Flies and maggots infested the corpses as Mason noticed something about the corpses. He took a closer look at a corpse and noticed that it still alive and shouts, "Everybody! Get out of the mansion! It's a trap!" As the rest of the corpses began to wake up, one by one and attacks Mason and the others. One of the knights, Peter, decapitated a corpses head and died. He realized something and said, "Mason! Everybody! These people are undead! Decapitate their head and you will kill it for sure! Holy water can also kill them!"

One of the corpses successfully bit a knight in the neck, the man tried to ward off the corpse, but it proved futile. Thus, the man was eaten alive until he died out and the dead man's blood attracts the other corpses. Jena immediately orders the knights to carve a way out, but Mason refused and said, "We are not going back outside! I came this far to save my twin sister and there is no way in hell I'm going to abandon her!"

Jena slaps Mason and replied, "Look, Mason! We are surrounded by the undead! If we to go further, there is no telling that there're many more undead waiting for us!"

One of the knights approached Jena and reports, "Milady! There are more undead outside the mansion! Most likely they are resurrected from the grave in a graveyard! We are most likely trapped here." And asked, "What are your orders!?"

Jena looks at Mason and did not hesitate and said, "Men! Carve us a route inside the mansion! Our top priorities are saving Madison and killing the Witch Queen! Do not die on me, fools!"

The knights shout in unison, "Yes, milady!"

Jena grabs Mason by the collar and whispered, "You better take responsibility for this. I demand a compensation from you later."

Mason replied, "Okay, anything you want."

Jena and Mason once again, agreed and make their way through the undead horde and to where Madison is.

Back at the place where Madison was held captive – Antoniette stood by the mirror as she watches Mason and his allies struggles to punch through the horde of undead. She laughs and commented, "I really love to watch you people struggle when you know it is really futile to fight back, especially when facing against the undead without a priest and even in tight places."

Eleanor replied, "Should it be easy if you are to send a death knight or something?"

Antoniette smiled and said, "It is no fun to end them right away. I mean, you should enjoy watching the show, Eleanor. I am also sure that our dear Madison will love to see his brother get eaten alive with her own eyes." As she looks at Madison sleeping and laughs out loud.

Back at the mansion — Mason, Jena and her knights managed to get to the far side of the mansion, but with only 8 of them left. Some of them didn't survived the onslought and some of them stayed behind to hold the undead back.

Jena suddenly kneeled down and can't the handle the pressure and responsibility of her men's death, she gently draws her knife and almost slice herself in the neck, but Mason quickly grabs and holds Jena, and said, "Don't you ever think of killing yourself so easy."

Jena snaps back and struggles to push Mason back and replied, "Shut up! What do you know!? These men are the only family I have left..." As she started to cry and leans on Mason. "I can't bear to see one of my men die any longer..."

Mason hugs her and brushes her hair gently, and replied, "Those men died for a purpose, and that is to follow you till the end. They didn't die in vain, they didn't sacrifice themselves for nothing. Instead of looking backwards, you should look forward."

Jena hugs Mason tightly and whispered, "I'm sorry... Can we stay like this a little bit longer?"

Mason answered, "Of course..."

One of the knight that guards the entrance suddenly interrupts and said, "Milady, the door will not hold much longer. You have to go with sir Mason, we will hold the undead as long as we can."

"But—"

The knight bowed down to Mason and said, "Sir Mason, please take good care of Lady Jena. She is the only reason why we got our purpose to live. Please, I beg of you."

Mason nods and replied, "Okay. Your request is granted."

The knight smiled and gave Mason a map, and said, "This map will show you the way to where the Witch Queen is and possibly, your sister. I wish you both luck. Good bye, milady and sir Mason." As he went back with the other knights at the entrance to hold off the undead.

Mason grabs Jena's hand and ran. They heard a crash and screams behind their backs. The last of the knights gave their very best to hold the undead back for long as they could.

Antoniette laughed louder and became even more excited as she saw Mason and Jena are the only survivors of the undead onslought. She laughed harder and louder, and said, "How interesting. Should I send you to them, Eleanor?"

Eleanor calmly answered, "It would be my pleasure, my lady."
