Chapter 18 - Act 18: Honor and Loyalty

Continuing the last chapter - Mason and Jena were the remaining survivors as the remaining knights fends off the undead back until the last man.

Based on the map that one of the knight has given to Mason, there was a secret room in the far side of the mansion which is to believed that is where Madison and the Witch is.

They kept running and running, hallway to hallway, door to door, until they made it to the far side and found the secret room that the map was telling about. Mason noticed that there was something odd about the door. They can't find a keyhole or anything, except an inscription, saying, "For an exchange for who opens the door, should possess a power that can change the world."

"A power that can change the world..." Mason paused for a moment and heard something, and touched the door as he suddenly chanted, "Tua potentia Dei est mihi mala vim extermina..."

Jena was surprised and asked, "That was an ancient language, right? Where in the hell did you learn that?"

Mason came dumbfounded about it and answered, "What do you mean? I just heard something and it told me to touch the door and repeats what it says. I had no idea what is this about."

The door glowed a blinding light towards Mason, Jena and throughout the Mansion. The light itself, killed all the undead, purifying both the dead and the souls of the dead within the vicinity.

The light quickly diminished, the door was opened, Madison's whereabouts are just one step ahead. They entered the secret room and they saw a white, narrow and straight corridor with the lights blinking in and out. On the other side of the corridor, there is a door, Jena made a run for it but was immediately stopped by Mason and said, "Wait! Something's wrong here."

*Bang!* They suddenly heard something banging behind the door at the other end of the corridor. "What the hell is that?" Jena terrifyingly asked.

Mason suddenly started to hear more voices in his head and collapses, Jena tried to wake Mason up but she didn't noticed until she looked at the other end of the corridor, under the blinking light, appeared a pale giant lady smiling with no eyes gently approaching them. Jena drags Mason back to the door to get out, but Mason was too heavy for her.

The pale lady is closing in, she still tries to drag Mason back but with futile result, so, she had no choice but to do the thing she hates the most, she took the cross that was given to her by one of the knights and a book that has been blessed and read a verse as she points the cross towards the pale lady, "Those who walks in the darkness, will never receive the Light of Grace given by God and those who seek sanctuary from God will be given to them even if they are sinfully filthy as pigs in the mud. Those who seek protection will be guarded by the Hand of God, therefore I summon thee one of the Great Three Archangels, Archangel Michael!"

The book glowed beautifully white blinding the pale lady away to Jena and Mason. As the light slowly diminished, an angel stood in front of them and asked, "What business do you have with me , my lady?"

Jena answered, "Heed my call thy great Archangel, protect those who are weak and vanquish the evil in front of me!"

Michael heeds her command and replied, "Your word is my command, my Lady. Therefore, I shall vanquish the evil itself in the name of God!" As he charged straight to the pale lady.

Under the blinking lights, Jena continues to drag Mason back while Michael was stalling the pale lady.

The pale lady suddenly grabs Michael by the neck, the Archangel tried to lose its grip but the more he struggles, the tighter the grip becomes.

The pale lady suddenly whispered, "Girl, this angel is not the Archangel Michael..."

Hearing this made Jena confused and replied, "No! That is not true! I summoned the Great Archangel Michael! That can't be true!"

Michael also replied as he struggles to breath, "Don't... Heed... The... Devil's Word... Have... Faith in... God..." As the pale lady snaps the neck of the angel.

Jena knelt down as she can't move while the pale lady approaches. She muttered, "So this is where I die? I'm sorry everyone. I am not strong enough!"

Mason suddenly holds her hand and pulls her behind him as he unsheathed his sword and chanted, "Tuum Deus, dona mihi in potentia virtutis ejus, vincere Arthur weild sanctorum gladio quia dederunt in malum!" The sword glowed pale blue light, blinding the pale lady as the light itself showed the pale lady's true form.

Mason became even more confused, he rubs his eyes as he can't believe what he is seeing and asked, "Elena, is that you? Why are you here? Where's Madison?"

Jena asked, "Who's Elena?"

Mason answered, "She's our friend and she's supposed to be with Madison. I don't know why she is here." As he asked Eleanor again, "What are you doing here, Elena!? Where is Madison!?"

Eleanor replied, "Friend? You make me laugh, boy!" As she unsheathed her staff. "Sorry, my boy. I already swear my loyalty to the Queen. She gave me the honor of killing the last of your kind, especially you twins, Madison and Mason: The Witch Hunters."

Mason suddenly smiled and said, "Jena, I leave Madison in your hands. If I don't come sooner or later beyond that door, leave and don't come back for me." As he stands up and holds his sword firmly while Jena passed by Elena and went through the other end of the corridor. "Elena, to be honest, I really don't want to do this. But you leave me no choice. If it's revenge you want, then why don't you exact your vendetta to the Queen!?"

Eleanor became infuriated and replied, "What do you know about me, boy!? My parents was killed and eaten by the ghouls. I prayed and trusted God that the Witch Hunters will come to the rescue. I waited days and nights, but not even a single Hunter was found! Until the Queen herself saved my life and killed the ghouls that razed and slaughtered my parents. That very moment, I swore to myself that I will kill all the Witch Hunters and that includes you Mason. I may love you as a man, but this and that are two different things. After I kill you, I will go for your sister next."

The moment that he heard the name of his twin sister is the moment where Mason started to lose control and attacked Eleanor but was blocked by Eleanor's staff.

Mason threatens Eleanor and said, "If you dare to lay a hand on my sister, I will make you regret that you will wish you were never born!"

Eleanor laughed out loud and replied, "Then play with me then, darling!"
