Just after Sorena took the twins to the underground passage and sealed the two off in order to save them, she also confronted the witches that raided the village but unfortunately, she was killed while defending herself.
In the underground tunnel, Mason tried to open the door, but it was no use because of the magic that Sorena used to seal the door completely.
"Madison, help me open this up!" he said.
"It's no use Mason, mom told us to go to this path." she replied.
Mason sighs because he has no choice, so he nodded and went together through the passage.
On the other hand, Leonard was badly injured after fighting the feral wolves in the woods.
Luckily, he survived despite being outnumbered, so he decided to go to the Village of Dakhota to his mother's house and to meet his kids there.
While walking in the forest, he gradually becomes dizzy and his body starts to weaken, until he fell to the ground. He already knew that the wounds he received will never recover and was beyond saving.
"So, I am going to die like this? Madison, Mason, my kids... I... I'm sorry..." He whispered and then lose consciousness.
After a while, there was a passing hunter wandering in the forest. There, he saw Leonard lying in the forest, clinging to life. He quickly rushed and check if his still breathing and luckily, he was still breathing and took him to his farm, where his wife tend Leonard's wounds and put him to rest.
Meanwhile, Madison and Mason found the way out to the underground passage and went straight ahead, they realized that a cave was connected to the shed and from the above of the mountain they see the Village of Bèlen, the second richest village in their country.
So, they followed the route that is said to be the only way to the gates of the Bèlen, it may be a longest way, but it is the safest.
After moments of walking, the Madison noticed that the heat from the sunlight had made them exhausted, to the point that they need to rest, but Mason refused.
Madison complained, "Mason, the heat is making us exhausted if we continued walking while the heat is present, we will never make it."
Mason replied, "I don't care about the heat, we need to reach the village as soon as possible, even if it cost my life."
After hearing those words, Madison suddenly grabbed Mason and slapped him, and she said, "Idiot! Do you really intend to waste your life that mother has given to us!? If you want to die, then you should have stayed at the house and fight those witches instead of mother!"
And there, young Mason became silent and he whispered, "I-I'm sorry. Okay let's take a rest for a while"
"I'm going to kill them all..." Mason whispered to himself.
Awhile back in the farm where a passing hunter lives by, Leonard woke up seeing an unfamiliar ceiling and get up from the bed. He noticed that he was in someone's home, so he went outside the room to look for someone.
When he came downstairs, he saw a young girl preparing lunch, the girl was surprised and immediately called her dad. The hunter that took him immediately came to the dining room and he saw Leonard and asked "Are you feeling better? You should be in the bed instead."
Leonard said, "I... I think I'm okay now, just a little —" and he suddenly felt pain.
"You should really take a rest, come with me to the living room. I'd like to have a little chat with you" the man said.
They both went to the living room and the man introduced himself to Leonard.
"The name's Jhonny, but you can call me John, if you like."
"I... My name's Leonard, can I ask where I am?"
"Well son, you're in my house and we live in the outskirts of Dakhota, I found you lying in the forest, you were unconscious that time and had a worst wound on your right arm. Tell me, what happened?" He asked.
Leonard replied, "That was yesterday when the Coda Village was on fire, I ought to go to the village to see what happened, so I rushed to the forest because it was the fastest way to the village, but unfortunately, while in the forest I was attacked by feral wolves, so many that in daylight, I noticed that someone was controlling it. And... And..."
John taps Leonard on his shoulder and said, "Look, it's okay if you can no longer continue. I know how you feel."
"I-I'm sorry..." Leonard said.
On the other hand, Madison and Mason continued to walk towards the Bèlen. Then, suddenly a horse carriage was passing by and the butler, who is driving the carriage saw the twins walking.
So, he stopped by and asked the twins, "Where were you headed, by any chance?"
Mason answered, "To Bèlen sir"
The butler replied, "Oh? Is that right? Well I'm heading there as well so might as well come together there if you want."
Madison asked, "Huh? A-are you sure sir?" And looked at Mason.
"D-don't look at me, well... If you want a ride, I guess I'm going to tag along." Mason said.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Get in the carriage." The butler insisted.
And so, the twins agreed to tag along with the butler and got in the carriage. While in the carriage, Mason asked the butler, "Sir, can I ask your name?"
The butler replied, "Oh, my name is Caesar I'm working as a butler in the governor's household. Right now, I just delivered his cousin to the Dakhota Village. What about you, son?"
"My name's Mason and this is my sister Madison." Mason answered.
Caesar asked, "Well then Mason, can I ask why you and Madison are going to Bèlen all by yourself?"
Mason replied, "W-well, we just kinda lost our way so we decided to go to Bèlen."
"And what exactly are you going to do when you're just a kid?" Caesar asked.
Mason answered "Actually, I don't really know... Maybe I'll work in a tavern and earn some money to buy us an inn to stay."
"Work in a tavern, huh? Hmm, Mason how about you work with me as a Butler and with your sister as a Maid?" Caesar suggested.
"What? Are you sure, sir?" Mason asked.
"Just call me Caesar, Mason." He replied.
Mason suddenly smiled and said, "Thank you Caesar! I really appreciate it! Don't worry, someday I will repay you."
And so, the three continued to ride the path towards Bèlen. With Mason and Madison made friends with a butler working in the Governor's house they will meet new people in their lives.
